I thought that calzone was something extremely fattening called cal zone.

In the Sopranos, Tony being a horrible abusive bully had many names for one of his crew that was quite chubby and Calzone On Legs was one of his mean insults.

I used to work with someone who habitually said in email and spoken communication pacific when they actually meant specific. For example, “please remember To record the pacific meeting point when scheduling a review”.

When exasperated she’d note that she pacifically told someone

Today's Plumo email is encouraging me to go for an 'intricate but paired back look'.

I wish companies would realise that too many emails just pisses me off.
Superdrug sends me no end of offers, usually for scent when I hate the stuff.

Another one I’ve been seeing for years is “my car was a right off”. Right off what? Obviously don’t understand the vehicle has been written off. Gone. Kaput. Over.

Today's gem: 'Receive this , other scam .'
Someone received another scam.

I so want to reply 'I don't want to receive it, thanks.'

I just wish that people would read. Proper, actual reading of things like newspapers and books (although I realise that these aren't completely free from typos, but they don't tend to this level of utter abuse of the language). Because every time someone uses something like 'hotel scampi' they drop just a little lower in my estimations, and some people can't afford to drop much lower.
