LMG - are you taking anyone dress shopping with you ? Take a camera (if that's ok with njm - some shops don't allow it). You end up getting a bit confused and its good to have something to look back on. Also recommend trying on a couple of dresses which are completely different to what you had in mind.

Taking one of my bridesmaids with me, will be taking my camara if it's ok with njm, will be trying on anything njm suggests, I've given her a list of things I'm looking for

I've took pics in quite a few shops, I love looking back at them!

TillyScoutsmum · 11/07/2008 14:24

Have fun - shame I'm not around tomorrow. I'm just down the road from njm's shop. We could have met up for coffee and talked dresses

I'm a bit open to all white, there are possabilities of customising with colour using broaches etc

Bridesmaids dresses.....I'm bringing 1 bridesmaid with me, my sister is a hairdresser so she can't come on saturdays which gives me problems as I work mon to fri, a package might be possible depending on if you have what I'm looking for and the costs of everything, my bridesmaids are paying for their own dresses so it's up to them really. Distance may be an issue as it's a 2hour round trip to you so coming back a lot might be a problem because of the cost of petrol these days but we'll have to see what happens tomorrow!

Actually thinking it might not be as far as I thought, it's a 100 mile round trip so we'll come tomorrow and see how long it takes
My sister does late nights tues and wednesday herself so its a bit tricky, she gets 4 saturdays per year off or I we could try and both book a day off together at some point so sometime in the next year we should be able to sort something I would hope, we're going to have this problem wherever i buy the dresses from.

Free shoes would be a bonus but {whispers} I think I want blue shoes, do you do blue shoes?

Hi NJM,

Just come home and looked at the photo's, your shop is gorgeous, you must be so proud!
I loved the relaxed but professional atmosphere and for a couple of hours I felt like I was the only bride to be getting married ever! Thank you!

Feeling shattered now going to lie down before we go out for dinner!

I'll be in touch soon when I've showed my mum and sis the pics we'll see if we can pop over again.

Thanks for today, we had a really fab day!

Ooooooooohhh - sounds like you had a fab day. We were feeling all weddingy today too as my lil' sister did a fashion show of her wedding dress today (- she looks like a movie star in it - beautiful, glamourous and tear inducing) at our last and biggest bbq party to celebrate our wedding.

So so so - oooooph... aaaaw... aaaarrrr I am all weddinged out!!!!!!!!!!

BUT not quite... PLEASE tell us more, more, more lmg and njam... did you make a decision on what dress to buy lmg???? If not can we see some links of ones you are pondering over???

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 12:22

LMG - glad you had fun. You know we're more than happy to have a virtual fashion show and give you our honest opinions [grin[

T42 - hope your final wedding party was fun. Sounds like your sis is going to look gorgeous

Can't wait to see photo's of your wedding SS and BIAC.

T42 - That some celebrating you've done - good girl!

LMG - we need to see the photos!

I won the dress - huurrrayy!!
This is the material that I can choose satin , Silks,Organza,Chiffon, embroider. I looked at your link Tilly but couldn't see much difference on the internet. So which one would you pick, I trust you!

Got to go and do all the measuring now, I've roped poor dp into help!

SmallShips · 13/07/2008 12:40

What a weekend!!!!! Just a quickie, its my birthday and im off out, BUT what a day!! I want to get married every week.

Shall come back and report with pictures tomorrow, being whisked to a hotel tonight.

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 12:43

Oooh Smallships - have a fab time. Can't wait to hear all about it - will be looking all day tomorrow {saddo emoticon}

Foxy - yay !! Can I know how much you got it for [cheeky cow emoticon !]. God - you trust me to pick your fabric - pressure !! I think I would go with satin ... but a heavier silk (silk dupion/thai silk) is more "matte". Can you email and see what silks they have ? Thinking silk would crease more in transit and may be more difficult to get creases out ...?

OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 12:45

Ok, just looked at the measuring and HELP!

Tilly could you look here for me and tell me if I need to take all them measurements (eg length of arm) and send them or do I just measure bust, waist hip and then work out which size I need and tell them that?

Sorry to be a PITA

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 12:52

I think it was roughly £130 with shipping Tilly. I think I will go with the satin. I'm going to wait untill we are in Cornwall and then take it to a dry cleaners and ask them to steam it, do you think thats a good idea?

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 13:29

I have measured everwhere and everything and sent it off - fingers crossed I measured everywhere correctly.
I went for ivory satin .. I'm so nervous!!

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 14:24

Sorry - foxy - had visitors.

Measuring everywhere is good to be on the safe side and ivory satin sounds great !! Steaming at dry cleaners should be fine (ring one in advance and book it in, just to be on the safe side)

What a bargain !! Sounds brill. You may have to pay some import tax on it (not sure) but just so you know in advance

OP posts:
foxymolly · 13/07/2008 15:05

SS - I'm [envy!]

Thanks for letting me know Tilly, will book the dry cleaners as well.

I've decided that as I'm getting all togged up, dp can as well! There's a suit hire shop in Truro and he's going to hire a morning suit, we're just gonna have fun with the whole dressing up thing!
Found this on ebay for dd Honest opinions please!

(This is rapidly turning into an ebay wedding!)

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 15:07

Obviously thats not for dd, [[http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=290243701265 this is!]

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 15:08

Oh blardy hell!

third time lucky!

foxymolly · 13/07/2008 15:10

This is turning into a farce!

this is the last time!

TillyScoutsmum · 13/07/2008 15:55

Hmmm - looks pretty but if I'm being honest, then I think white against ivory will look a bit odd. Need ivory or another colour I think for dd

Am at getting DP to do the morning suit thing - I think they look lovely but DP won't play. I'm trying to talk him into black tie (DJ etc - very James Bond), but he's not having any of it
