So how or when did the breakthrough occur?

Yeah, my problem is, I want to get on with other things, I don't want to be forever second guessing him.

My others all got it much quicker than ds3, but then, they were all older.

Better today: no poos at all, one or two (I forget) wees in pants and 4 wees in potty including two he did by himself (ie not forced on to pot). Away for a fortnight tomorrow. I know when I get back all your clever children will be potty trained to perfection and I will join the next group! Thanks for the support. It was fun!

Lonelymum · 18/08/2005 20:15

Take that back, he has just pooed in garden having refused to sit on potty when I smelt a certain something coming! Least he wasn't wearing pants though!

nutcracker · 18/08/2005 20:18

Went out all day today and Ds had a pull up on. Took him to the loo every couple of hours and we had a dry pull up at the end of the day

He will insist on screaming that he needs the loo though when he's just been, must be the novelty of it.

purpleturtle · 18/08/2005 21:35

Ds seems to have got some kind of tummy bug. He's managing to get to the potty sometimes, but the last couple of days he has produced some really disgusting pants too!

Apart from that though, we have been to my sister's today - an hour and a half in the car each way - for a birthday party, and despite all of that no accidents (till we got home and he pooed his pants, then pooed on the sofa in the interim period before I got new pants on him. I could provide TMI at this point, but will resist.

muminlondon · 19/08/2005 09:57

going quite well after a week with DD as long as she is reminded to go every hour or so or at least after naps and food/drinks: she's used various public loos (we have a fab folding cushioned toilet seat). Down to one or two accidents a day but I think that must be normal.

right

i have bought lots of little party bag type presents (plastic animals, Freddo choc bars etc) have wrapped them ALL INDIVIDUALLY and put them in a big box.

From tomorrow if dd2 does a wee on the potty she can pick a present out of the box.

I am throwing money at the problem.

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 20/08/2005 17:49

started this afternoon

totally backfired as dd2 now so desperate to get a present she hasnt got off the potty for about 2 hours. She produced one wee, got a little present and has remained firmly glued on it, straining furiously for the rest of the afternoon.

Am about to take her for a walk to try and stop her sitting on potty.

Janh · 21/08/2005 12:38

enid, picture of DD2 furiously trying to wee please?

EnidfromtheVILLAGE · 21/08/2005 12:40

she can hold her wee for AAAAAAAAAGgggggges

I dont think she has really got the hang of 'letting go'- she woke up at 8am and I took her nappy off then I left to come into work ( dont ask) at 10.30 and she hadnt had a wee that whole time.

Brought some of those new pampers feel and learn pull ups today. They were only £2.99 in Asda instead of £4 ish i think.

Ds loves them although it took him half an hour to decide wether to wear hulk or spiderman

We seem to have cracked the day time and no wet pull ups of a morning either but i'm not sure i'm brave enough for nothing at all at night just yet.
