Tilly - yes I am waiting for the official ones [nervous grin] I ahve a few from rellies but they are not that great!

On Flower girls have a look in a Monsoon shop. I wish I had been in one before buying my dress! The girl in the shop was great and found loads in the back that were on sale but as it was not sale time weren't on the rails. She brought out this green/Blue dress and I bought it before I even put it on her (in my head). She has very light red hair and it just looked beautiful against her hair and skin.

MIL was a bit peed off as she had chosen something else and bought it already

MoM - so sorry about your Gran. Drink a toast to her at your Wedding.

I can never keep up with this thread

Here are my latest planning pictures.

I have been wrapping presents and making tags for them tonight, am sick of writing our names !!

Oh and you are talking bridesmaids dresses?
My big ones are by a company called true bride and my little ones are being custom made for me by a shop in Liverpool called Brial Veils, I am a massive ponce and am spending a small fortune on them

TillyScoutsmum · 15/08/2008 08:30

Smurfgirl - your planning pics are great. So much attention to detail. You're brilliantly organised. Love the centrepieces - very similar to someone elses on here (think it may have been Babyinacorner). We need to do a wedding post box and I am so unartistic, I was literally going to just cut a slot in a cardboard box with a label on, but you've put me to shame now

I've ordered my flowergirl dresses - will see now whether they're any good (I didn't think I was a fussy mare, but the ones I've just sent back just looked a bit cheap and nasty..) I've gone for silver rather than trying to match the red on my dress. here

Keep your fingers crossed that I get my shoes. They're lush

omg smurfgirl ,are you the most organised bride in the world??? i also love your centrepieces!!!

tsm, your flowergirl dresses are lovely! i hope they look as lovely when they arrive!

MoM i'm sorry too about your gran.

today i've been looking for craft shops.. spent all afternoon driving around (monkey boy free today!!!) the 2 i knew of have closed down.. and the 3rd one i couldn't find.. just looked on the web and it's in a garden centre! i wasn't looking for a garden centre!! i feel like i've wasted a day! althouh i did manage to buy vases!!

i have to make the place cards and (after looking at smurfgirls organiser) i need to make a post box!! and stuff to make the centre pieces!

no idea how i'm gonna fit all this in as i have to go back to work sunday after 3 weeks off!!

callmeovercautious · 15/08/2008 23:13

Can I suggest a table with a nice matching cover and some flowers/balloons and then a box on that? We did a just giving page rather than asking for pressies and did a little reception table for gifts not expecting much, but we did have lots of cards which people left on the table. We put a gift wrapped box on it so it gave the guests a hint It helped me as I did not have to hold onto them as lots of people arrived for the "afters" at the same time.

Our photos have arrived and I am quite relieved, although my hair had gone flat in the heat and I had suspected I just have paper proofs atm but will post some soon. There are some great action shots of DD and the backdrop is fantastic - wait until you see it

I hope everyone else is remaining calm. We are booking our late deal UK honeymoon this weekend so I may need advice.....

teafortwo · 15/08/2008 23:42

Where are you planning on going for your honeymoon, comeovercautious? Don't worry - we promise not to turn up!

callmeovercautious · 15/08/2008 23:50

Well I love the Norfolk coast but I know it all back to front. Whereas DH is from Ireland and his Parents are over there so we were considering comining a 2 week trip - a few days with them and a week on the coast then back to them for a few days.

Then again Spain looks good

DD needs to come along so I will need a cottage or appartment with a separate room for her travel cot. Anywhere really.

teafortwo · 16/08/2008 00:00

I love the Norfolk coast too. We considered going to Blakney or Southwold in Suffolk for our 'honeymoon' but it poured down the week after our marriage so we decided not to go in the end!

I would love to visit Ireland but have never been so can't give any advice... hey.... Spain does sound good.... I am going to Seville later in the year - It looks like a super cool Honeymoon spot... or what about Barcelona???? Barcelona is so so so fab fab fab!!!!

callmeovercautious · 16/08/2008 00:36

We always wanted to do Barcelona pre DD and never did it. I just think she would be bored dragging around a City with us. Not too sure she would like Tapas either

TillyScoutsmum · 16/08/2008 08:09

Ooh CMOC - I love Ireland. Seville is stunning as well. I don't know the Norfolk coast at all unfortunately. I'm a big fan of the Lakes though and Devon/Cornwall coast. How exciting

Can't wait to see your pics

teafortwo · 16/08/2008 11:18

How old is your dd?

We took our dd to Barcelona on the night train when she was 7 months old. It was great! She loved all the people watching, the markets, the beach and the parks. She is two now and I would happily take her there today! It is a very human city so of course very nice for children.

My trip to Seville is going to be with one of my dearest friends - she wanted to organise a hen night for me. I crack under attention and she hadn't left herself any time to organise this (she suggested it under two weeks before the wedding and none of my friends and family live remotely near one and other) so as a get out (and get in I love to travel) I suggested to her that her and I had a late hen weekend away together instead. I was secretly hoping on Istanbul but She decided upon Seville. So... TSM sounds like you have been there... where and what would you recommend?

I was thinking.... Maybe.... seeing as we never made it to the Norfolk or Suffolk coast.... I will get to go to Istanbul as a late honeymoon if I drop it into conversation enough with dh!!!

callmeovercautious · 16/08/2008 20:49

T42 are you taking your DD on honeymoon? Everyone seems to think we are mad! However I would miss her so much if we left her at my Mums. Plus Mum would have to take leave from work. We are planning a weekend away as well though when we will leave DD behind.

teafortwo · 16/08/2008 21:32

cmoc - No plan for a honeymoon at the moment but if we were to have one dd would definately be there!

We strongly felt that having a child and living together our marriage was not a new beginning but a confirmation of our love for each other and our child (and meant we'd be taxed less ). For me it would be wrong if dd was not there - th marriage was as much about her as me and dh!

If that is how you feel too... well... that is how you feel! Life is not a show so ignore the critics!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 17/08/2008 20:57

T42 - I was doing some promotions work in Seville for Expo in 1992 (I was a mere slip of a teeanager - oh soooo long ago ) so can't really remember much of where to go, what to do though. I do remember it was a lovely city though and have subsequently been to Madrid and Barcelona and still think Seville is my fave Spanish city.

Oooh - I got my shoes from ebay by the way. they're here and I LOVE them. Just hope they fit now

If I'm on here in the next few days - you have permission to kick me off because I'm supposed to be getting invites out (dull dull dull)

MerlinsBeard · 17/08/2008 21:42

Smurfgirl...how organised are you?!!! thats a LOT of planning lol! Whats a wedding post box by the way?

I have my dress now and my bridesmaids dress and mu mums co ordinating dress - phew thats the biggies out of the way!!(that was my exciting news - well it made me excited anyway!)

teafortwo · 17/08/2008 22:39

TSM - wow fabtastic shoes!!!!!

mumofmonster - aw aw aw - that is exciting!!!! I remember the day I bought the dress I got married in home I did a fashion show for my dh 2 b - we decided it wasn't bad luck if it isn't a bridal gown.... I have no idea how you are all keeping your dress a secret from your dhs 2 b I lasted approx 4 and a half minutes!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 18/08/2008 08:26

Hi MoM - come on then - show us your dresses. We need to see

T42 - no secret here. DP has seen photos of me in the dress (the ivory version though) and the pics on the website. He'll more than likely see it on me once it arrives

Oh - a wedding postbox - its just a box for guests to put cards into - just keeps them all in one place instead of sprawled loose over a "present table" - less likely to get lost and easier to move about. A bit more secure as well if anyone is giving vouchers or similar.

MerlinsBeard · 18/08/2008 11:45

Who was the list maker?! i made my 'ultimate list' and worried i may have missed something off!! I seem to gone into panic mode now i have started to do things !

Hopefully DP doesn't read MN but here is my dress i didn't want anything too fancy. the back is the same as the bridesmaids dress. My sis is bridesmaid.

mum is wearing this she wanted to co ordinate

MerlinsBeard · 18/08/2008 11:47

by the way - debenhams has a MASSIVE sale on at the moment. especially on bridal. My dress was no where near £110 that it says on the link - and she took 10% off because i will need to have it cleaned as its a bit grubby (£29.70)

IllegallyBrunette · 18/08/2008 11:51

Not a bride, but I am being bridesmaid for my friend on Friday and I am slightly terrified LOL.

Have been practising walking slowly but I naturally walk quite quickly so not sure I can manage it.

TillyScoutsmum · 18/08/2008 12:09

MoM - the dresses are lovely. I'm sure there was someone else on here who had the same (or v.similar) wedding dress ? Will have a think because I think they're already married and we saw the pics. It looked really classy and beautiful.

I have lists... No - actually - I am much much sadder than that - I have spreadsheets Loads of them. For budget, for guest lists (keep track of RSVP's), for everything. I really need to get out more

Hiya - IllegallyBrunette - I think I remember your thread about being really nervous. Do you know what music you're walking in to ? Maybe if you did, you could practice to that (its much easier walking slowly if there is a beat iyswim ?). Have you got a pic of your bm dress ? Where's the wedding ?

OP posts:
MerlinsBeard · 18/08/2008 12:53

you have spreadsheets??

Confession: If i had a spreadsheet programme, i think i would too

actually - i wonder if i do have a spreadsheet programme? I hve works on this puter...

G2B · 18/08/2008 13:08
