MN Christian Prayer Request Thread: : Back to school soon

DutchOma · 29/08/2010 21:44

It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

How awful for Margaret, DO, praying.

Caz, praying for your friends dp starting chemo. Must be so incredibly hard on your friend. Also praying for your dh.

Hermya - so glad MIL is OK. what a relief. Praying for that baby to make an entrance soon!!

CD, so glad car ok and parents evening good.

Have my last session of my seekers course I'm leading tomorrow - please pray for the ladies who come, most of whom have a severe amount of crap going on for them - please pray that they will want to take this further and well, we will see where it goes from there. :)

dh back Monday...counting down the days. God has been good, i have been so well, for me. :)

shieldbug · 21/10/2010 14:46

madhair glad to hear that you have been relatively well whilst your dh has been away. Well done for leading the seekers course, and praying that the ladies will want to know more.

CazandBelle praying for your dh.

Hermya good news about your mil, and of course still praying for you and the baby!

CD glad the car wasn't too dear to get fixed.

amber praying for your dh, hope the news about a second op is still good. (ie that one isn't needed) and that he continues to recover well.

Well, all is frustration in bugland as we await the birth not very patiently! Had a consultant's appt yesterday and I really hadn't made any progress at all since last week. She gave me another sweep (don't think it was successful though) and has booked me in for induction Wednesday night if nothing has happened by then. I was really upset about it all yesterday, but as various people have pointed out, at least I now know that something definite will be happening before the end of next week. I suppose I just get worried about whether the baby os still ok in there. Somehow it seems safer if it is born iyswim. I don't want sproglet to be born tomorrow as it's dh's birthday, but after that, it can jolly well get a move on!!

MaryBS · 21/10/2010 16:54

Been in a car accident. Car written off. Mother broken bone in hand. Thank God all safe.

DutchOma · 21/10/2010 17:08

Oh Mary, praise God you are all safe.

M44 · 21/10/2010 17:23

Mary-love and prayers. x

Notquitegrownup · 21/10/2010 19:47

Mary Shock - so glad you are OK.

Re your earlier post. You don't have to go back to eating gluten if you don't want to! My dh often avoids gluten, although he isn't coeliac, but just finds it doesn't suit him and feels much better without. However, he does know he can allow himself the odd treat, without worrying.

God bless all.

mufti · 21/10/2010 19:53

MARY,HOW SCARY FOR YOU all
praise GOD, he is looking after you.

Hermya321 · 21/10/2010 22:10

Oh Mary - praying for you. I hope you're all ok.

shieldbug · 22/10/2010 09:39

mary thank God indeed that you are all safe. Praying for your mother. What a nasty shock for you.

CazandBelle · 22/10/2010 10:59

Mary - that must've been very frightening, so glad to hear you're ok.

Hermy how is your MIL now?

madhairday · 22/10/2010 13:28

Saw this on fb Mary. :( So sorry, must have been horrible but so glad you are all ok.

CaptainDippy · 22/10/2010 14:30

for Mary again. How are you all feeling now? How's your mum and her hand? xx

Hoping it happens for you ASAP, SB. xx

Off to see friends in Worcester tonight for a few days, which should be fun (and no cooking for me Grin) .....

MaryBS · 22/10/2010 16:06

Not too bad, thanks. Am rather :( about my car, but God was really protecting us - myself and the kids walked away without a scratch on us! My mum is currently at the fracture clinic, am hoping and praying it will mend quickly and cleanly, she is 77! Also that she will manage, as it is her right hand and she is right-handed.

Teaandcakeplease · 22/10/2010 19:11

So glad you're ok. Praying the news at the fracture clinic is positive for your mum x

amberlight · 23/10/2010 08:57

Mary, keeping you and your family much in prayer still.

Here, dh is recovering well from his operation but struggling with some depression (think it's just the after-effects). I've got to stay strong for him, whilst not being very well myself. And try to cope with an old and much loved friend who isn't coping with me being autistic. I would very much appreciate prayers for an answer, because I haven't the strength to deal with new stuff on top of all the other stuff.

Teaandcakeplease · 23/10/2010 10:10

Fairly minor request here but seeing FIL today and H and we're going out to Science Museum. I've had a lot of problems with my PIL and pressuring me about unreasonable things since we separated and wanting me, H, OW etc to all go up to Scotland. Pray for peace in our communications today and they respect my pov etc.

Hermya321 · 23/10/2010 10:28

TACP Praying that things go well for you today.

Amber Praying for strength for you today.

Mary Keeping you guys in prayer.

{whispers} I may be in slow labour (sshhhhhhhhh!!!!!), have had a few days of cramping and have woken up to irregular contractions this morning, but we're ignoring it at the moment, so shhhhhhh.

So anyway, prayer for that thing that we're not talking about would be good. Even though we're not talking about it and stuff. Wink

amberlight · 23/10/2010 11:29

ooo Hermya, keeping the thing we're not talking about in prayers for you....
..and praying for everyone else too...

Teaandcakeplease · 23/10/2010 19:14

Thank you for the prayers, good day and no awkward discussions at all. I did feel when I spoke to God first thing that I should post on here about it, so thank you if you did pray Smile

Hermya praying about you know what

BlueEyeshadow · 23/10/2010 22:03

Glad you're OK Mary and praying for your mum to heal quickly and well.

I'm starting to feel a bit more human again, but still very tired. Lost it with DS1 this afternoon though, and in need of wisdom to respond to him better.

Prayers for all on here too.

madhairday · 24/10/2010 12:55

Hows it going Hermya? I won't mention it but will pray :)

Glad you had a good day TACP.

How are you Mary and your mum?

Amber, praying for you and dh. So sorry your friend isn't coping with things. :(

BES - don't worry, we all lose it with the dc at times, I know I do. Don't beat yourself up. Praying for wisdom and peace for you.

dh back from Uganda tomorrow - yay! so excited. Have missed him too much and utterly shattered. thanks for all prayers.

gingercurl · 24/10/2010 15:31

Hi, prayers for everyone as I'm reading through. I've been lurking (and praying) during the last week or so but been too tired to post.

A request please. I'm doing a doctorate at the moment and am struggling with lack of motivation and utter tiredness. It seems that the 3+ years' of sleep deprivation since the birth of my dc is taking over. All I do is sit and stare. Dh is putting pressure on because I've warned him that I will need to carry on for another 6 to 9 months after my studentship funding ends, which means I'll have to "live off him". I warned him about this possibility (probability?) when I first started and then it was no problem, but now he's saying that if I'm not earning we'll need to move house, sell one of the cars, etc. Am getting stressed about it all.

DutchOma · 24/10/2010 15:46

Praying for you Gingercurl.
It's hard when you are feeling down yourself and then the support you thought you could rely on falls away. Woukd it help if you sat down with your husband and discussed the financial details with him?
How is your sister now and her job situation?
It sounds to me as if you are carrying huge loads.
Any chance of a break?
What are you studying?

OP posts:
gingercurl · 24/10/2010 17:23

Thank you, for your prayers DutchOma (Dc calls Dutch MIL Oma, as well!) On the whole I normally manage quite well, but I do get a bit over-whelmed sometimes. Not much chance of getting away, I'm afraid. Can't afford the time off.

My sister is considering an offer for a new job at the moment, but has a few reservations about the new position that needs to be ironed out before she accepts. (Also, I think she wants to make sure she is not going from one bad place to another.) So not quite there yet, but so many positive things have happened on that front since I first posted here, all I can say is that God is working Smile.

Keeping it vague to avoid recognition, I'm studying management of knowledge (not as in IT and databases but in the context of knowledge people carry around in their heads). Actually, this studentship, and me getting it, is an answer to prayer in itself Smile.

just to let you know that baby Asher made his appearance morning at 10.55am weighing 8lb 3oz. We're both well, just a bit sore as we needed a bit of help at the end. Poor Asher has some marks from the forceps and has been very grumpy from it all.
