A colleague on Teams today asked ‘Why do they keep passing the book?’

@TulipTuesday Obviously never heard of the phrase “passing the buck” which is astonishing seeing as there is so much of it these days x

Or somebody with a northern accent was saying it, so ‘buck’ would sound like ‘book’ to southern ears.

Seen today: “people don’t want to buy the house; they’re just nosey parties”. It’s not incorrect, granted, but I like to think what was meant was “nosey parkers”
