A Viscous attack # 2

Catpiece · 15/08/2025 11:23

Is it okay for me to start a second thread of the highly entertaining viscous attack? Couldn’t see a sequel and don’t want to step foot on anyone’s toes
edited to add: I’m Cattery but with a name change x

The cutla quid thread!

Catpiece · 10/11/2025 16:04

I say cutla but I wouldn’t write it

OP posts:
ACatAsleepInYourHat · 10/11/2025 16:21

I’ve honestly never heard anyone say “cutla”, is it a southern regional thing? “Coupla” with the “p” sounded is pretty common even up here in the savage northern wilderness, but “cutla” just sounds wrong to me.

Catpiece · 10/11/2025 16:31

It’s just lazy pronunciation. Same as “saaank” for “something”

From the Molly-Mae advert thread,
My husband growns every time she appears.

FawnDrench · 12/11/2025 19:05

Seen in a major supermarket today in the Christmas gift wrap aisle written in large print on a gift bag - “Slay bells”.
I honestly looked twice as I could not believe it.
Obviously too many letters in the word “sleigh”.

PendantScorner · 12/11/2025 19:20

@FawnDrench , complain to the store.

Dashing through the snow
In a one-horse open slay
O’er the fields we go
Laughing all the way
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way.
Oh! what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open slay.
Bells on bob-tail ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing
A slaying song tonight!
Jingle bells, jingle bells,
Jingle all the way;
Oh! what fun it is to ride
In a one-horse open slay.

Chersfrozenface · 12/11/2025 19:45

Isn't a slaying song the kind of ditty Conan the Barbarian sings?

@FawnDrench do shame the supermarket.

Spotted on a thread this week

‘Fall on death ears’ 🤣

Pine Martin is actually correct. The pine marten was named after a forester in Assynt, who was known as Pine Martin, to differentiate him from Stone Martin, the mason. Pine Martin was a bit of a wildlife buff and was the first person to realise that the pine martin was a separate species to the weasel. Later the martin was changed to marten to ensure that no-one confused the two (weasel and lumberjack)

QED

I'll get my coat...

This is how viscous rumours get started, and then they stick in your brain.

Could it be deliberate? It's something the judges say on Strictly - "You slayed it!"

PendantScorner · 15/11/2025 12:53

Coarse it cud.

AgentPidge · 15/11/2025 14:38

On the decluttering thread, someone says her DH is a hoarder and she dreads a neighbour putting out "a help yourself box full of old tut".

Porn mags, perhaps?

Ha ha ha. There is currently a thread asking posters to help guess the genda of an unborn baby

Someone’s husband has got a high “labido”. I’m wondering if that’s a cross between libido and, well I’ll leave it to you to work out…

That's a pun on "slay"/"sleigh" though surely? "Slaying" being slang for doing something well.

Not quite the same thing but it's reminded me of the "you're been sleighed/slayed/slade" line in "Merry Xmas Everyone". Can't stand the song but it's a neat pun!
