New thread.

May our nights be dry, our days free of wicking, and may growth spurts coincide with lovely new fluffy product releases. Hurrah!

I have a genuine, bonafide, nappy question

I often use a thin bamboo insert (eg tots, bambinex) in my fuzzis and BGs with the microfibre insert to add a bit of extra boost. Does it matter where I place the bamboo insert? ie is it a better combination to have the bamboo on top of the microfibre, or under the microfibre, or even on top of the fleece lining?

just wondered if anyone had any views!

ooooh, I have two firsts next week....an NCT PN group demo next week and an individual demo . The individual demo is in the next town so will hopefully give me an "in" there as well.....and DH has effectively booked a day off a week between now and Christmas in order to use up his holidays, so I'm going to get a few days where I can dedicate the full day to nappy networking!

LackaDAISYcal · 04/11/2009 22:09

4, how old is your DD3? good effort from her.

My DD was pretty much accident free within a week of starting and dry at night about the same time. I think girls are generally easier with potty training than boily boys

Daisy - What ever you use with Microfibre inserts put it underneeth.
Bamboo, hemp, cotton all goes underneeth Microfibre.

Reason being they all have different properties (as you know) and have different absorbancy rates.

Microfibre is like a sponge it soaks up loads at first but also like a sponge when put under pressure or its full up it will leak out.

This is where your bamboo or cotton underneeth comes in as its like an overflow or reserve tank to catch what the microfibre cant hold.

Again to go on to further boosting Hemp should go under bamboo and cotton as its a further reserve tank if you like!

Does that make sence?

Octothechildherder · 04/11/2009 22:31

I would put underneath too.

Glad it went well Sally - I wouldn't do the next one the same weekend as a baby show tbh - maybe the other end of real nappy week - have stuff building up to it.

DS3 much better now.

Maybe I should change my name to Octothebaglady or just the BagLady Have a another big order going in - crazy - then another at christmas.

I have had my own fluffy post - it came with the shipment - a double jungle jam wet bag - soooo lovely! Kind of in same league as embroidered weenotions and handpainted UD nappies! Lush. Looking into how they can be made in a way which makes them affordable.

4andnotout · 04/11/2009 22:45

Babybots I haven't posted it yet half term has thrown me off kilter a bit, I need to post to octo too!

Myjob I think dd4 is probably between 16 & 17 lbs now and can still fit the mediums with the tabs touching but I think I'll sell them on to raise the cash!

Daisy dd3 is 2.1, the other 2 dd's were very easy to pt and were clean day and night within a week, I'm hoping she will follow in their footsteps but she is q fair bit younger (they were 2.6is)

LackaDAISYcal · 05/11/2009 00:25

underneath it is then, and thanks for the technical whys and wherefores babybots

lol at baglady

2.1 is very young 4! Well Done her. Maybe expect a bit of regression though? or maybe not if she has big sisters to show her the way!

Octothebaglady · 05/11/2009 01:08

LackaDAISYcal · 05/11/2009 01:16

Daisy no worries! Didnt want to teach you how to suck eggs though. Hope it helps.

Gosh 2.1 yrs is great for potty training isnt it - not that i have any experience of that, im sure time will tell.

Right off to watch GMTV!!

Octothebaglady · 05/11/2009 09:34

chateau neuf du pape - one must have standards if one is to be a bag lady!

See you later scary!

Scarybots · 05/11/2009 09:37

lol i must change that!

4andnotout · 05/11/2009 12:24

Dd3 still hasn't had an accident, we have been in the car for 3 hours and she has asked for a wee eachtime we have stopped, no accidents yet She is doing far better than I ever expected!
Now on way home from Lincoln after a 140 mile round trip to pick up dd2's Xmas present! She had better bloody love it on the day

Scotia · 05/11/2009 13:47

LOOK what I've just bought!

4and, well done to dd3, only 1 in nappies will make things much easier for you

Myjob, love your longies and I notice you couldn't resist the Soho wool, lol. I'm tempted to buy some of the brown mix at that price.

Rachel I hope that rash is clearing up now, we used Clotrimazole and it worked really well.

Has been a bit of a sad time here. If you remember my neighbour died a couple of weeks ago? His wife died 12 days later - I think she was just hanging on to look after her husband really. It was her funeral 2 days ago and we got a call to say my cousin's wife has died too - she was only late 40s but had lung cancer. I hope that's the last of the bad news for a while anyway.

mumface · 05/11/2009 14:18

Scotia Lovely set you've bought

Sad day here too , the funeral of my young friend but I wasn't able to go with the kids.

I Have seen a toddler HL bedbug in light green OBV one side and grass giraffes pattern the other, fully fleece lined, I don't have a toddler one it would fit Lewis.... Somebody stop me!

Scotia · 05/11/2009 14:33

Mumface, don't ask me to stop you, I've got the discipline of a very undisciplined thing

I've got my eye on another couple of collabs too

Sorry to hear about your friend, dh is having the day off for my cousin's wife's funeral so I can go.

mumface · 05/11/2009 19:16

Was good and resisted Bedbug (even though I thought about it all afternoon , so glad I did as just spotted a Large instock red/green oogabooga Nightnotion at WN! Some more going on soon too.
Not doing any fireworks tonight as have big birthday/fireworks party tommorrow my best mates little girl is 2.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 05/11/2009 20:47

Woolies can take a few days to dry unfortunatly. My cheaper ones I now put on a gentle spin cycle in the machine after handwashing. It reduced the drying time by at least a day, but is a bit of a risk so I wouldn't do it with brand new wool.

I am going to have a few Child free hours tomorrow and going to spend half the time doing housework and half the time on the website, which has been completly neglected recently. None of my new products are on there, I have loads to add, pictures to add, want to advertise the new nappy too for when that arrives but just haven't had the time. Although also got to sort the bills and paperwork.

REALLY skint at the moment. I've even got to take some of the kids presents back I bought for xmas

Octothebaglady · 05/11/2009 21:09

Jenny - can you release some capital from your business - or pull in some pre-order payments on the new nappy? Have you spoken to your business manager about cash flow - may be an idea to negotiate a 14 day credit with stockists so you can turn your stock around a bit before outlaying capital on unsold stock. Whatever you do, don't use your credit card as with sitting stock you will end up paying interest on it and make no money at all!

Octothebaglady · 05/11/2009 21:13

Thanks myjob!

Octothebaglady · 05/11/2009 21:20

I have a parcel waiting at the post office Hoping it is fluffy post - thinking will be as normally small parcels are put behind the bin but not this one - so likely to be fluffy fleece soakers - hops up and down - shame they didn't come yesterday - could have shown babybots - and babybots - I forgot to show you the double wet bag !

We had pram wars in next today - much to the amusement of a grumpy ds3!

Scarybots · 05/11/2009 22:02

Oh god yes i forgot about the double wetbag!!
about the fleece! Next time hey.

Yes we had great fun god knows what the shop assistants thought of us messing about! - Asda next time - more room to run! lol

Im bogged down with paper work here wish i had some wine! - Not that i should complain really

Oh Jenny i hope things pick up for you soon!

Mum face, well done to resist the bedbug, sounds great though!!

mumface · 05/11/2009 22:20
