OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 16:11

I didn't think about the white/ivory thing - glad I didn't bid!

LOL @ It's not ebay!

That dress is gorgeous and its a good price, thats mine and dd's dress you've found Tilly!

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 16:18

this is the suit I like for dp

(fingers crossed this link works!)

What do you think, honestly?

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 17:50

I think its lovely - very smart. Will he go for the frock coat ?? Looks good if he's quite tall... Tails might be better if he's much under 6 ft. Lovely though - you could match the cravat with flowers for you and dd

Ooooh - getting very excited for you now. Can't wait to see pics etc. I'm on hols when you get married so it'll kill me to wait til I get back to hear all about it

OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 18:05

He's 5ft 11, is that tall enough do you think? Love the idea about the flowers.

Where are you off to on your hols?

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 19:25

Sounds like a big strapping lad He'll look fab

Off to Majorca for 2 weeks

Have you found a florist ? If you find a local one with email, you should be able to email a pic of the sort of thing you're thinking of in advance and get a quote that way

OP posts:
PanicPants · 13/07/2008 19:27

Oooh just found this thread. I get married in less than 2 weeks though, so I suppose I'm too late?

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 19:33

No - not too late at all... We need details details details (with pics where possible)

Tell us all about it... Dress? Flowers ? Hair? Type of do? Music ? Hen night plans ? Honeymoon ? Bridemaids etc.

2 weeks to go - how exciting !! Are you all sorted ?

OP posts:
TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 19:34

Gosh - just re-read that and it sounds dead bossy

Would love to see though if you're happy to share

OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 20:03

Not bossy Tilly, just curious!

We love the details Panicpants, the more the better!
Was you thinking about your wedding when you chose your name?

I was going to wait till we were there before I found a florist but its a good idea about getting a quote, will start looking!
I emailed a few photographers today to get a quote, I still wasn't sure about having one but now we're getting all dressed up, I think it'd be a shame not to have proper photo's done. We may never look this smart again!

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 20:34

Ha Ha - that's the problem with dressing up - when we were doing the "informal" thing with me just wearing a party dress, we weren't going to bother with photography, florist etc., but it just sort of spirals ... Great fun though

OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 20:56

I know what you mean about spirralling .. dp's not best pleased at the moment and I have't even mentioned the florists yet!

teafortwo · 13/07/2008 21:44

Hey Foxy... I have bets that by the end of next week your wedding will be the next Charles and Di (your wedding not your marriage - which will obviously be a dream life together - not the horrors they went through)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At last the celebrations with my family are over and we are back home!!! Just two weeks 'til we head to dps hometown to continue with the celebrations there !!!

So, so, so... Hi Panicpants - Can't wait to see how your preparations are going!!!

Will drop in tomorrow to see our clubs latest wedding snaps from ss and gossip and decision making from lmg!!!!

BTW - My sister love love loves her wedding dress! She gave me another fashion show before I left this morning. I thought of you ladies because her dress is boned and fitted at the top, big at the bottom and the colour is off-white... so it is basically like all of yours - funny how similar they all are!!! Look...

So... Cherio - until tomorrow my bride friends!!!!

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 21:52

Stunning dress T42!

I may have to calm down a little in my wedding plans. I've just had a quote back from a photographer in Truro and it was £500! I only wanted photo's outside the registry office and that quote didn't even include prints, only a DVD with the photo's on - I'm still in [shock!]

I'm actually pretty gutted, I could do without flowers and such, but I really wanted professional photo's. I've lost heart now and don't even want to email anyone else.

teafortwo · 13/07/2008 23:23

Foxy - My advice is... explain you don't want a wedding package. Ask for a location portrait session - this is what our photographer worked out after some chat we actually wanted and offered us that! They are much cheaper and so far I am very pleased with the result!

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 23:30

I'll ask for that instead T42 if I can muster the motivation to email anyone else.I'm not asking that photographer again.
I still cant believe that quote. At first he offered me his minimal wedding package which was £895 and then when I explained I only wanted photos after the cereomony and it was only going to be a small group he reduced it £500 which I still think is bloody expensive, esp. as I'm getting a DVD and no prints.

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 23:31

BTW I love your photo's and would love mine to look like that

teafortwo · 13/07/2008 23:53

I love Rebecca's style too. She is an artist who hits the heart, the head and the soul with one click!

With our 'deal' I don't get a cd of our pictures I have to choose and pay individually for prints a bit later. My sister is paying a little bit more than me for her photographer as she gets a wedding package that includes this cd idea you speak of. She is delighted with this!

But, personally, I would rather have a small number of outstanding fine quality art photography prints than a mixture of 200 pictures of groups of people in hats and snaps on a cd. But it ispersonal choice!

I was lucky with my photographer - I went with my heart and was lucky that it suited my wallet too... well that is what I am saying before I see all the photos and buy every single print because I love them all so much!!!!! He he he!!!!!

Keep going with your photographer hunt - I am sure you will find someone - I think the photo plan is a good 'en you just need to find your Rebecca!

TillyScoutsmum · 14/07/2008 09:17

Hey Foxy - don't lose heart - photographer prices vary massively - we had quotes from £350-£1,500 for the same sort of package. Email lots and use the flattery technique i.e. "Have seen your website, love your photos but only having a very small (with x no of people) informal relaxed wedding and don't need a big package - just want maybe an hours worth of attendance for during and after ceremony. Can you do us a deal (bearing in mind its relatively short notice) ?

You'll get someone

OP posts:
foxymolly · 14/07/2008 10:16

Thanks to all your wonderful advice I emailed three photographers and have already heard back from one, who has quoted £200 with 10 prints which I think is a really good price.
He has some beautiful photo's on his website and has been taking photos in cornwall for years as part of the family bussiness so I am over the moon!
Also heard back from the dress people and they say the dress will be with me in 4 weeks, which gives me time to get it altered if I need to.
It's been a good morning!

SS - We're all waiting for your photo's!!

TillyScoutsmum · 14/07/2008 10:30

Yay !! - I love it when a plan comes together

Yes SS - hurry back. I know you're a newly wed and need to spend time with your dh, but we need to see pics

T42 - forgot to say - your sister's dress looks stunning. When she's getting married ? Send her on here

Panicpants - have we scared you off

OP posts:
teafortwo · 14/07/2008 13:27

Hi TSM my sis is getting married Easter 2009 and I don't think she can't come on here because she isn't a Mum yet!!!!

My dd is one of her bridesmaids. She has found a lovely dress for her but I can't send it to you because I accidently deleted it or didn't save it properly into my favourites!!!

Her wedding is going to be at Liverpool Town Hall and unlike me who was still finding something to wear the night before the journey to my wedding (remember the cardi crisis???)she is completely organised and seems very confident about the whole thing!

Her colour theme is cream (her dress), brown (bridesmaid's dresses - one adult one munchkin) and burnt orange (for the flowers -roses and of course my dds beautiful hair!!!).

SmallShips · 14/07/2008 21:43
