I just found this and thought I'd post it here just incase any of you are planning on getting married within a few feet of a swimming pool!

I really think if I was her I'd be devastated, all that time and effort and money into making her look beautiful, for what?!

MerlinsBeard · 26/10/2008 19:32

Hi Ladies I see all your planning is going well. Married life is going well here, no different tbh

I just started this thread on who to notify you have changed your name - it is proving to be a long process so I thought it might help some of you.

Will pop back in to keep up with the plans

MerlinsBeard · 26/10/2008 20:18

callmeovercautious · 26/10/2008 20:21

LoveMyGirls · 27/10/2008 08:37

Hey,

It's 7 years today since dp and I first kissed am I mad for remembering these things? (I told him it would never work Looks like I was wrong!

What do you remember/ celebrate with your dp's?

Tillyscoutsmum · 27/10/2008 08:56

Happy first kiss anniversary LMG

We're a bit rubbish at remembering dates. I know it'll be 4 years since we first kissed at the beginning of November - but can't remember the exact date (think its either the 3rd or 4th ?? maybe). We moved in together in mid April but again not sure of the date. We got engaged a couple of days before my birthday coming up to 2 years ago (so probably around 8th/9th December). Its all a bit vague

I do remember the date I got my BFP with dd (31st August ) and I also remember the date of my 2 mc's .

Anyhoo - wonder how stretch got on.... It was a lovely crisp sunny day by us on Friday

jammi, you tried a bit harder than i did for bf bras! I found one in primark, guessed the size and bought it!! Am hoping that if i feed him before we leave for ceremony he will be ok until we get to reception and i can have a bottle waiting for him (or use the chance to have a break!)
he is sill an unregular feeder!

DP and i don't celebrate any important dates i know we first kissed on 20th April 2000(!!) and moved in together nov 2001, got engaged on his brothers birthday the year that DS1 was born (2003)

he has enough trouble remembering his own birthdays tbh whereas i can remember the dates i got my bfp, miscarried and due date

saralou · 27/10/2008 16:25

stretchmarkSCREAM · 28/10/2008 12:05

Ok, wedding story...!

Stayed round my mums thurs night with dd1 and ds, dd2 stayed with dH! Spent the evening having nails done, decorating the reception etc... Finally went to bed at 1pm Cue ds (5 months) waking at 3am to feed..and then at 4am...and then at 5am!! I gave up at 5.30 and got up.

Had hair and makeup done at 9am. I had a really good time there, we were the only people there, and they made us feel really relaxed.

We then had to go to get some cash out, so went along to ASDA!!! In full hair and makeup, complete with tiaras!! Obviously dressed in our finest attire!! (jeans and tatty t-shirt!!) We did get some looks!! Esp when someone I know screamed at the top of her voice, " WHAT ARE YOU DOING? YOU'RE GETTING MARRIED IN AN HOUR!!!" THAT made people stare!!

I was fine until I got into the car, then I got really nervous and started shaking!

Oh, and dH rang my mum to tell me that the registry office said we COULD have music, separate interviews and a reading an HOUR before the ceremony, so he ran round trying to sort it out. Afer all that aggro over us not being allowed to!!

The ceremony went well, dh was soooo nervous! He fumbled his words a bit, and nearly said 'awful' wedded wife!! I laughed out loud! He got really tearful as well, not me i'm 'ard!!

I was sad my bro couldn't be there, but he came at the night time.

Ceremony was lovely, dads speech was good and the night do went off without a hitch! My cake was lovely too, will upload some pics of that later.

I am soo glad it is over, but it went so fast. I still can't quite believe I'm married. My dad says I'm now a grown up, not his little girl

I'm sure there's more to tell you!!

Thank you to you all for the support and help! Esp TSM!! Just being able to rant on here was a big help.

teafortwo · 28/10/2008 12:47

Lovely! Congratulations, SMQ!!!

When I got married - all that time ago, near the beginning of this thread, I spent several weeks just telling everyone the story in great detail from beginning to end - I was on a massive high for at least 1 month - just telling everyone what it was like. It is a hundred times better than the planning bit!!! Enjoy telling all your wedding story and showing off those lovely lovely photos!!!

Tillyscoutsmum · 28/10/2008 13:46

Aw SMQ (or Mrs J) - what a lovely wedding story . You sound like you had a fantastic day and the pictures are brilliant. I love your hair - you looked stunning and your dd's (and cousins) looked so sweet in their dresses (I think I recognise the fur coat thingies from BhS - they're the ones I have for my dd's )

Can't believe the registrar changed their mind at the last minute - what a blooming nightmare . I'm sure it didn't matter a bit on the day though.

You've made me really excited now ...

Hello saralou, Teafortwo and CMOC btw - glad to see the newlyweds are still popping on to see us occasionally.

teafortwo · 28/10/2008 13:55

oh of course we are still around - we are all lurking, what made you think we weren't??? - Now we are all married and now I have chosen a dress for my sister's wedding... we just sit quietly at the back, wearing hats, nodding and smiling!!!! Think of us as your mn Aunts!

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 28/10/2008 15:00

for TSM-
Sainsbury Selly Oak, and Maypole do NOT have vegetable puree, nor does Marshall LAke. Sorry.
Maybe a health food shop would?

Tillyscoutsmum · 30/10/2008 08:36

EPPM - thank you again for looking . I've now tried three Sainsburys, two Tesco's, an Asda and a Morrisons and still not found the bloody stuff . Think I will give up. I'm really grateful to you for looking though - thank you !
