There are many things about the show website that concern me, and many ways in which I think the company have got it wrong.

But I’m not signing a petition which is factually wrong (Tobacco factory is NOT touting the show, it is simply the second venue on ThisEgg’s tour) with sensationalist speculation about content. Yes, the company say there will be nudity, but that is not the same as being “made to watch naked performers explore masturbation and sex”. We have no idea if the nakedness is in that context, during the show.

@StageRage isn’t an unvetted adult with no qualifications getting naked and talking about wanting with 5 year olds, enough for you? That’s not sensationalism, that’s what the show’s own website says.

This is not actually necessarily true.

The nakedness could be in a section of the show that is about different bodies, feeling 'OK' about bodies etc.

It is possible to have serious reservations about the show, without speculating on how it actually works in practice.

I am very sceptical about this company's level of experience and expertise to devise and present this show. It has disaster written all over it. We don't need to make stuff up to challenge it.

The glossary by the way, seems to apply to the show AND the podcast - it is not a given that the words in the glossary are used in the stage show. But so many posters are assuming that this show is 'about' BDSM etc.

I am not defending the show, but am not prepared to support a very right wing Christian objection because many of my reasons are not the same. I have e mailed the theatres and asked factual questions about the language the imagery and exactly how the nakedness is presented. Also whether the actors and other company members have DBS checks, who is running the workshop sessions etc.

Or she could be waiting to see if it actually is a safeguarding risk before she makes a desicion.

How can a non-DBS checked bloke stripping off to talk to small children about sex acts not be a safeguarding risk? Would you let Chris over the road do this for your kids?

I didn't say I would rather a safeguarding risk would go ahead.

I think sending rational, fact-based, factually correct protests and challenges is more effective and less easily dismissed.

The CitizenGo petition says "The Family Show website contains a glossary of terms that they want young children to become acquainted with and includes definitions of 'BDSM', 'frottage', 'hand job' and 'squirting'. ". I don't believe that to be true. The clumsily and badly put together website offers the glossary for the podcasts as well as the show, and that until clarified, I doubt these terms appear in the show.

"There is no difference between taking children to the Family Sex Show and taking them to a seedy peep show or strip club! It raises precisely the same safeguarding concerns". Again, I don't believe this to be true. The intention of a strip club is to create sexual arousal. However dubious the Family Sex Show, nowhere does it say that it intends to provoke sexual arousal.

Repeated: That doesn't mean I support the show.

I just won't put my name to unfounded interpretations rather than the facts - which are in any case serious enough.

I was under the impression it was illegal to expose yourself to a child… Or anyone else for that matter - without consent. A 5 year old child is unable to consent to viewing full frontal nudity. I can’t even believe I’m writing this! It’s ludicrous. Who the hell are these ‘actors’ who want to flash their genitals to 5 year olds? They are non-DBS checked strangers flashing young children. It is very disturbing. I am shocked by the parents who take them

Well children are allowed in nudist venues. I have absolutely nothing against children seeing the naked human body in a situation such as a family nudist venue. It's the context of this theatre show that concerns me.

Is there a reason you're saying that objections are "right-wing Christian"? I can't see that anywhere but might have missed it.
