Ooh - forgot to say MoM - looking forward to seeing your cake toppers - that sounds like fun ! I would love to have a go at something like that but dp and I are soooooo unartistic, its unbelievable. I tried to dd an Iggle Piggle cake for dd's 1st b'day and it end up looking like a deformed Monster Munch monster It went in the bin

saralou · 05/11/2008 14:05

lol at deformed monster munch.. i have similar talents as you tilly!!

i personally prefer the 1st link

you can see on our video me hoicking my dress up all night!!

my wrap was discarded to one side after the 2nd drink! and i'm usually quite self conscious of my arms/back due to moles and tattoo's!!

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 14:20

added the toppers to my profile(i think)

they are a bit dodgy and the flipping camera wouldn't focus but i have individual ones too. They will 'do'

smurf, i completely missed your post earlier. Sorry you are having a hard time. Anything we can do?

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 14:21

btw i like the gray one better Tilly - the other looks white

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/11/2008 14:26

MoM - they look brilliant Well done

First (pale) grey link or second (steel grey) one ?

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 14:30

I didn't even notice that there more on that site

i like this one best

i am worried now, i don't have ANYTHING to cover me at all! am going to have to do a hot water bottle aren't i?!

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 14:31

Thanks for the pic Tilly - it looks great. I totally understand why you're not feelnig it though on the fitting - you need to make them do it the way you like. I would have thought if you lift it slightly, you'll need to take it in under the breasts a little, so that it can't slip down?

This is the problem with strapless dresses though... which is why I simply don't understand why she won't "let" you have straps? For pity's sake, it's YOUR dress. Am hopping mad on your behalf. I'm having straps added to mine - that was decided even before the dress was chosen as I don't like a) to expose too much chest by itself and b) I don't like my shoulders but some shops did get weirdly precious about it. Needless to say, none of them scored the dress making!

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 14:32

Oh and I vote for the first link - pale grey.

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 14:32

forgot to say that DPs guitar does have a head on but it came off in the oven so will glue it back later

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/11/2008 14:36

Thanks all... That's the one I like as well but dp prefers the other one. I'm wearing it though .....

Bling - I agree. I had a strapless dress for my first wedding (same designer in fact) and it fit really well and felt really comfortable and secure and didn't slip down at all. This one makes me look like I'm flat chested (I'm not !) and like I've got a really short body and flabby chest (because it cuts halfway across my boobs).

I need to grow a pair (balls, not boobs ) for my next fitting. I'm so bad at being assertive in these situations but I know I'll regret it if I don't say something. I may take my really cheeky and scary assertive best mate with me

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 14:55

That's a very good plan. That's what my friend did... she took me!

saralou · 05/11/2008 16:45

agree, it needs to sit higher on you tilly, it's squishing your boobies! (perhaps you should take bling with you!!) definitely take a good friend though for back up!!!

but what a stunning dress!!!!

mom your cake toppers are fantastic!!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/11/2008 17:18

Right - sorted - how many of you are free next Saturday to come with me ? I reckon if I take you all in for back up, we should get it sorted.

Am definitely going to be assertive though - pointless paying best part of £700 for a dress and not being happy with it

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 17:39

I did check where you were... I admit! . But Manchester is a bit far for me I'm afraid.

Are you wearing your hair up for the wedding? In which case, maybe tie it back for the next fitting so that you can see the overall look a bit better?

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 17:49

are you Manchester Tilly?? (the clipboard things are not working for me tonight so can't check!)

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 17:50

MOM - how's your foot feeling?

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/11/2008 17:53

No - I'm Birmingham .

Bling - hair still not sorted but will probably be mainly down (but curly/wavy with a bit off my face). Right am off to email my scary mate to see if she can come too

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 17:53

not bad actually thank you. aching more than hurting now. Have had my comfy Ugg a likes on for schools runs as they are soft! I think when they told me it wasn't broken i felt allowed to try and walk on it if that makes sense? I was so worried that i had a fracture and would make it worse!

Blinglovin · 05/11/2008 17:55

Oh. Still too far though. Must have got confused!

So glad MOM. When I did whatever I did to my foot, I remember about 6 weeks later it was still sore so I went back to the doctor. And he said, "use it more". I'd been so scared of making it worse that I was being too cautious. Sure enough, two days later after walking normally, it was fine!

Tillyscoutsmum · 05/11/2008 19:49

MoM - Glad your foot is feeling better. I was very worried for you

Whereabouts is everyone else btw ?

MerlinsBeard · 05/11/2008 21:36

i am manchester (well south manchester/cheshire)

Blinglovin · 06/11/2008 10:42

Did I click on your profile by mistake then? Oops.

I'm SW London

Tillyscoutsmum · 06/11/2008 11:22

I suspect you looked at MoM's cake toppers, then my dress and just got mixed up between our locations. Hey ho, what's a 100 miles between friends ?

Wonder when Jammi's going to come and tell all [nosey bint with no life emoticon]

MerlinsBeard · 06/11/2008 13:01

Not mine, mine says NW

Not that it matters but was a bit excited that i was near someone for a sec(and wanted to see the dress in RL)

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/11/2008 14:24

Right - just had another hair trial - I think we're sorted (at farkin last I hear you all shout )

Hen night (sort of) tonight.. Wish me luck in staying off the cigs

Ooh - and another 2lb off at WW last night

Scary friend can't make my fitting next week , so I'm just psyching myself up to be assertive.

MoM.................

3 WEEKS & 1 DAY TO GO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
