Just popping into say hello... now I am married!

It was a great day. Very chilled out - as we said our lines the children and some of the adults (including me) were playing catch with a beach ball! The registrar really understood the atmosphere we wanted and suggested we let the children play and for the adults to just casually stand around her as she and of course we said the required words!

We then caught the underground to Covent Garden for our photoshoot which actually turned out to be really fun - can't wait to choose which ones we keep!

Then because the weather was so nice we had a late lunch in an outdoor restaurant near the river and slowly walked back to the hotel.

And reader... I loved it!!!

Good luck with your weddings! Hope you have fun too!

Dropdeadfred · 07/07/2008 07:45

Sounds fab T42...can't wait to see pics!!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 09:25

Congratulations T42 and MrT (have mental pic of Mr T from A Team now {smile]) . Sounds like it was a lovely day - glad the weather held and can't wait to see some pics

Slur - you are absolutely right about thread title - its more of a "does exactly what it says on the tin" title but could definitely do with being a bit more witty

Great tips about pics - now need to find a guest who is likely to stay sober enough to take photos during the evening... Hmmmm - could be problematic

teafortwo · 07/07/2008 18:51

See here for a few of the pics....

It is the 5th July post.

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 19:45

Aww - Tea - those pics are lovely - can't wait to see more of them. You and your dh look so happy and relaxed and I just want to munch your dd up (she reminds me a little bit of my dd with the curls )

Different - I don't think so...not unless there will be some a bit nearer the time. Why ?

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 19:53

Doh ! Just realised you meant for the photo taking

OP posts:
differentID · 07/07/2008 19:59

lol.

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 20:04

I thought you were talking about a new thread name and I wondered where pg guests fit in

I am officially a doughnut

Tbh - we've got a photographer in the day and the evening do is in a cellar bar so I suspect most pics would be a bit crappy even if the photographer were sober. Will make sure a couple of sensible (ish) people have a camera handy though - just in case

differentID · 07/07/2008 20:15

No, I am just off to get myself a slice of my gorgeous cake

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 21:18

Yum

Smallships, Babyinacorner - this time next week you'll be spliced How are you both doing?

SS - you can't still be recovering from your hangover surely ?! (although I am getting a bit older now and the last one made me feel crap for the best part of 3 days )

stretchmarkqueen · 07/07/2008 21:34

Hi! had my first RSVP back today!!!!!! !! (ok i have no life!) . I sent them out 2 weeks ago!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/07/2008 22:04

People are half soaked getting RSVP's back... I need to get a move on - I haven't even ordered my invites yet - I was thinking of sending them out mid August (wedding 29th November) - d'you reckon that's a bit late ??

Like the cake - very modern and simple

OP posts:
stretchmarkqueen · 08/07/2008 10:01

Ther's no problem sending the invites out a bit later. The main people in the wedding will already know won't they? Just remember that some people may have to take a day off of work to attend, and they may need to book it off as holiday. (2 of my guests can't come because of work.) Are you making the invites or having them done for you?

stretchmarkqueen · 08/07/2008 10:03

Duh! THERE'S!

SmallShips · 08/07/2008 10:28

Im back.

Teafortwo, your day sounds lovely and your pictures are great! Glad you all had a lovely day.

Ive been busy trying to sort out the last little bits for the big day, i am stressed lol, thought i'd let DS watch cbeebies, whilst i chill on here for a while!

BIAC - Are you all set for Friday??

Hows everyones planning going?

SMQ - I was v.excited when i got my first RSVPs... the first two were declines! Had to wait a whole week after for an acceptance!

SmallShips · 08/07/2008 10:29

SMQ - love that cake, really simple and elegant looking.

TillyScoutsmum · 08/07/2008 13:24

SMQ - I will probably buy the invites - the M&S ones look good though. I was just going to email everyone but suppose I ought to send invites - especially to some of the older rellies who don't have email

SS - don't stress - it'll all be fine. Have you got a plan B in case it rains ? What have you got left to do ?

BIAC - where are you ?

OP posts:
stretchmarkqueen · 08/07/2008 13:30

Lol!! Mis-read your post TSM as "older relics"!!!

babyinacorner · 08/07/2008 13:44

I'm here! I'm getting a wee bit stressed now - just sat down for lunch and trying to calm myself. I don't know why i'm so jittery,i've been with my dp for 8 years and we have a baby together!

SMQ - cake looks lovely

TillyScoutsmum · 08/07/2008 13:55

SMQ - probably quite apt

Hi BIAC - deep breaths ... Tis natural to be a bit nervous - all that planning and being centre of attention all day. Are you all sorted ?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 08/07/2008 20:03

TSM - I brought my invites today (planning to do them myself) so when I walked past a craft shop today and they had 100 blank card with envelopes (already pre-folded as well!)for £9 i snapped them up!

Where are you maybe I could get you some and post them to you, loads cheaper and more personal than brought ones, depends if you have the time to customise them though? You can get cream or white.

SmallShips · 08/07/2008 20:51

BIAC - The weather looks better at least lol.

TSM - Still got to do my table place settings, sort out a small buffet for the evening guests, buy flowers etc for MOB/MOG, clean the house from top to bottom as we have guests coming back after. Probably a million other things to do, but instead i am back on here lol!!

Im checking the weather every 30 seconds, tis not helping shorten my "to do list"

teafortwo · 08/07/2008 21:38

ss - relax all will be fine.

Thanks all for all your kind words about my wedding. I love talking all about it. We have a big bbq with family on Saturday and we are getting jittery about weather too!!! If we all wish hard enough it will be fine fine fine!!!!!!!!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 08/07/2008 22:21

SS - rope people in to help with place settings (family/friends anyone). I remember at my first wedding telling one of my friends that I thought she had lovely handwriting and it would be great if she could do my place settings.... lots of flattery got me out of it

T42 - sending good weather vibes for saturday

and Friday obviously for SS and BIAC

Lovemygirls - thanks for the offer (I think we're both near Birmingham aren't we ??) but I must be the least arty/crafty person in the world and could not even attempt to do my own invites. I swear my 4 year old dsd could do a better job than me

I'm still waiting for a quote from my florist - I went to see her last Wednesday and she said she would sent it in the post. Where the bloomin hell is it....not that I'm impatient or anything ....
