Thanks TSM, i was a bit worried about the dress colour, but it looked better than i thought.

TillyScoutsmum · 15/07/2008 21:47

Blimey - PP - I'm sorry to hear about your dp's redundancy. What shitty timing I suppose at least at this late stage, most of your wedding is paid for (or accounted for). I'm sure you'll have a fantastic day. Everything sounds lovely

There's a couple of ladies getting married in August (but they haven't been on for a while). Then Foxymolly is September and I'm not until end of November.

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 22:05

Smallships wow wow wow... what a dress - if I wasn't married already your dress would have converted me to a real wedding dress!!!

So, so,so... panicpants... what can I say??? - Your wedding sounds sweet but I am really sorry about dps job - what a nightmare for you! Please stick around on this thread a bit... this one has some real nice mners on it and I think you are going to like it here!!! Pull up a chair and bring a drink!

teafortwo · 16/07/2008 11:44

RAH!!! Bad news - My dd was sick again this morning!!! Panicpants please send links to your dress, bridesmaid dresses and place you are getting married to cheer us up!!!

Good news - Mr beer42 told all his work mates about us getting hitched and they want to organise a night in a restaurant to congratulate us - aaawwww... really nice, hey?!!?

I am overwhelmed by how lovely everyone is being about our quiet wedding!

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 13:12

T42 - poor dd I'm really bad with sick - just can't cope with it and have to call dp . God help us if she's ever sick whilst he's not here

Lovely news about having a night out with work mates... I reckon you've got this wedding thing sussed... Most of us organise one big day with lots of people and you have a lovely intimate romantic ceremony and then get to have about hundred mini celebrations after

Yes - PP - links please. Come on - we'll get you in the wedding mood, in spite of the crappy stuff that's going on

What about music ? Readings ? First dance etc What grub are you having (vitally important bit imho )

OP posts:
teafortwo · 16/07/2008 14:55

Thanks tsm we are trying to be strong with the sickness bug business!!!!

TSM - I don't know if you have told us about your readings... are you having any if so what? And who is reading it?

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 16:57

T42 - not decided for definite on readings. Have two I quite like but dp's not keen (on readings as a concept - not these specifically). Think we would probably have mine and dp's brother doing them

Anyone want to help me out on a bit of dilemma with my dress (bit dull and no rush ...) ?

LMG - any pics from your dress trying on session ? Have you made any decisions.

Foxy - have you done anything more re: clothes for dp, flowers etc. Forgot to say, photographer looks good. Glad you got it sorted

OP posts:
teafortwo · 16/07/2008 17:01

My dd is asleep again... could really do with a dress dilemma TSM!

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 17:12

OK - you asked for it !

I want something to go over my dress to keep me warm and also because I'm not keen on my back and want to cover it up.. Because its a winter wedding, I fancied a faux fur shrug type thing but now I'm worried that I'll look like Father (Mother ?) Christmas because my dress is red and all the faux fur things are white/ivory.

fur thing

dress colour just as a reminder) So - do you think it would look odd ? Or do you think I'd do better with a satin shrug and if so, what colour should I go for ? [[http://www.wraporshrug.co.uk/products/duchesssatin/ available colours here

I even considered lace but not sure if that would work.

lace example

Told you it was a dull one

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 17:14

Sorry messed that up

The satin ones with available colours are here

OP posts:
teafortwo · 16/07/2008 17:33

WOW!!! I had forgotten how stunning your dress colour is!!!

Very sexy!!! Mmm.... something for shoulders... ok...I think the satin one is safe... the fur one is fun and the lace is v Victorian - so v cool at moment. Please post the dress shape as well - I can't remember exactly what it looked like!

See what the other ladies think as I am finding it hard to decide which I like best too!!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 17:34

Glad its not just me being indecisive then

this is the dress

Anyone else ? please

OP posts:
teafortwo · 16/07/2008 17:39

The dress is quite subtle in style - so I think the satin which is also subtle would be best!

But this is from the woman who got married in flip-flops and has no idea about bridal fashion!!!! So maybe you should wait for the others too before making any purchases!!!

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 17:41

Thanks T42 - not ordering anything yet (at least not until pay day !) but just like to get these things sorted in my head, you know

So do you think ivory satin then ? Thought gold might look good but I don't really "do" yellow gold jewellery etc so might look odd. Hmmmmm

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 17:42

God - have just read back and I'm turning into a Bridezilla !! I am - I'm there. I'll be worrying about the bridesmaids knickers matching the napkins next

I do have a tendency to over think things

OP posts:
teafortwo · 16/07/2008 17:53

aha aha aha - you make me laugh so much!!!!

Mmm.... yes... ivory I think.... or champagne looks pretty?

Must dash - French class tonight bye tsm!!

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 19:46

A toute a l'heure

OP posts:
foxymolly · 16/07/2008 19:51

Hi Bridezilla I agree with T42 and think satin as well. I have no idea about colour, you've chosen nearly every outfit at my wedding so as you might have guessed I'm not very good at that sort of thing!

I tried looking for florists but I couldn't find any online and it all got very confusing as all I could find was people that delivered to Cornwall .. at least I don't think they were actually based in Cornwall. I gave up. I'm gonna have to wait till I'm there, maybe I could print pictures off and take them with me.

I Ordered a brochure with a booking form in it for dp suit but that was over a week ago but it hasn't arrived.

We having a very short reading at the end of our wedding, its a traditional cornish saying thats said by the registar, its quite nice.

Tilly I heart your dress!

T42 - I hope your dd is feeling a bit better tomorrow

TillyScoutsmum · 16/07/2008 20:09

Thanks Foxy

How long are you in Cornwall for before your wedding day ?

OP posts:
foxymolly · 16/07/2008 20:15

Our first day in Cornwall is monday and the wedding is on Saturday.
I was thinking of sorting everything out on Tuesday and then picking it (suit and flowers) up on the Friday, What do you think?

Have you decided on flowers, dp's outfit, music?

We can't have pick our own music

PanicPants · 16/07/2008 20:16

Tilly your dress is beautiful and the colour is stunning. I agree with the others about the satin, but also think the fur would be lovely as well.

I'll try to do a link for my dress - but the picture on line is rubbish, it looks nothing like the real thing!

foxymolly · 16/07/2008 20:17

ooohhh would love to see your dress pp!

PanicPants · 16/07/2008 20:22

Here it is dress

I'd forgoton how horrible the picture is. I honestly wouldn't think it was the same dress in real life!

PanicPants · 16/07/2008 20:24

foxymolly - how come you're going to cornwall to get married? (Sorry I haven't read the whole thread).

foxymolly · 16/07/2008 20:33

I think that dress is beautiful pp, are you wearing white? What are your bridesmaid's wearing .. I'm very nosey!

We are kinda eloping to Cornwall, we haven't told our families only our closest friends who are coming with us. I couldn't deal with the hassle of a big wedding with both families involved - my worst nightmare!

This way its just us, It was meant to be a simple wedding but then Tilly got involved!
