Is it okay for me to start a second thread of the highly entertaining viscous attack? Couldn’t see a sequel and don’t want to step foot on anyone’s toes

To be fair to her, this is just a rather old-fashioned way of spelling fantasy and some people do use it in preference. So it's not a mistake as such.

I rather liked it. I don't know if she intentionally used that spelling, but I think it's preferable!

Maybe she says it as ‘exackerly’? (And also says likkle and bokkle. 😬)

I used to be on a forum with someone who’s username was Ed Zackerly, so not an unusual pronunciation, but that spelling is outrageous.

I was browsing dresses online today and wondered why a navy blue one with a patterned print was described as "bridal print dress". Then I zoomed in and saw that the print had an equestrian theme

Another example from local FB of someone repeating something they’ve heard said but never thought about the word’s meaning or seen it written down: “looking for a short term rental, min 2 bed with a well behaved / non malting dog”

Someone on a post about a Pride march has just asked someone else what they're "whittling" on about.

I work in a supermarket and some of the mistakes on labels make me smirk. Just the other day I had to put out a really embarrassingly large store-printed label for 'Larger'. I did want to ask whether the lager in question was in bigger than average bottles, but as the apostrophes in the canteen have already addled my brain (instructions to 'wash up your own fork's and mug's), I didn't.

I started a job some years ago with a small business. One of the first things they had me do was to send out late payment letters to customers. I refused to do it until they corrected the letter which said, "We respectively request that..."

Whittling is what you do to shape wood, with a knife.
I suspect they meant "wittering", or talking about something trivial, at length.

@Cathandkin yes I know but I thought whittling was fine, I have just looked it up in true pendants style…😀 also I have heard wittering

When I spoke to the librarian he was so rude! He said I should have taken it up with his English teacher. 🙄
