No I am not bothering about the night time nappy thing either. I always think that if they need a nappy at night, that is no-one's business as no-one sees it but me.

purpleturtle · 13/08/2005 19:14

Yay! An accident-free day today! Ds gets to wear a pair of Bob the Builder pants tomorrow by way of reward. He's very excited! (Me too, can you tell?)

nutcracker · 13/08/2005 19:24

Had a very wet nappy this morning. I think it's because we got stuck in several long queues whilst out yesterday and so he wee'd in his pull up and now thinks he can do in his nappy again iykwim.

Anyway, a great day today, loads of wee's and 2 poos on the loo. Am so pleased with him.

Actually I know a good way to get success, buy 3 packs of nappies the week before hand because they are on 3 for 2...that will almost certainly garuntee sucess , well it has here

DD has managed another poo and 2 wees today and only 3 accidents (day 3). Not convinced it's going to be a complete success or that it's the right time. But she is still willing to sit on the potty while sitting next to her her dolly (and at least I can suggest she put her dolly on the potty rather than nag her the whole time).

Lonelymum · 13/08/2005 21:21

Well, ds3 today had 4 wees in potty, one wee outside and one poo in pants. Not brilliant by everyone else's standards, but I am continuing.

Right, well after getting nowhere this morning, after his nap, ds3 did two wees in potty, but no poos in potty yet and he has spent a lot of time today running around naked and goodness knows how many wees have escaped.

Must admit, I am getting a bit bored now. Anyone else feel the same?

clary · 14/08/2005 22:55

purple turtle fab about the accident-free day.
(love that feeling of rlief when you put on the night-time nappy)
Cod that's weird about the dry at night ones. Think ds2 may be getting the hang of nights as he woke me this am with "mummy I done pooh" only for me to find (hurrah) a clena nappy (not dry tho) and a boy very ready to pooh on the loo. Bless hime.
Well done mini-cod on that effort in the car. Sometimes it's amazing what they can do if they try.

sorry about typos, obv reading too many of coddy's posts

I am up for starting a new idea. It's called 'well all of mine were potty trained at 1' from the 50's. Every woman I speak to over 60 talks about it.

This is my theory:- get your oldest towels, cut em up into nappy shaped bits, buy pins, liners etc. And apparently the child hates wearing a terry nappy sooooooo much they get potty trained really quick.

What do you reckon, cos' I am seriously thinking about it?

Lonelymum · 15/08/2005 08:23

Brassybird, from what I can work out from my mother, it wasn't so much a question of teaching the child to know when they wanted the potty, but rather putting the child on the potty at certain times and praying they are regular.

purpleturtle · 15/08/2005 09:08

Ds did very well yesterday again. He must have been taken to the toilet about 6 times at church - all to no avail - between me and his godmother! Went straight on to friends for a barbecue, collecting his own potty on the way, and eventually he decided he would use it!

He did poo in his pants, but this doesn't yet count as an accident in my book. We haven't been at this a week yet.

purpleturtle · 15/08/2005 09:10

Oh and Brassybird, ds has been in washable nappies practically since birth.

2 pairs of wet trousers today - one of them down to spilt apple juice though . don't know what happened to his shorts; I found them abandoned on the floor, fairly wet, but he was insisting that his treasured Bob the Builder pants were not wet!

they're so cute, aren't they? Ds has now perfected a cry of 'I did it!', and then demands that we clap him

Lonelymum · 15/08/2005 19:36

Ds3 just shouts choccie button choccie button! Trouble is, he said it loudest and most confidently today after he had pooed his pants!

Glad pooing is going to be the subject of a new thread in a few weeks time as ds3 is miles from pooing anywhere but his pants.
