Jabula - how do the new products smell? I'm lusting over some solid lanolin in babypowder.

My friend bought me a baby powder scented candle - it could make a girl ovulate just smelling it! Soooo many hormones

mumface · 15/10/2009 11:15

I was wondering what the monkey farts one really smelt of??

OP posts:
JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 15/10/2009 13:27

Baby powder stuff is lovely. My spray lanolin was baby powder and my kids smelt of it everytime they wore woolies.

Got a preloved pair of Longies today which I bought from CNA but TBH I think they are going to be way too big for Talia but too small for ELouise! Length wise they would fit Elouise but the waist doesn't look big enough. Maybe a slim fittting nappy though.

Octothechildherder · 15/10/2009 15:37

Quick Hello/Goodbye - busy getting packed for show - will catch up next week

treedelivery · 15/10/2009 19:00

Good luck Octo - spread the word of the fluff.

I now want baby powder smelling lanolin. Might pass on the Monkey business!

Bummer about he longies Jenny, will you save for Talia or sell on?

Off on a wool hunt, mil is knitting me some longies. Yay!!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 15/10/2009 19:05

I am going to try them on Elouise tomorrow over a LP micro as they are quite slim. They wool is quite strtchy so might be OK. If it doesn't fit her then I will sell as it will be summer by the time Talia fits into them.

LatinDAISYcal · 15/10/2009 19:52

evening. Talking of the fit of longies; if knitting some how do I know how long to make the "body" of them (or should that be bottom of them) to ensure it fits over the nappies.

Shame about to fit of those longies jenny.

Good Luck with the show Octo

Scotia · 15/10/2009 21:27

Daisy, have you got a pattern for longies? What is the rise of the nappies you are goiing to put under them? The last ones I made, I knitted about 9 inches before I started shaping for the gusset. That gives them about a 19inch rise.

Hope that helps a bit.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 16/10/2009 00:26

hiya everyone - anyone miss me? LOL Just moved house and ended up going 2 weeks without broadband! been missing the nappy chat, though no internet has meant I've got the house more quickly in order than I might have done! Probably won't have much time for chatting for a little while yet, as we're busy getting our previous house painted etc so we can get it up for sale! So busy all round! But wanted to stop in and say hello!

Anything exciting happened since I was gone?

Jabula · 16/10/2009 06:30

Tee hee. Monkey farts is just fruity. Is meant to smell of everything a monkey eats. Is the same scent used in 'monkey fruits' for Sheepish Grins.
I can't really smell much of most of them without opening packaging , is it just a kind of general smell of loveliness coming from the boxes!
Octo, have fun in London. I've decided I can't face either the trade one or the baby show, am glad now too as A has bad cold anyway (hence me being up at this time!)

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 16/10/2009 08:51

Rachel - I missed you! lol. Haven't missed much. A few more people have converted to fleece/wool over the last few weeks.

I need to get ready but have been bouncing Talia in her bouncy chair for about an hour! But the whole time she has been looking like she is almost asleep! We have a photographer at the toddler group this morning and I am hoping i can get the girls done together for some good pictures for xmas presents etc. Although how the hell I get them to sit together while holding dd2 up etc and getting them to pose I do not know!

mumface · 16/10/2009 10:16

My Phil n teds tyre exploded in the night like a mini bomb shattering the wheel to smithereens Thank god it didn't happen with the kids in it! Lucky I had my new Maclaren come earlier that day. A really long walk for Lewis up to the school though.

Scotia · 16/10/2009 11:22

That's terrible mumface Glad it was in the night when nobody was near it then.

One of my neighbours must have died last night. When dd came home from work at midnight there was a hearse taking the body away on a stretcher and a policeman standing at the door. It's an elderly couple who live there and the man didn't keep too well, but I don't understand the police being there. Not sure which of them died though.

treedelivery · 16/10/2009 12:00

Blimey mumface!

Oh no Scotia - how sad

Welcome home Rachel - missed you very much. Hope the new house is lush.

My eggy thread has moved to here btw.
