Ok prepare yourselfs... its long!

So Thursday night me and the CBM was taken out for a meal by the best man, was very nice, my entire family joined us, i got a bit drunk (i do not recommend this), finally rolled in at 1am, we had the best man, 2 x SIL, Niece, 4 x sailor friends staying at ours. I stayed there, i was too drunk too move lol.

Went to bed, couldnt sleep, had a bath at 3am and then a shower at 5am, by 6 i was nervous so i went for a walk down the seafront, and had my breakfast overlooking the sea on a big rock. Went home, got my stuff together and took DD to my mums. My hairdresser came and did my hair and kept me calm, at 3pm realised if i didnt put my dress on i would be late, so i got dressed, and finally got into the jag. Got to the registry office, had to park 5 minutes away, hobbled in my shoes round the corner when the photographer decided she wanted a photo, and they drove the car round grrrr. Had a few more photos whilst the groom had his interview. At this point my DS was carried around the corner by a strange man, he had run off and NOBODY decided to bloody go after him! 30 people supposed to be keeping an eye on him, ....

Finally got called in, best man took me round a corner, looking like he was about to cry (i thought the groom had done a runner), the CD with all our music had broken... we walked down the aisle to silence, luckily we hardly noticed. Had a lovely ceremony, the kids were yelling and running around, it was funny though. Then had a load more photos taken and left to go to the reception.

Reception was decorated soooooo nicely, we had a glass of pimms on arrival and the Groom and i, also had a glass of champagne, then sat down to the BEST fish i have ever eaten, my dress was so tight i couldnt eat it all though . Had the speeches, all our friends came and it was fab, at 2am everyone except 15 sailors and a few friends were left, we sat around a table drinking rum and talking, it was great. Got to bed at 5am, woken up at 7am by a drunk sailor, trampled over bodies to get to the kitchen, we all had bacon and sausage sandwiches for breakfast. Then alot of people went home, it left us with 7 sailors and 1 of my friends from home, so we went down the pub, stayed there all day and night, just sat around talking. It was without a doubt the best weekend of my life, i was so sad on sunday when everyone went home, but me and the husband went to a posh hotel and did the romantic part lol.

Wow i have waffled on, ive missed loads out, but it was great, dont worry about things going wrong, you wont care!

SmallShips · 15/07/2008 11:22

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 15:52

Hello Foxy,

My dd has been sick for two days - We want more of ss's pics too - I think it will cheer us up a bit!!!

Has your photographer got a website Foxy - I would love to see the style you went for!

Look at the most recent photos on our photographers website... 2nd pic down is breath-taking - It is the sexiest and most gothic wedding photo I have ever seen!!! Impressive!

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 15:55

Mind you - ss's photos so far were quite impressive too with all those sweet sailors and that beautiful dress, flowers and pretty hairstyle!!!! Just not enough of them ss we want more!!!!!

foxymolly · 15/07/2008 16:25

Hey T42

this is the website of the photographer T42, though to be honest I picked him more to do with price was a very important factor in picking him

Hows your dd now? Hope shes feeling better, how are you? Does it feel different now your a married lady?!

foxymolly · 15/07/2008 16:26

That was a very jumbled post!

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 17:04

Ha ha ha!!!

She keeps going "bread" "apple" "milk" but if she eats anything we see it again - eeeewww!

Your pictures website certainly cheered us up - it is a fun, colourful style - cute!

To be honest we have lived as if we were married for ages - it feels the same. Apart from when I say "My husband" I feel a bit happy inside thinking about our wedding day rather than a bit guilty because actually calling him "husband" wasn't technically true before (but I used to say it as it summed up neatly what this person I was talking about was to me)!!!

Do you all think you will feel different or differentid and smallships seeing as you are married now feel different???

foxymolly · 15/07/2008 18:15

Like you we've lived like husband and wife for ages so I can't see it making a difference, although it will feel nice that its all official. Dp keeps saying 'you'll be my wife soon' with a silly grin on his face so he might feel it more than me IYKWIM. He hates calling me his girlfriend because he says it makes him feel about twelve! On the other hand I think being called 'Mrs' will make me feel really grown up and I'm not sure I like that!

for you dd, its horrible when they're ill.

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 18:47

Thanks Foxy!

differentID · 15/07/2008 19:25

It does feel a bit different. I think it's because we are now legally man and wife rather than live-in partners. This probably seems strange, but I feel personally from the customer service dealings I've had that Mrs commands more respect than just Miss. I don't know if it's because I'm feeling more confident being Mrs, or what.
Oh dear t42. I hope her tummy settles down soon.

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 19:32

differentID I changed my name from Miss T42 to Ms t42 when dd was born. I found that very liberating but haven't yet had to deal with anything as Mrs beer4two!!! So maybe I will love that.

Thanks for your kind words as regards my munchkin she has picked up a bit in the last hour - thank goodness!!!!

differentID · 15/07/2008 19:35

And by tomorrow she'll be eating your fridge empty no doubt.

teafortwo · 15/07/2008 19:38

You are right!!!

Must go now have to help dp measure the bed - I don't understand either!!!!

PanicPants · 15/07/2008 19:49

Right, well here goes!

Getting married a week on Saturday. In a church, followed by reception at a golf club (very pretty though).

I picked up my dress today and have stored it at my Mums.
Its an Alfred Angelo dress, ivory, strapless with embroidery. Quite simple, A line style. Has a small train.

I have 1 adult bridesmaid, and 2 small bridesmaid, with ds being a page boy.

My flowers are 2 types of roses in a posey. A pink rose, and an antique sepia colored rose.

Dp is wearing a grey morning suit with pink cravat (ditto ds, my dad and best man)

Ummmm can't think of anything else!

differentID · 15/07/2008 19:56

SOunds gorgeous. What colour are the bm in?

TillyScoutsmum · 15/07/2008 20:12

Your wedding sounds lovely PanicPants... love the sound of antique sepia roses

Next Saturday ? Wow - not long to go now. Are you all sorted ? Nervous ? Are you having a hen do ?

TillyScoutsmum · 15/07/2008 20:12

T42 - hope dd is back to normal soon. Its horrid when they're sick (and clearly hungry)

OP posts:
SmallShips · 15/07/2008 20:53

a few more photos are up ladies

TillyScoutsmum · 15/07/2008 21:23

Smallships - it all looks lovely. The colour of your dress suits you perfectly and I love the flowers... Looks like you had a really great day

Dc's are real cuties as well

OP posts:
PanicPants · 15/07/2008 21:24

Adult bridesmaid in a mushroom/fawn/gold/beige sort of coloured dress which matches the tiny beads on my dress (sounds disgusting but it is lovely honest!) and the 2 little ones are in pink and ivory dresses.

The little bridesmaids and ds will all carry 2 roses each (one of each colour - bound by ribbon) while the older bridesmaid will have a smaller version of my posey.

My hen night was last week (drinks, meal and then dancing) and dp's stag night was on saturday where he went karting, and then into town afterwards.

I am really nervous, but dp was made redundant on Friday (without warning) so in a way the wedding is the last thing on our minds at the moment. On the other hand, it has given me something to take my mind off the redundancy iyswim.

So who else has a wedding soon?
