'ello Tilly!

I wanted to show you this - www.ulrikabogo.com/ Go to collections, then pastels, then Lamia. My sister is having that made in light brown with a cream trim for my daughter to be her bridesmaid. She is going to be holding a cream teddy bear (my sister's from when she was a little girl) with little roses around its neck!

Also for hair ideas - my sister is thinking of buying these for herself and bridesmaids... www.foxjewellery.com/erol.html#99X0

teafortwo · 22/07/2008 21:11

p.s when I said "she is going to be holding a cream teddy bear" I meant my daughter not my sister!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 22/07/2008 21:16

Awww - that dress is gorgeous and holding a teddy will be so cute (and a lot less likely to get wrecked than flowers).. Some pretty stuff on that website as well

I hope Babyinacorner comes and shows us her pics soon

Are your other ones ready yet ?

TillyScoutsmum - I thought I would find you on here Thanks for helping with the music it is now all sorted. I have even found a good DJ - at a slightly inflated price due to the last minute booking I think!

I have lurked around here for a while but my Wedding is so small and basic I felt a bit shy.

TillyScoutsmum · 22/07/2008 21:27

Hello .. I was going to point you in the direction of this thread but didn't want to be pushy (makes a change )

But now you're here - I will not be able to stop myself being very nosey and asking for all the details..

So - 1st August isn't it ?? Tell us all about it - (with pics/links when possible)... What sort of do ? Dress ? Bridesmaids etc etc

Don't be shy ... Lots of ladies having/had small weddings. Teafortwo basically eloped to London with dd and a couple of friends. Foxymolly is doing similar in Cornwall. I'm having more people but not having a big traditional wedding - just doing the legal bit and then having a big party (no sit down meal, speeches or any of that)

OP posts:
teafortwo · 22/07/2008 21:42

callmeovercautious - welcome!!!!

Thanks for writing a message - now you must tell all - clothes, venue, how you are celebrating... no detail too small!!!!

teafortwo · 22/07/2008 21:57

Tilly - I have told Broc about this thread... I am hoping she will pop in to say hello... she is having a quiet wedding like cmoc!

TillyScoutsmum · 22/07/2008 21:59

t42 - have you seen this ? last page I saw it all kick off last night and did wonder what was happening.

Foxy - are you still here ? If people are wrong, get over to the thread and defend yourself.

OP posts:
teafortwo · 22/07/2008 22:59

aaaahhh ok thanks tsm!!! - There is a thread I just added to because someone was saying who are all these new people? I introduced myself because I am new and left a cheeky message "sorry if us year sevens are annoying you sixth formers". I was a bit confused! People keep mentioning trolls tonight and I don't really understand what a troll is (have guessed it means someone who is using mn to plug stuff - am I right?) and there is even a thread on starting a new website like this one(???) - Alors je pense que j'etais trés naive avec ce message, la situation etant plus compliquee que prevu! Mes je ne comprehend pas???

Anyway... I hope Foxy is still around... and all is well with her! She really has been very nice and a real shinning star on this thread!!! Please Foxy - come here and chat with us!

TillyScoutsmum · 22/07/2008 23:04

A troll is someone who basically just comes on under a fake name and make inflammatory comments to wind people up... Usually school kids or similar but sometimes a "regular" poser who hides behind a name change ...

OP posts:
teafortwo · 22/07/2008 23:16

oooh - thanks - and they think foxy changed her name and was nasty???

I am all confused!!!

callmeovercautious · 22/07/2008 23:17

Gosh - looks like I have fallen into a right web of intrigue

I have been around long enough to know it is easy to be labeled a touble maker by accident. Foxy on here sounds nice enough - I am sure it was just a misunderstanding.

So to the wedding business

1st August. 12 people for register office "do". Nice meal afterwards then big party in the evening. I am wearing a simple Debenhams dress (talked out of a trouser suit by some friends). DD has a lovely Monsoon flower girl dress with ballet pumps.

It has all been a bit last minute as I proposed on 29th Feb (after more than a decade of being together) so I am just hoping and praying it all goes OK

This is where lots of MNetters realise they do know me

So 10 days to go - what are the top tips for last minute "to dos"?

differentID · 22/07/2008 23:25

Pamper yourself!

teafortwo · 22/07/2008 23:45

coac... wow... sounds lovely - last minute does on this thread involve posting links (we are crazy about them) to your dress and dds dress so we can all ooooh and aaaah like a bunch of old Aunts!!!! - Please, please, please!!!

BTW... Thanks for your advice on the confusion - lets drink tea chat weddings and hope it will sort itself out. Foxy changes her name a lot because she has moments of shyness I think this understandable habit has somehow got people confused and she has accidently been labelled a trouble maker!

Also more info please... are you having flowers, who are your guests? Friends? Family? Where is the dinner and party? - Don't panic we aren't going to turn up - we just want to get excited about it all with you! !!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 23/07/2008 09:43

T42 - as CMOC says - its easy to jump to conclusions and Foxy has been great on this thread

CMOC - wedding sounds great... Glad DJ is sorted - have you got a first dance ?

And you proposed ?! Wow I think I remember the thread now

differentID · 23/07/2008 18:20

lol t42.

tiredemma · 23/07/2008 18:22

Can I 'pop' in? Haven't set a confirmed date yet, but intend to get hitched in 2010.

stretchmarkqueen · 23/07/2008 20:40

HELLLLLLLLLLLP! Ok, if you remember, I was debating what colour, if any, veil I should have with this dress.

Now the veil has arrived I have tried it on with my dress, (any excuse!!), and I can't decided if it goes!! I have pics, if somewhat blurry, my 6 year old took them!! They are on my profile. Please look.....honest opinions please, I'm not easily offended!

Disclaimer: That's not an open invitation to try to offend me!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 23/07/2008 21:01

Hi ya stretchmarkqueen - calm down dear

OK - I can't see the pics very well but from what I can see, I think the veil looks good... They're both quite neutral colours so they don't clash or anything. The dress looks great on as well

And your dc's are gorgeous - all that beyooootiful red hair

Hello tiredemma - welcome.

T42 - I think you scared cmoc off with your crazy stalking

OP posts:
flamingnora · 23/07/2008 22:13

TillySoutsmum - thanks for your invite to me, the latent Bridezilla! Guys, I have jut had the most unromantic non-proposal from my partner & think we'll be getting hitched in the Winter of 2009. PLEASE help me keep a lid on things and stop going bonkers (to be honest I think events will conspire to keep me sane - returning to work week after next & think getting myself organised will be the most pressing !). No engagement ring, no date set, have our eyes on a venue but only DP can book this as it's his old college & outsiders can't do it - needless to say he has done nothing!

callmeovercautious · 23/07/2008 23:23

at the stalker comment. I have been at work today and DD has been a bit unsettled so just logged back on. I don't get scared of MNetters - I am made of tough stuff (sometimes).
Hello tiredmamma - I recognise you from other threads - this lot seem friendly enough

Stretchmarkqueen - the veil is fab - and redheads are a personal favourite of mine.

Congratulations to flamingnora too.

So you can know all about me here it is in one very long tale:

DPs original proposal was a bit wet as well. He suggested we get engaged about 2-3 years after we got together, we met at Uni. We were friends for a while and kind of drifted to each other. We moved in together after we graduated by default rather then romance and then I think he realised I was too good to lose He went and got me an amazing ring and proposed on Christmas Eve 2007. He said "CMOC will you marry me? - in about 10 years?" he then laughed a lot as he had been drinking. I said yes - and kind of lived in happy "I am engaged status" for many years. Then DD came along in 2006 and I realised at the Hospital that I was quite upset; the band going on her wrist had my name not his. I remember telling the MW they had it wrong (too much G&A) she was very nice but said quite firmly that she was legally my Child not his.

That was a bit of a kick up the backside really. DP said several times that we "should get around to it" but knowing he is the worlds biggest procrastinator I grabbed the chance of this being a leap year and re-proposed My excuse being that as it was now 2008 he was in breach of promise as he had said 10 years and we were now in year 11

Thankfully he said yes and I have been a Bridezilla ever since.

Dress simple

Flowers - Canna Lily 3 piece bouquet, DD has 1 as a wand.

DD - Monsoon dress no longer on website but is absolutely lovely on her.

Registry office with just family, nice meal afterwards at a local restaurant. Then big Party for friends and family (and Children!) at a local social club hall. I have a fantastic catering company doing a huge cold buffet but we are not doing a cake and speeches as we want a Party not anything too formal. DD will crash when she wants to and I have a list of volunteers to come away early to babysit if needs be.

God I am looking forward to it now I have written it all out!

Sorry to blast you all with all the details.

teafortwo · 23/07/2008 23:24

Hi Flamingnora... congratulations and welcome!!!!

urrrrrrmmmm.... cmoc sorry for scary questions!!! Please come back!!!!

callmeovercautious · 23/07/2008 23:29

I think I X posts with you T42 - see last mega post

How are your plans going?

teafortwo · 23/07/2008 23:42

aha aha aha... how funny!!!

It is lovely to hear about your plans. It sounds like a very nice wedding and your dress is subtle and sophsticated.

I actually got married earlier this month but hang around being nosey and chatting about this and that!!!! Look back on this thread to see info about my, differentid and smallships weddings if you want to know more about earlier weddings.
