I suppose I'm getting used to dp having these attacks, he has angina, heart disease, and has had 3 heart attacks. He will be fine for a while then it all happens again

rusmum is on my fb so she recognised my pink p&t , she came over and asked if I was Sophie aka 4andnotout she said she was waiting to hear me call one of the dd's as she would have recognised the names dp thinks it's hilarious that we always meet mn'ers Wherever we go! I met one in France!

dippymummyto2boys · 30/08/2009 21:07

4 - I hope your dp is feeling better

JennyPenny22 · 30/08/2009 22:22

Anybody been to any nappy shows? I have never seen anything round here but noticed there is one in Oxford - about 40 mins away. Wondered if it was worth the drive?

Is this the one Jenny?

Oxfordshire Real Nappy Fair will be taking place on Saturday 31st October, 2-4pm at Holton Village Hall, Holton. Oxford OX33 1PS (just off the A40 near Wheatley)

I thought about going but am away for the weekend so cannot make it

But saying that the one we went to in Bristol during RNW was not as good as it could have been, if it has been well advertised locally it should be good. from experience be prepared to heavily discount your prices, everyone there will be looking for a bargain.

Good luck with the site by the way, they are hard work but great fun

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/08/2009 09:14

Just seen that Upsy Daisy are doing a limited edition velour lined nappy!! I neeeeeed some! LOL That's my kind of nappy! so, I'm trying to sell off my stash of large Fuzzibunz quick to fund 1-2 of them! Think I've sold 3 so far, after listing them on a few sites 15 min ago! So I might get some money before midnight afterall! LOL

dippymummyto2boys · 31/08/2009 09:18

rachel - I already have a bamboo velour lined UD bamboo nappy. It is lovely, but as absorbant as their soy nappies or bamboo sandys or WNNLs imo.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/08/2009 09:21

not as absorbant, or as absorbant? It's just that we don't get on with fleece lined nappies, hence why I like velour lined ones!

dippymummyto2boys · 31/08/2009 09:26

sorry rachel - NOT as absorbant. They still do last 3 hours plus but get saturated quicker iyswim? Velour does feel lovely!

Octothechildherder · 31/08/2009 09:36

Jenny - we could have a meet up at Oxford if you fancy it - I know a few people who are going anyway

JennyPenny22 · 31/08/2009 10:04

dippymummy - are you talking about night nappies? Or day?
I have a velour lined fitted nappy. It doesn't effect absorbency as its still soy but the velour just replaces the fleece? Yours sounds different to mine though maybe?

Octo - would love to meet up at the nappy event! Do you bring children with you? I think I would feel uncomfortable going that far without Talia at the moment TBH.

OP posts:
dippymummyto2boys · 31/08/2009 10:07

I mean the ltd edition day nappies they have. They are bamboo rather than soy. Soy with BV inner sounds fab!

dippymummyto2boys · 31/08/2009 10:13

has anyone used a nappeco wool pocket? what did you think of them and what are the washing instructions on these?

JennyPenny22 · 31/08/2009 10:26

I nearly ordered a wool one but changed my mind as we don't use pockets much! Look good though!

My local mothercare defintaly sold them in store when I was in there last. That was a few weeks ago though.

There is a reciepe for a home made washing "gloop" on CNT and wondering what everybody thought? :
"laundry gloop - put in the drum instead of washing powder

4 litres of water
1 bar soap (get 4 bars for £1 in cheapie shops!)
1/2 cup washing soda crystals
10-20 drops essential oil

bring water to boil in a large saucepan, grate soap and dissovle in the water. add washing soda and essential oil and stir until dissovled. store in a large tub. use 1/2 cupful each wash.

i accidentally used 1.5 litres of water instead of 4 and ended up with a cool jelly blob! cut it into squares! a 1inch cube just goes straight in the machine! vinegar in the drawer is also a great softener"

I am thinking about making some but wasn't sure how good it would be for nappies? Would certainly save some £ which I could really do with ATM.

I have got myself some shifts at the local pub which should help as I am using lots of our money for funds for the new stock. And we need some spends for tennerife!

oh no Jenny - have just realised that it is halloween and we have visitors! (not ghosts lol) shame - would have been good to meet up.

this is the BPA show - it is a trade fair - I can't go as am at Earls Court the following weekend for the Baby Show and dh won't be pleased if I do both! Maybe next year...

www.babyandchildfair.co.uk/general.php?r=MBVOYU74700

I have just bought a fluffy bear pocket nappy from etsy - large with trains on - has fleece outer and pul inside. Kind of like a minki I suppose but looks much slimmer.

Octothechildherder · 31/08/2009 11:29

(((last day of free postage)))

kmummy · 31/08/2009 12:15

Ladies i need help! Im dreaming about nappies and actually looking forward to a bum change...this cant be right Was going to order my BGs this week and now i read on here theres a new one coming out now i dont know what to do hehe!

I never knew nappies could be so addictive!

JennyPenny22 · 31/08/2009 13:01

Octo - are you selling at baby show or just brousing? I might come if I can get some cheap or free tickets from somewhere, which I have done the past 2 years

OP posts:
Octothechildherder · 31/08/2009 13:49

I am selling - stand manager for Lollipop. Email Sue and ask to be put on list for free tickets

JennyPenny22 · 31/08/2009 14:43

Really? I can get free tickets? Guess I will be seeing you there then! Lol!

Bet it cost a lot to get a stall there?

OP posts:
Octothechildherder · 31/08/2009 14:49

Ranges from about £500 to £20K!

JennyPenny22 · 31/08/2009 15:19

OMG! Definatly out for me then! LOL. I will be there as a buyer though. Will be a good chance for me to have a good look at all the lollipop goodies. I haven't heard back about my trade account with them but I am guessing that is the bank holidays fault!

Do you use some of each of your stock? Everything I have ordered I keep thinking "and I will keep one of those for Talia, one of these for Elouise" LOL. Its because I want to have as much experience of each product as possible so that I know the answers to questions people will ask, and if its not much good then I won't buy it again. I don't want to sell stuff that isn't good quality.

And on that note - I MIGHT need some testers for a new nappy that I have found. Any volanteers? (Stupid question I know! ). You will get the nappy to keep for free, and what I ask in return is that you can give me as much feedback as possible, and let me put your review of the nappy on my site if it comes to it. I am not making any promises yet as I am still talking to the supplier. It depends mostly on what the minimum order will be as I obviously don't want to be stuck with 200 nappies if they don't work.

OP posts:
thebluefoxategreensocks · 31/08/2009 15:21

Now to decide what to buy! Thinking now about buying 1 fitted nappy (maybe one of the coloured bamboo terry night nappies) and 2 minkee wraps for the boys. But what fabric is nicest? Shall I go for Lagoon Gelato or aqua sea? Don't have enough pennies for embroidery but still will be nice, I'm sure! hmmmm, don't know which fabric to choose! And how is their sizing? Wonder if I should get an XL wrap since we use XL ME ones.
