TSM, it's here and it's lovely! took me about 10 mins to figure out how to put it on, then i panicked it was too big, then i realised it still wasn't fitted right!

but then i got it on properly and it really is nice!!!!

it really does stay up on it's own!

anyway i'm off to my mums now (babysitter of dress) to see how it goes with the dress... aka any excuse to try my dress on again!!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/08/2008 13:16

Hello BlueDragonfly. You must spend 5 minutes in the naughty corner, then you have to come out and tell us all about your wedding (with pics where possible). Told you we were nosey

saralou - glad it looks good. How long did it take to arrive ? Think my dress is due at the end of September, so I want to time it so I can try it on with the dress, but not too late to return it if it doesn't go iyswim

Bluedragonfly - what is a 'fancy' day???

saralou · 07/08/2008 15:51

TSM, i ordered it maybe 3/4 weeks ago ish (my lifes a bit mental at the moment) she has different postage options, again i went for the cheapest (has anyone else noticed that they bump the delivery charges up just 'cause it's a wedding!)

it goes with my dress nicely!!! just need to get some jewellry and my outfit is sorted!!!!!

BlueDragonfly · 07/08/2008 15:58

Fancy day = with all the trimmings

ours is a credit crunch wedding.

nothing set in stone yet so no pics. only confirmed yesterday - 29th NOvember!

Dropdeadfred · 07/08/2008 16:00

Well I guess you could say I am having a fancy day (80 day guests, three course dinner, magician, roulette table and fireowrks in the evening)...but we are all having different days on this thread and we all love hearing about each oters so whatever the size and budget everyone is welcome here!!

BlueDragonfly · 07/08/2008 16:05

a roulette table! thats original and fun too!!

is there a list of dates somewhere?

Dropdeadfred · 07/08/2008 16:08

mine is saturday!!!

BlueDragonfly · 07/08/2008 16:09

SATURDAY!!!!!!!!

saralou · 07/08/2008 16:14

i'm having a cheap wedding!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/08/2008 16:30

Bluedragonfly - you're getting married the same day as me

Everyone's having different types of day/budgets etc. We're doing late pm ceremony, then straight on to an evening party (no sit down, no speeches, no favours etc.) I've gone for a "weddingy" dress but wasn't intending to originally. What sort of thing are you thinking of

Right will do a new date list

DDF - any chance of a sit down yet ? Blimey - fireworks, magician, roulette and those shoes. Are you gonna be in Hello magazine It all sounds brill

OP posts:
BlueDragonfly · 07/08/2008 16:33

TSM - I sat down and had my nails done today....and answered loads of emails!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 07/08/2008 17:12

Ah ! It'll all be worth it come Saturday though

Right - I've seen some shoes on ebay I like. They're worn and have slight marks on heel - but I'm not too bothered because I'll be sending them off to get dyed red so that should cover it. What sort of bid do you reckon I should put in ? I'm a bit of an ebay novice shoes here

OP posts:
saralou · 07/08/2008 17:33

you forgot me.. and for some reason my dumb compooter won't let me cut & paste!!!

saralou - 30th sept

TSM, shoes are lovely, gold and red is so nice together! i'm a novice too, but you need to keep a watch on it and only start bidding at the end really, just go £1 higher than the previous bidder! only done it a couple of times though!

saralou · 07/08/2008 17:36

ha, just looked again and their actually ivory! d'oh!

TSM are they suitable for dying? some are some aren't i think - but i may be completely wrong on that...

Sorry saralou - knew I'd forget someone

I'm pretty sure most satin shoes can be dyed - bit risky I suppose but if I couldn't, then ivory wouldn't be the end of the world .... Hmmmmm

stretchmarkqueen · 07/08/2008 22:53

BIAC congrats!! The photos are stunning. It looks like you had a lovely day!

teafortwo · 08/08/2008 00:09

Welcome Blue - I especially like the non fancy wedings as mine was majorly non fancy - look back in the thread for info... and then please tell all about yours!!!

Baby - seriously, what can I say??? Your photos are remarkable! Remarkable photos of a remarkable day in a remarkable place. I think the details - the stones for place settings, your pretty shoes and the beautiful flowers were very nice but not what is most outstanding for me. Let me explain...

What stood out was something more important. On those pictures there seems to be so many wonderful people and a genuine feeling of love all around. For me that is what makes a really special wedding. To achieve a wedding like that I think you, dh and you little one must be pretty special in the fist place. Wishing you many congratulations and much happiness as you continue with your lives together!

teafortwo · 08/08/2008 00:10

ddfred, hope you had a lovely day!

i made a to do list friday, then went into panic mode, i've been cruising along saying it's all organised and their was just bits to do... i have now realised how much their is to do!!!

do any of you ladies know anything about plants... i was thinking as a present for my mum and his mumi could get something like these then i could also use them as decorations in the restaurant aswell

only i'm not very green fingered - my mum is but i can't exactly ask her! are olive trees easy to care for and are they ok for outside in the winter?
