Maybe I am using too much Bold, I use 50ml which is half recommended. Going to try just 25ml now.

Babybots · 27/09/2009 12:40

Mumface - Worth a try, I could be being a bit stingy but they still come out clean and havent had a problem yet. I do use 2 scoops if i think they are really grotty! Also i tend to think the machine will have left over powder from my clothes washes, so it will help clear that build up out too i guess....

LittlePants · 27/09/2009 13:37

Babybots Tirsokas are nothing like gro-baby. They are pocket nappies, not snap ins. The CoolMax is the lining (where the fleece is in most pockets.) They are a PUL outer, but a superbly soft PUL - definitely a luxury nappy, but they dry like lightening, so you wouldn't need many. Just plenty of inserts. You can use whichever type of inserts you prefer, although my team found the P'tits Dessous bamboo inserts the neatest.
And they are just soooo soft and lightweight! I'm in love with them! Just itching for them to arrive!

BB what fleece did you use? Glad it worked. It's amazing, it doesn't feel like it should work, but just does. You have got to try wool though!

Reckon you should get some Tot Bots fleece in. Rainbow size 2 please!

mumface · 27/09/2009 16:04

Jabula Have you thought about trying a minki fleece wrap? I ordered a cream one with paw prints. I will let you know if it's any good.

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/09/2009 16:31

ellie - how well have you stripped them? I was using bold 2 in 1 but TBH I have recently stopped as I was having build up problems. I hace recently switched to Ariel and love it. Not lovely smell but gets the nappies spotless with only a tiny amount and I have even switched to 40 degrees (from 60) and still cleaner than 60 with bold. I use teatree and lemon essential oils in with it - a couple of drops in the wash bit and a couple in the fabric conditioner bit and it smells SO fresh and lovely, much nicer than the bol fragrances IMO. To strip wash, I now use a full dose of ariel gel, wash at 40. Then wash at 40 again 3 times with no washing powder. Seems to workn well. Maybe put some vingegar in the second wash if the smell is very bad.

Once in a while I also do a quick wash instead of an extra rinse and spin at the end of a normal nappy wash which I think really helps to keep build up at bay. I haven't needed to strip since switching to ariel though!

Well I finished my Flongies and I hate to say it, but they are pants {grin]. It's my own fault as I was too impatient to block them out properly so put them under an iron and steamed them and it stretched all the stitches......They will do for scrubbing round the house though, and are pretty colourful if nothing else. they might spring back in when washed.

WE survived our first night in cloth with no leaks even though he was pretty soggy this morning. Back in sposies tonight though as I only have one nappy suitable as a night nappy. I want to get on and do my wool longies now (will wait for circular needles and a better pattern though) but the exercise has made me realise that although my knitting is pretty good, my finishing of a garment leaves a lot to be desired!

Question on wool; if you use wool do you use a grobag type sleeping bag? Or does putting a non breathable thing on top mean puddles/sogginess in the morning?

Babybots · 27/09/2009 21:33

Evening!
Jabula id stock the Tots Bots fleece if i didn't have to wait 8 weeks them! and im keeping stum on the fleece until they arrive here I liked it so much ive washed and dryed it to use again tonight!

Oh Daisy poor flongies however you are very brave i wouldnt even be able to pick up the needles!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/09/2009 21:35

Quick question and will post properly later. Somebody has asked me about extra large nappies for older children. The little girl we are talking about is about 3-4 and currently in size 6 extra large disposables. Nappies are just for night time use. Any recomendations? Was thinking about asking suzanne at WN but wondering if anybody had any other suggestions?

LittlePants · 27/09/2009 22:00

What about a Sweet Night nappy. They do an XL which fits children over 13 KG and they are gorgeous!

LittlePants · 27/09/2009 22:02

Or an Easy Peasy bamboo bumper. They are HUGE!

LatinDAISYcal · 27/09/2009 22:02

jabula, I bought some minki yoyos for DS1 when I got all enthusiastic about cloth with DD. He wouldn't wear them though as he thought they were too nappy like! I have one left for sale if she is interested? It's been prewashed but not used.

4 missed your post about the mastitis, but saw your FB updates.....feed feed feed, massage and comb and I hope you're feeling better today. Watch out for thrush if you are taking ABs.

Babybots · 27/09/2009 22:04

Jenny - nappies by minki! thye have a section for older children and make to order. I always refer my customers there.

mumface · 27/09/2009 22:06

Nappies by Minki do XL huggles 30lb + & also a bespoke service if they are not large enough.Possibly with a Minky fleece wrap over.

Babybots · 27/09/2009 22:09

mumface · 27/09/2009 22:09

X-Post same answer!

Babybots · 27/09/2009 22:14

Great minds think alike!

JennyPennyNAPPYWEB · 27/09/2009 22:42

Do you know what size the XL minkis go up to? Thinking the pockets might be good for a newbie? I know lots of people get on with them at night?

Babybots · 28/09/2009 07:59

Jenny,I think they will make them to fit what ever size the customer needs they made for adults too so i dont think you'll have a problem. Drop them an email to ask.

Babybots · 28/09/2009 08:48

Make for adults even! - Doh.

Welcome back after your hols Jenny, hope you had a good time!

mumface · 28/09/2009 09:46

Morning,(half asleep) I'll try this message again on the right thread!
My Debbies fleece leaked on Connor last night but I think it was because the Swaddlebees OS was not absorbent enough. Also his vests/sleepsuits are getting too tight, so am going next size up now.
I am hoping my shorties come today and some verbaudet sleepsuits

kmummy · 28/09/2009 10:12

Morning ladies Fingers crossed for fluffy post today mumface....ive had some, now the proud owner of a DnF - Thank you Jabula, its lovely, just need munchkin to wake up for i can try it out!

Random, but why is it the first night my baby sleeps through since he arrived 6.5months ago i woke constantly to check on him?!?! I bfed him and he was still hungry so oh gave him 3oz of formula and he slept through...am feeling slightly bad now

mumface · 28/09/2009 10:44

Don't feel bad. If he was still hungry you did the right thing & it is lovely when they sleep through for the first time, but then you worry that they have not woken up
BB Is it Debbies fleece you are getting in ?(if you can tell us!) If it is they are great. I think I only got a leak because I didn't put a booster in as I can't figure out how to fit it in with front poppered down.

Babybots · 28/09/2009 11:01

Mumface - i'll email you
