MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: : Back to school soon

DutchOma · 29/08/2010 21:44

It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

Wonderful Hermya :)

shieldbug · 25/10/2010 08:47

Hermya so pleased for you and hope you both recover quickly.

gingercurl I'm finding it very hard to focus on my PhD at the moment (in biology), but I'm just going to have to find the motivation from somewhere. I've only got 3 months of funding left and a baby due any day now! I know how difficult it can be and sympathise.

Well, 40+9 here and not a sausage. I'm booked in for induction on Weds evening so all will go quiet then! Please pray as although on one hand I can't wait for things to get going, on the other I'm a bit anxious as the fibroids could make things complicated. They're going to put a line in and have blood on standby, but that in itself is scary! We read the "fear not for I am with you" passage from Isaiah last night, which helped.

PositiveAttitude · 25/10/2010 08:59

Congratulations Hermya, lovely start to my day here to hear your news. Hope you both feel better soon. (8lb 3oz WOW!!!)

Prayers for you Sheildbug, that you will posting good news soon.

I had a lovely time away last week, although not feeling great throughout. Will update later with medical bits. Smile

amberlight · 25/10/2010 09:36

Many many congrats Hermeya!!!!!!!!!! Hope that soreness goes soon - keeping you all in prayer, and keeping everyone else in prayer too

Teaandcakeplease · 25/10/2010 09:40

Awww congrats Hermya my first DD was forceps and still has a little scar above her eyebrow. I ended up taking her to a McTimmoney Chiropractor after a few weeks as she still seemed uncomfy at feeds etc. Worked wonders and helped her settle easier.

gingercurl · 25/10/2010 09:54

Great news Hermya! Glad everything went well.

Shield I'm amazed that you get anything done with a baby due! I would have been absolutely hopeless. Prayers that everything will go well.

PA Glad you had a good week away.

Praying for everyone on here.

CazandBelle · 25/10/2010 10:23

Many congrats Hermy :) I love his name! Beautiful.

PA glad to hear you week away was good. Hope you get some answers soon from the Doctors.

I had a major wobble last night. We've been thinking of ttc again soon (around Christmas onwards), but last night the fear of "what if it happens again" totally took over. To the point where I was ill in the end. Its my own fault really because I looked at the multiple losses section on SANDS. I just don't think I would survive this again. Felt like I was unravelling fast last night. and it makes me wonder if I'm at all ready for this to happen at Christmas, but on the other hand will we ever be ready now? Please pray that God helps me to keep my anxieties at bay. Still feel a bit sick this morning.

DutchOma · 25/10/2010 10:55

Many congratulations hermya. Asher is a lovely name. Hope you soon recover and that the feeding goes well.

DutchOma · 25/10/2010 11:24

Looking back along the thread Hermya, was Asher born on his due date which you posted as 25th October? If so that was exactly what happened to my dd, who was 'creaking' for a fortnight and thinking she would have the baby but she was born on her due date. Leave nature to it and it will all work out.
Praise the Lord

Right, good evening everyone.

Medical update for your prayers please.
Travelling up to retreat last week I received a phone call from my consultant to say that my latest biopsy had come back as "inconclusive", so he wanted me to be seen by a different consultant on my return. Went to see new guy today. He is very nice and I have confidence in him. He showed me the MRI pictures which had been taken on 17th September, when the lump was about half the size it is now. It clearly showed an impressively large tumour in my parotid gland. It needs "urgent" removal, which apparently means within the next 6 weeks. He said it had been "self contained", which suggests a benign tumour, but we wont know for sure until after it is removed and tested fully. Surgery is tricky due to facial nerves running through the gland, but I have confidence in this surgeon.

Lots to get some praying muscles around, so thank you all. I am hoping the pain doesnt increase between now and when it is out, and to know a date soon would be good, and not have to wait for too long.

Many thanks to all you lovely ladies.
Now that I know there is definitely something there and not just my imagination I feel able to share this with people in real life, so hopefully wont feel so alone in all this.

DutchOma · 25/10/2010 19:42

katsh · 25/10/2010 20:04

Hi, I have come over looking for PA because she has been on the CFS thread with me for over a year, and I've been praying for her health, and found the update here. Positive - hope you don't feel I've been stalking you - I have been praying and will continue to do so. pray that rl support will be very good for you and all your family. Hope no-one else minds me joining in slightly randomly here.

PositiveAttitude · 25/10/2010 20:22

Arrrrrr!!! Katsh lovely to "see" you here!!! Thank you so much for stalking caring!! Grin I have sort of gone AWOL from the CFS thread as this has sort of taken over all my thinking and worrying. I will pop over and say Hi soon and please send my love to everyone there.
I hope you and DD are well, I really must catch up with you all.

Thank you DO and caz. Smile

gingercurl · 25/10/2010 22:32

PA Praying for speedy appointment for your surgery, patience and relief from pain for you while you wait, God's hand on the surgeon and health staff and real and practical support for you and your family. Praying also the growth is and remains contained until you get sorted out.

amberlight · 26/10/2010 09:19

Keeping everyone in prayers

MaryBS · 27/10/2010 09:41

Praying for you all...

Worried about church, can't say more. Hope it will come to nothing... but if not, to accept it as God's will...

DutchOma · 27/10/2010 09:49

Praying for you Mary, how are you feeling now after the accident?

OP posts:
PositiveAttitude · 27/10/2010 10:35

Praying Mary. Smile

gingercurl · 27/10/2010 11:20

Praying for Mary and others here too.

This morning, my Bible reading was from Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." (NIV)

It's a verse I've heard so many times, but sometimes it is good to be reminded.

MaryBS · 27/10/2010 11:44

Thank you all. Gingercurl, my reading this morning was from 2 Timothy 1, and these verses struck me:

"For this reason I remind you to rekindle the gift of God that is within you through the laying on of my hands; for God did not give us a spirit of cowardice, but rather a spirit of power and of love and of self-discipline. "

Feeling better over the accident, although still a little nervous. Insurance claim is going well, and I have a free courtesy car, which is good.

madhairday · 27/10/2010 12:20

Lots to pray for here.
Hermya Congratulations! Lovely name, hope he settles down soon. dd was ventouse and was unsettled also at first but it gets better.

Shieldbug praying for a safe delivery. :)

PA I'm glad you at last have some answers, praying for you for the whole road ahead, hope it all gets sorted soon for you. Praying.

Caz - it must be so very difficult. I cannot imagine. I am praying for you, I don't have words to help but I know God is in it with you.

Mary praying for your church situation...you know where I am if you want to talk.

Gingercurl love that readung - we had it at our wedding. Mary also love the Tim reading, it was given to me when I left college to come here.

amber and TACP - how is it going? You are in my prayers.

Hope everyone else is ok - CD how are you, and DO? How is your friend who was burgled?

All ok here - dh home, he had an amazing time but has so much to face back here with workload and stress. I am worried about him. My health still on a good roll, praise God.

amberlight · 27/10/2010 12:41

Keeping the prayers going...

Up and down here. DH is improving but now really overdoing it and panicking about the business for no good reason. I'm just back from the docs where they are sending me to a specialist for an operation - tests for it in early Dec. Just not concentrating on the things I really need to concentrate on, which isn't good.

Notquitegrownup · 27/10/2010 13:15

Flying by, lurking a little.

Many congratulations Hermya! (Can I put in a recommendation for cranial osteopathy, which isn't as scary as it sounds. It's a lovely gentle soothing hold on the head. DS1 was very grumpy after an assisted birth and became a different child after just one session with a lovely cranial osteopath - in fact he fell asleep as she gently held his head! He never fell asleep for me, without being attached to a boob for at least 30 minutes, dysoning me!)

God bless all.

DutchOma · 27/10/2010 20:42

Lovely to 'see' you NQGU.
dgrandson and I went on a bus trip this afternoon while his mummy and sister paid a visit to mummy's friend.
After three minutes in the bus he said:"I've forgotten my mummy". He was soon comforted by the prospect of an escalator, then he nagged me skinny in Tesco for a blue kit kit. No idea what he was on about, I had bought him a magazine because that's what usually happens on a Wednesday, but whatever toy or sweet it was , he was not going to get it. He pushed at me, he pulled at me, he told me he NEEDED it and could I just go and look. Eventually I texted dd and asked what it was, I've forgotten now, but it's a toy and I'm quite glad that Tesco didn't even have it.

Later on I was in the other room and he said "Come here, Oma, now, and I mean it." Wonder who he heard that from.
