A Viscous attack # 2

Catpiece · 15/08/2025 11:23

Is it okay for me to start a second thread of the highly entertaining viscous attack? Couldn’t see a sequel and don’t want to step foot on anyone’s toes
edited to add: I’m Cattery but with a name change x

That's probably an auto-correction.

Tallisker · 23/09/2025 12:10

Or a deliferate mistale 😁

CalzoneOnLegs · 23/09/2025 15:36

I can’t believe I forgot this, but and Ex BF thought it was called ‘Hotel’ scampi 🤣🤣🍤
he also thought Scotland was on the Arctic Circle

PendantScorner · 23/09/2025 16:03

‘Hotel’ scampi - please explain. @CalzoneOnLegs .

Some people have no sense of geography.

I thought that calzone was something extremely fattening called cal zone.

CalzoneOnLegs · 23/09/2025 16:13

@PendantScorner

He thought ‘wholetail’ scampi was `hotel’ scampi 🤣🤣 it took me a while to work it out 🤣🤣

I had to get google earth up about the Arctic Circle because he was convinced he was right.

It's defiantly good to have a second thread 😁

I see what you did there 🤣

PendantScorner · 23/09/2025 16:17

Thanks. @CalzoneOnLegs . Wholetail!

CalzoneOnLegs · 23/09/2025 16:26

@PendantScorner he was a genius at IT though to balance things out.

In the Sopranos, Tony being a horrible abusive bully had many names for one of his crew that was quite chubby and Calzone On Legs was one of his mean insults.

CoffeeLipstickKeys · 23/09/2025 16:28

I used to work with someone who habitually said in email and spoken communication pacific when they actually meant specific. For example, “please remember To record the pacific meeting point when scheduling a review”.

When exasperated she’d note that she pacifically told someone

Currently at another tastefully decorated restaurant, where the menu says we can make a donation to one of their designated charites by buying an invisable dish

I'm catching up - but, my god, that's so painful! I've become hypersensitive to SPAG errors like this due to scam/phishing websites. Now there's an epidemic of illiterate but genuine SPAGghetti, it sets off my alarm bells and social concern alerts all at once.
Nope. Make it stop!

Ah a hotel that only sells scampi or is it a hotel that only serves scampi ?
Scampi ice cream anyone???

CalzoneOnLegs · 24/09/2025 08:43

@DeanStockwelll goodness only knows what went on in his massive greasy head 🤓

DeanStockwelll · 24/09/2025 10:43

@CalzoneOnLegs , I now have a image of several male and female scampi all in formal attire turning up at your ex's hotel .

( Please excuse me while I go and find my mind , it's wandered off again . )

Wait, what??? Hotel Scampi? That’s along the lines of dolphin nose potatoes 😱 In fact, why not order both together?

Today's Plumo email is encouraging me to go for an 'intricate but paired back look'.

I wish companies would realise that too many emails just pisses me off.
Superdrug sends me no end of offers, usually for scent when I hate the stuff.

Catpiece · 24/09/2025 12:40

Another one I’ve been seeing for years is “my car was a right off”. Right off what? Obviously don’t understand the vehicle has been written off. Gone. Kaput. Over.

Today's gem: 'Receive this , other scam .'
Someone received another scam.

I so want to reply 'I don't want to receive it, thanks.'

Vroomfondleswaistcoat · 24/09/2025 14:09

I just wish that people would read. Proper, actual reading of things like newspapers and books (although I realise that these aren't completely free from typos, but they don't tend to this level of utter abuse of the language). Because every time someone uses something like 'hotel scampi' they drop just a little lower in my estimations, and some people can't afford to drop much lower.

Catpiece · 24/09/2025 14:28

@Vroomfondleswaistcoat Indeed

Cathandkin · 24/09/2025 14:30

People seem to have stopped reading, it would seem.

Catpiece · 24/09/2025 14:37

@Cathandkin Apart from dross on SM
