Draw- ring

or

Draw- ing (no R sound before the ING)

It's a pendatometer test

Wensday.

I am doubtless wrong, but too old to change that one now. Much Esteemed Great Aunt probably said Weddensday.

It really depends on who I'm talking to and how much care I'm taking.
If I'm talking properly - ie not being lazy - then I say:
draw-ing
Feb-ru-ary
Wedns-day
If I am being lazy, however, the results can be very different. Like MascaraOHara, I have a mixed accent due to having a Southern mother, a Northern father, being born in Birmingham and having lived pretty much everywhere!

How do you say 'handbag'?
Most people, without realising it, say 'hambag'. Go on, try it, and try not to sound like Lady Bracknell.

I do say drawring, but its because I have a problem with the way I say my ws and rs! Nothing serious I dont sound daft but it makes certain words a little difficult, like this one.

Its not as harsh as draw-ring, buts definitely got the r there. Not a choice of saying it that way tho!

Pavlovthecat · 24/04/2008 12:33

grarss, parth, barth, larf (although it has morphed in laff more recently).

Just to put a spanner in the works, the correct pronunciation is 'droin' if you are talking about a drawing room!
