...you were in an accident and knocked unconscious or killed, would you really rather you child was in the accident too than safe at home or in the car?

mollie - do you really think there is more chance of a car catching fire while stationary at a petrol station or while being driven?! i'm surprised you ever leave your house, there are so many dangers out there: huge gusts of winds to carry you and your DC off to a far away land, planes crash landing right on top of you as you walk down the street.

Well what would happen if she was with you? She'd be killed with you- where's the advantage of that?

I wouldn't leave tiny children at home, but I do think my 9yo is a lot safer at home than going out in anybody's car.
