It's been a while since I did an update for the prayer thread; I hope that God will remember those I forget:

Thanks be to God for wonderful exam results for MrsCadwallader and for PositiveAttitude dh's new job.
Prayers for Jentlydoesit's DP to find a new job before the money runs out.

Several regulars on the thread find life quite tough at the moment for one reason or another, let's bear each other up in prayer and practical help where possible: CaptainDippy, M44 (whose very much loved mother-in-law died last week), PositiveAttitude, Teaandcakeplease, Madhairday, Blueeyeshadow, Shieldbug (please pray that all fibroids and cysts will disappear before the next consultant's appointment)

Special thoughts go to Swaliswan for the healing of her marriage and for a safe pregnancy and delivery. Also for Hermya321, it's getting close now, only a few more weeks to go.

We pray for the family in MaMoTTaT's church who lost a daughter at a relatively young age. MaMoTTaT will be better known as FAQ or ToccataandFudge,( how I loved that name)

Last but not least we pray for Amberlight in her worry about ds who is struggling with eye problems for which he needs an operation and who is also having tests for hormonal problems. Please pray for as good an outcome as possible, so that he can carry on with his A-levels and rugby. And for peace of mind for Amber, who really could do with the pressure off for a bit.

So let's give thanks to God for His presence among us and get praying....

TACP, something I've found helps is to help to think up a happy ending to the dream, even better if a child can think of his/her own happy ending. eg the snake is someone's pet snake, that they really miss it, and she can help unite the snake with its owner, and everyone is happy. It worked for me as a child, and works for DD too!

Feeling tons better, although stomach is still a little sore. Still waiting for blood test results. Diet is a bit of a pain, so MUCH contains hidden gluten!

PositiveAttitude · 12/10/2010 15:00

whinge alert -

I am really frustrated and sat here in tears. Just got back from the consultant. The good news is that no cancer cells have shown up! The bad news is, no cells showed up, the biopsy failed, basically! So I now have to have another needle stuck in my neck for another biopsy while I am having an ultrasound scan so that he can see he is actually going into the lump. So I am no further forward than I was 2 weeks ago, other than the lump has grown. The consultant seemed surprised that I said that I wanted to go away next week, but I feel I need to go away now and search for God in all this and take time out for Him! Consultant still saying the MRI results are suggesting one thing, but the feel, history and the way the lump is growing is suggesting something else.

So I am away next week, biopsy the following week, then back to see him for results on the 2nd November. Soooo fed up!!!

shieldbug · 12/10/2010 15:41

Oh no, PA that's so frustrating. I think going away sounds like a good idea, as you say to take time out to spend with God in all of this. I pray that the next biopsy will be successful. Can you do something nice to cheer yourself up? I know hermya would suggest chocolate! Sending lots of hugs in your direction.

No news on the baby front here. I'm seeing the consultant again tomorrow and think she may suggest a sweep. As I'm 39+3, that's fine by me.

madhairday · 12/10/2010 17:27

Oh PA how very frustrating for you. I also think getting away will be good, taking time out to not dwell on it but other good stuff instead. Hope it comes together properly next time. Prayers.

Hermya and Shieldbug...praying for you both very much. Shieldbug I can't remember, is this your first? I know it is Hermyas

Just found out I am having a nephew in feb - sil found out the flavour yesterday. Ds is so excited because all his cousins so far are girls Grin

Friends daughter doing so well she may be out at the weekend - praise God - this time last week things were looking terrible.

CazandBelle · 12/10/2010 22:14

I'm so sorry you didn't get the answers today PA - praying that your next biopsy will be successful. I also hope you find your time away beneficial and that God will show himself to you and give you strength with the anxious waiting time. xx

gingercurl · 12/10/2010 23:08

Oh PA that is so disappointing. Keeping prayers going for you. Enjoy your weeke away.

Great news about your friend's daughter MHD. I suffered a stroke 5 years ago and, although you are never quite the same again, it does not have to be the end of life as you know it, just different. I keep praying for her and her son.

No new news re my sister's job situation. The biggest change is that she has gone from feeling depressed and self-destructive to being angry instead, which I think is somewhat more positive. It is propelling her into action and that must be good.

squigglywig · 13/10/2010 00:49

Hi,

Is this a private type thread (don't want to butt in...) or can anyone join in?

Thanks

PositiveAttitude · 13/10/2010 06:53

Squigglywig, the more the merrier, you are very welcome. Hop right on in!!Smile

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. If anyone sees this before 9am, please pray that I can get an appointment over the next 3 days for this scan/biopsy.
I spoke with a friend last night, she is a retired consultant and 2 family members are London consultants. She has discussed me with them and have strongly suggested I push to get this sorted and not delay any more. So I am going to phone and see if I can get it done, or I may have to cancel next week, after all.
Thanks. xx

Praying for you both sheildbug and Hermya. Smile

MaryBS · 13/10/2010 07:26

Welcome squigglywig :)

Praying PA, for an appointment for you...

DutchOma · 13/10/2010 08:47

Welcome squigglywig, this is most certainly not a private thread and you will not in any way be 'butting in'.

Just join the happy band, we share joys as well as sorrows.
PA praying for you as you are on the phone just about now.

squigglywig · 13/10/2010 10:26

Thank you for your lovely welcomes :)

I'll keep you in my prayers PA.

CazandBelle · 13/10/2010 10:48

Thanks be to God for the successful rescue so far of the Chilean miners. I've felt quite emotional this morning waking up and seeing the 7th miner reach the surface safely. I pray for God's continued hand in the operation.

Welcome squiggly

PA continued prayers for you.

MaryBS · 13/10/2010 10:52

Its fantastic isn't it? I was crying this morning, seeing the tension and the emotion on people's faces, and then the happiness as they embraced loved ones! Praise God!

mufti · 13/10/2010 12:43

i read a quote from one of the first out, " i was with the devil and God, they fought,GOD won"
praise be.

PositiveAttitude · 13/10/2010 15:52

Lovely to watch!!

Update from me: Telephoned scan appointments at 9am. Was told appointment was made for 1st November!! Shock I said I wasnt happy, so he said he would speak with consultants and see what could be done, if anything.
Telephone call an hour later from radiographer saying he needed to do me today, so to be there at 2.
So, all done again. Not as painful as last time, guy was really nice.
I am supposed to go back on 2nd for the results, have tried to move that date forward a week, but they wont do it, so I am going to make myself unpopular and be a pain and phone the consultant when I get back from retreat and ask him what the results are. (he said, "dont call me I'll call you", but tough, I have had enough of faffing around now and need it sorted)

So, thanks for the prayers, many answers today and I can still go away on retreat, so that's good. Smile

shieldbug · 13/10/2010 15:52

Hello Squigglywig and welcome! Love your nickname.

Just back from the consultant's appointment, and apparently birth is not imminent but not a million miles away. She gave me a sweep to see if it would speed things up, so hopefully before too long I'll be holding my LO! (This is my first so I've really no idea what to expect).

DutchOma · 13/10/2010 16:25

Good for you PA. And do call them as soon as you come back from retreat, I am very fed up on your behalf with the attitude of your consultant.

Any news from Hermya

Hermya321 · 13/10/2010 17:38

PA Thats good news, I hope they get things sorted for you soon.

Dutch No, am still here and still pregnant.

Shield Brilliant news.

Squiggly Hello there!!!

I've had a lot of on and off again contractions, I went to bed last night with them and did wonder briefly if I would be woken with them. I woke up this morning and they had calmed down. I do feel like my body is teasing me, especially after Saturday. I'm trying not to get too down about it, after all it's all a step in the right direction.

I even tried promising him some new toys, but for some reason he didn't budge Wink.

Praying for you all as I read through.

DutchOma · 13/10/2010 17:58

You and Shieldbug will have to get together and say that they can't play together if they don't come outGrin

OP posts:
MaryBS · 13/10/2010 18:44

Feeling ill again...

squigglywig · 13/10/2010 18:48

That seems like steps in the right direction for you PA. I hope it does get sorted for you soon.

Hermya and Shieldbug - what are you due dates? I was 10 days over mine and I remember the frustration and impatience well, but it does come round soon enough. Honest.

We will keep you all in our prayers.

madhairday · 13/10/2010 19:50

Are you OK Mary? sorry you're feeling bad again.

PA good on you sorting it out for today. Hope they hurry up with results.

Hermya and Shieldbug - many prayers here for you.

Hi squigglywig, welcome :)

Really struggling today. Miss dh so much, feel lonely but also so shattered. He really does do so much around the house and for me generally. I am a bit concerned that I am going downhill health wise as feel like crap this evening. early night I think.

shieldbug · 13/10/2010 19:52

PA sorry, cross posted there. Glad you managed to get an appt, and hope that you don't have to wait until the 2nd for results. When are you going on retreat? Praying for you.

MaryBS sorry to hear you are feeling ill again. Praying it passes soon.

squiggly I'm due on the 16th (Saturday!!) DO like your suggestion re our babies! Hermya praying for you too. Hope it's not too much longer.

gingercurl · 13/10/2010 22:05

Lurking and praying.

BlueEyeshadow · 13/10/2010 22:06

Praying for all.

Still bad sleep here. DS2 is now 13 months and sleep regression is apparently common at this age. Frustrating because this is about the time DS1 started to get it sussed!

Hope it isn't much longer for Hermya and shieldbug.

Was about to go to bed, and DS2 just gave a little cry... Confused Please don't wake up!!
