Yep. I await someone saying they hate seeing mom instead of mum, even though several million west midlanders use mom. It must’ve come up almost as often as the Great Gotten Misconception on MN.

Did your mom come from the East Midlands?

Anyway, 3 million people live in the West Midlands. It’s the second biggest population centre in the country. There’s a lot of us about. Lots of us say mom. Deal with it!

Im sorry if I come across as arsey. But I am so heartily fed up of being corrected in my pronunciation / vocab. It happens so often and I’m fed up of smiling politely.
