smurf girl... i think mil said that ceremony and photo's would take an hour... were having reg office thoguh! so thats 20 mins taken care of... and their is only 30 of us!

phone yours and ask her! it all depends on what you want... number of people etc! i have no say in mine, mil is taking care of that... we get what she wants

salbysea.. your dress is so nice and your car is cool! (congrats on the pregnancy too ) what date do you get married??

MerlinsBeard · 12/08/2008 14:27

ok, so i realised last night just HOW much there is to do!
I think i need a list (i like lists )
btw i am bluedragonfly, i just went back to MoM for a while

Dropdeadfred · 12/08/2008 14:46

my only advice really would be to really enjoy the day...do everything that is important to you and waste no time on anthing that isn't....its such a short time...but so amazing!

saralou · 12/08/2008 14:55

mom, i did that the other day wrote a list... PANIC!

lots to do, but am happily ticking stuff off

blinkieblink · 12/08/2008 15:04

Hi Everyone! What a great thread! Getting married on the 16th of December and have been counting down the days since last year. Every now and then I get a little panic attack. Is this normal or am I the next bridezilla??

MerlinsBeard · 12/08/2008 15:06

BB i am in MAJOR panic attack mode at mo. We only booked ours last week and its 29th November THIS YEAR!!!!

Dropdeadfred · 12/08/2008 15:14

booked our venue in April and got married in August...I thinksometimes it's easier to do it with less time to ponder over a million choices...

blinkieblink · 12/08/2008 15:16

Mumo - I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one going through this at the mo. People keep telling me that things will work out...so the date is booked, do you have someone to help you with the arrangements?

saralou · 12/08/2008 17:40

we started booking ours with 4 months to go! i think it's better that way, short notice... my best friend is getting married sept next year, she's going on and on already!!!!

i'll be happy to talk about hers after mine... but for the next 7 weeks i want it to be all about meeeeeeeeeeee!!!! lol

i'm the only one making arrangements, plus looking after the boys, sorting out a million and one things for all my other crap too!

stress... without it my life would be empty

SalBySea · 12/08/2008 17:46

mumofmonsters - booked mine 5 months in advance and could definitely have done it in less! have had moments of jealousy about a friend who did hers in 3 months TBH - like a lot of things, the longer you have the longer it takes. If you walk into a dress shop and say you have 6 months to plan, , they'll tell you that its doable if you order now, - they say the same thing to people who walk in and say they have 4 months. All the suppliers I've spoken to are the same. However long you have, NOW is the time you have to book.

T42 - yes, first pregnancy

TillyScoutsmum · 12/08/2008 21:01

MoM - you've got loads of time. Happy to help out with a "list" if you want

OP posts:
teafortwo · 12/08/2008 23:01

sorry tsm for getting a bit over enthusiastic with the pictures - but I know how much you like pics and dropdeadfred's are so beautiful!!!

Salbysea.... a wedding and a first baby how lovely!!! Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!!!!!!

MoM - TSM is a star with the whole wedding organisation thing - My advice is.... sit back relax and let her help you with the list!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 13/08/2008 09:24

T42 - they are gorgeous and between you and me, I've looked at them more than twice

TillyScoutsmum · 13/08/2008 19:59

Help please ladies. Can you show me your flowergirl/bridesmaid dresses please ? I need to sort ours out. I've just sent some back I ordered because I didn't like them.

TIA

OP posts:
Dropdeadfred · 13/08/2008 20:44

My bridesmaids wore these in Mocha
My flowergirl aged 3 wore an ivory dress with gold embroidery from Next

TillyScoutsmum · 13/08/2008 20:51

We're you happy with the Next one Fred ? (Stupid question - presumably you wouldn't have had it if you weren't !). They've got some I quite like the look of here but quite fancied something with red on to tie in with colour scheme (there are only 2 flowergirls - no bm's). We're the sizes generous ? I know Next normally are. Its quite risky ordering them too early knowing the rate dd grows - but I don't want to leave it until the last minute

Excuse my hideous grammar on last post (Were - not we're obviously)

www.tulipandnettle.com

My dd was my bridesmaid and will be my sister's too. I bought dd's dress from tulip and nettle and my sister is going to buy her dress from Ulrikabogo.

callmeovercautious · 13/08/2008 23:23

You lot have whizzed off without me whilst I have been in post wedding daze

Hello SalBySea - congratulations on the bump and the impending wedding.

DDF - Well done and welcome to the club.

Photography - ours was a colleague of DH. Very nice guy but no shots yet as he works on film not digital - am waiting with baited breath really. I am also waiting to get the disposables done as I want to sit and look at them all together with DH over a nice meal and glass of wine. I have had a few people send me digital shots but no one else really did close ups.

The poses did not take long as we were a small group. Photograperher did say that with big parties he needs an hour or more just to take all the shots on the brides list. That is before any last minute group shots etc. Ours took quite a few off the cuff pictures of DD running about with her Cousins on the lawn as we had extra tie to fill, I can't wait to see some of them

Dropdeadfred · 14/08/2008 09:50

Thanks Cautious...

TSM - I loved her Next Dress...I actually bought it in 6-7 months before the wedding the sale for about £7.50 and her shoes were half price from there to. The sizes were generous, but as it was a tie back you could fit it ifykwim, the length was long, but suited her...she also had a little gold bolero jacket that she wouldn't take off for love or money once on!!!

MerlinsBeard · 14/08/2008 10:49

will do a proper reply soon. just wanted to let you know i had seen your messages.

Went dress shopping with my sister (bridesmaid) yesterday but as my gran had died on tuesday neither of us was really in the mood for it.

saralou · 14/08/2008 10:56

i've got my flower girl (well i say flower girl - she's 3 weeks old at the moment!!) and pageboy outfits from next... but their not on the site anymore!

1 of my bridesmaids dress came from monsoon.. again not on the site anymore

the other bridesmaid i have no idea.. i have no say apparently (damn dp's family) i asked to go get a particular one (they live in london - we don't) and, well their being very unhelpfull!! in fact i'm not really sure if she is my bridesmaid or not still! (since i wouldn't let her have the dress she wanted!!!)

today, i can't work out how to download music from a website... i've picked my music, but 2 of the songs i don't have and i'm wasting money trying to do it!!!! i'm technophobic and dp has gone to sleep and won't help me!!!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 14/08/2008 11:48

MoM - sorry about your gran

CMOC - have we seen your pics yet ?? Or are we waiting for the official ones ?

Thanks for the all the info on flowergirl dresses. I've found a couple I like the look of so need to decide which to order. If they're no good, I'll go for the Next ones...

Went and had our 3 month meeting with the hotel yesterday (and paid 50% of the money ) and I'm in the process of writing invites at the moment. I've also seen some shoes on ebay which I'm desperate for. Auction ends on Sunday
