No. Child sex education is vitally important. If you dont deem it suitable for your child, dont go. No where in the description does it state they will force 5 year olds to watch masturbation. It wouldnt have been allowed to be viewed for children if deemed pornographic. As I said its a theatre show, its not compulsory.

This is not sex education. It is not in line with the curriculum, nor are the actors DBS checked (at least nothing says they are). They have not worked with any major education charity on this show. If you think grown adults getting naked to talk about sexual pleasure to 5 year olds is ‘education’ I suggest you think again!

I agree that good, inclusive, age appropriate sex education is vital for all children.

I just read the website. There are a few things that concern me. They describe it as "alternative", "non-binary",

"Sexual development and behaviour in children starts from birth."

"We are hoping the show offers an alternative to porn."

"We want to equip young people with a wider critical toolkit which they can then apply to life, including interactions with any kind of porn. So this might include: ethical decision making; sexual consent; equity - the skills to spot gender norms, male gaze, racist tropes, ableism; understanding of safe sex (able to spot non-use of protection), etc."

It also defines being gay as same-gender attracted, not same-sex attracted.

It’s entirely ideological. Using ‘sex ed’ to push a huge agenda.

That content would appear to me to be suitable only for maybe 16+, and at that age there's no way they'd be comfortable watching it with their family.

Even the ‘charity’ which liaised with the actors to create the show, advises sex education is delivered in phased classes across the Key Stages. Not all delivered in one dollop with a side order of naked adults and dildos.

Please keep this bumped. Threads tend to fizzle out when they’re moved to Petitions & Activism the huge thread in AIBU shows there is a lot of MN interest in this issue.

Nudity on its own can be non sexual but in the context of a theatrical performance about sex - not for kids.

So would you think being able to take a child to a strip show is ok? It smacks of grooming in disguise of being entertainment. Grim.
