Draw- ring

or

Draw- ing (no R sound before the ING)

It's a pendatometer test

draw - ing i have never heard the other

Flame · 24/04/2008 11:36

I have now said both about 20 times.

I have absolutely no idea!

MrsBadger · 24/04/2008 11:36

if I am thinking about it I do the latter

but I suspect the former slips out many times unobserved

ZoeC · 24/04/2008 11:36

Draw-ring (had to say it aloud a couple of times to work out how I DO say it though!)

SheikYerbouti · 24/04/2008 11:36

The latter

YouCantTeuchThis · 24/04/2008 11:37

QueenTaLcY · 24/04/2008 11:44

changed my mind...dror ring here too.

I think

Poledra · 24/04/2008 11:48

Draw-ing. There isn't a second 'r' there, so why pronounce it? (Used to drive my Scottish mother mad when English TV presenters added the extra 'r' ).

egypt · 24/04/2008 11:50

how on earth do you say it WITHOUT saying ring at the end. you would have to briefly pause after draw before saying ing, surely. when they run together 'aw' and 'ing' would automatically become drawring.

unless you are jonathan ross

draw wing

MascaraOHara · 24/04/2008 11:52

or ming-ming lol

CountessDracula · 24/04/2008 11:52

Draw-ing

WideWebWitch · 24/04/2008 11:53

draw ing

castille · 24/04/2008 11:54

pedantometer = measure of how pedantic you are

The proper pronunciation is draw-ing, so I was gently informed by my English teacher great aunt when I was about 7.

Practise is needed to get it right! No wings allowed.

cyteen · 24/04/2008 11:59

Poledra, it's just my accent, same as why I pronounce 'grass' as 'grarse'

CountessDracula · 24/04/2008 12:00
