Hi there.

It is quite isn't it, we must be all sorted for nappies

I'm having night troubles. Not leaks, more the stench. Her fleece lollpops, which I love, totally pong now. They smell fine out of the wash, but one wee and she could knock you out!
Her wool and fleece covers are the same!

Any ideas?

I have officially shrunk my snugglepants. I can't talk about it. Too upsetting!!!

Right. Massive loads of nappies int he bath in plain water. We are away for a week, to London on a flat sitting break. So we are having a dispo week. I might sweetly ask my mum to do a few rounds of rinse cycles with my stash!

Am thinking of selling the wonderful pants as a small. They were soooo lovely and a great fit.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 29/05/2010 22:46

Ellielou02: Sorry I didn't see your message sooner - hardly spend much time online these days as life is just too busy! We had problems with thrush about 5-6 months ago after my little boy came off antibiotics and it took quite a while before the rashes stayed away for good. I think I found the dampness from his fitted nappies wasn't helping matters. Basically it was switching to suedecloth lined pocket nappies that helped Clement so much (we love Greenkids but Bumgenius are also suedecloth) and I bought a metre of suedecloth to cut into liners for using inside our Tots Bots Easyfits. But we pretty much had to abandon fitted nappies, though that could have been due to what I use for washing the nappies (soap flakes due to my older son's eczema and reacting to detergents) and the soap flakes weren't really coping with bulky nappies and we got build up issues.

We'll still get rashes on Clement if he's in cloth overnight (that's in a pocket too!) or a couple of times when he was strapped in a car seat/pushchair for too long. So we have to use sposies at night, but we can do cloth during the day, thankfully!

Hope you're all well here! I've not really thinking much about nappies these days - but having found out that I have a PINK bump I think I'll be getting fluff mad again come October! LOL

mumface · 29/05/2010 23:10

Oooh a little girl, lovely pink fluff alert rachel!

Patches arrived the other day for people who just wanted to buy - havent got round to doing anything about it yet - on list of things to do!

Myjob, L also suffers from nightmares and terrors, sometimes he's crying 'I've lost mum' to me and I say I am mum!, It's like he's still asleep talking to me and I can't wake him or he will think there's a dog or a spider in his room. He wakes up screaming and I can't stop him. But it means I have to get up for him more than C in the night. Not sure what to do either, I'm afraid. Think they might just grow out of it.

Dear lovely nappy ladies. I did pop by a while ago when I was buying my fuzzi one size and fluffy night time lollipop ones.

I now have got some pre-loved motherease ones but think I need some more wraps. Was looking at ebay when I saw these Imsie Vimsie ones and was wondering what you thought of them??

Thanks - I am trying to negotiate with someone on ebay for some Airflows so will see what happens with them. My son is 2.2 but still not near to being potty trained and I would like more DCs one day....

mumface · 31/05/2010 21:31

Loujalou, I have tried Imse vimse wraps and they are ok but can wick a bit onto the cotton outers. I have a couple of the fox fibre version. I second the airflows. Can't beat them and rikkis.

CharlottesClan · 31/05/2010 21:44

yes mumface she has got loads of little bamboo nl.. some minkie some cotton outers. 2 wraps (small and medium) and we are both knitting away to make little wool soakers to go under her dresses

very nice for me as i can buy gorgeous newborn fluff without the pregnancy, labour or sleepless nights!!

oh and 4 year old boys!! omg thomas atm i want to kill him he is rude, aggressive and impossible!

Loujalou · 31/05/2010 22:02

I have got the person on ebay to see 3 large and 3 xl used air flows for £25. If I want the 3 M she will charge me £35 plus postage. Not too bad I thought... I have some motherease popper wraps and they do seem to do the trick they are just getting a bit tight. Especially at night when we like to use muslins etc to stop leakage.

I could easily get obsessed with this nappy malarkey. Whoops I already am. Convinced my friend to give it a go as its not hard and the nappies are lovely. She wasn't so interested in how they looked though

mumface · 01/06/2010 17:24

If anyone fancies a Puddlekins theres a lovely one just gone up on the board

Kids off school this week, being little darlings
House looks like WW3. C is intent on getting hold of some wires or plugs or some such other baby friendly item even tho the place is piled high with toys. Got the stair gates out again and have already tripped over one and got poo on another opening it with a nappy in my hands

halfterm madness mumface

ive replied to that ad

ive finally got my snugglepants working for me, i needed to squeeze them in the water to get the lanolin into them fully. they are now the most worn pair as i like how 'normal' they look!!
finished knitting up a pair of crops today for george they are soaking now

Hermya321 · 01/06/2010 19:57

(sneaks in) hello!!

Can I come and lurk, I'm still in 'bump' mode, but have started buying nappies now (two fuzzi bunz). My plan is to get a few each month and get a stock pile going.

One question though, I was looking at boosters. Which is better? Fleece or bamboo?

Thanks

mumface · 01/06/2010 20:35

Hi, Hermya, good plan to get few as you go along. Which boosters are you looking at? Fleece is a stay dry layer, the absorbent bit is normally either cotton, bamboo, microfibre or hemp. It all depends on your needs/facilities. Bamboo and hemp are most absorbent but take longer to dry. Microfibre drys in a flash but not as absorbent and wetness can squish out if compressed, like a sponge.
