Hmmm im not sure tbh, i think the main prob with the liquids is the concentration.

So many are double concentrated now its hard to make sure you are not over dosing and clogging up the fabric that way. A bit of a tricky one!

mumface · 04/09/2009 23:07

Octo I just ordered a MF wetbag from you in med petal mod. Not sure which ones you still have in stock? Happy to change patterns.

JennyPenny22 · 04/09/2009 23:10

Regarding over dosing. I think as long as you only use half a dose max you will be fine as its still using half of the recomended amount.

I find that liquids make the machine smelly. All the "smelly washing machine" threads on here say the same, lol.

JennyPenny22 · 04/09/2009 23:49

Yes I actually think the same. Was mainly just stating on an absorbancy front iyswim?

Anybody here use eco bumbles? Have ordered a few to try!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 08:00

I had some jenny, but I never got round to using them! I bought them when I was pregnant, put them in the loft and then promptly forgot about them and came across them when bumble was three months old and I had loads of other nappies on the go, so I sold them!

I'm sure I have other nappies like that round the house

I have a spotty bumble this morning. Looks like an allergic reaction of some kind and I'm having kittens as he had the chocolate from the end of my snickers bar yesterday!

4andnotout · 05/09/2009 09:36

Morning all

Got to buy a packet of disposable wipes today as my wipes seem to have vanished

Anyway better get on, dd1 needs school shoes today and it will be a manic saturday in clarks!

swampster · 05/09/2009 12:47

Did your washing machine eat all your wipes, 4?

Octothechildherder · 05/09/2009 12:55

Mumface - petal mod in post today

Have 5 mins to sit down for cup of tea - all out or asleep! Bliss

Ariela · 05/09/2009 15:23

Kitkatqueen : try cleaning your machine's filter, sounds like it's not rinsing preoperly.

Babybots · 05/09/2009 16:24

Hi all

Just got in from a nice walk along the seafront and around town with DS and DH, thankfully not much to catch up with on here.

So how is everyone today??

kitkatqueen · 05/09/2009 16:49

Ariela, I thought that too but its empty...

Am now wondering if its blocking past the filter/ if the outlet pipe is squashed...

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 20:23

got my nappy today babybots and I love the colour (bright yellow) . Only comments are that the insert could be thicker and I imagine that, for a newborn esp, cross over poppers would be useful, but other than that the pocket itself looks fine and we can't wait to try it

the wee man has hideous nappy rash though . He was in a dispo today and crawling around and inspite of a bit of a whiff, when DH and I each checked him by peering down the back it looked like it was just wet. A good couple of hours later and he was whingy and maungy (but he is full of cold, teething and spotty) and wouldn't settle when I tried to feed him. He was a bit soggy, so I went to change him and he had had a runny poo which had all gone frontwards due to him crawling around on the floor and he was red raw . I feel so bad for the wee mite. A loose fitting pocket with a silk liner, some liberally applied egg white, a teapsoon of calpol and a couple of hours later and it was looking much better. And...if he had been in cloth I would have had to check by taking the nappy half off, as the waist elastic is such that you can't peer in the back.....damn dispos!!

I am trying to develop an idea I have for a nappy accessory, but am severely hampered by lack of sewing machine and no sewing skills whatsoever......I may just have to hand sew my prototype! what a success story that will be when I make my first million

Babybots · 05/09/2009 20:36

Lacka,

Glad you like the colour. Funny you should mention the crossover tabs for newborns, we have put the idea to Coolababy already!

The insert surprisingly lasts my 9 month old 4 hours so see how it goes, it may need boosting as it says on our site.

However i got a one size fuzzi in the post today and i was surprised how similar the inserts were! Ok they come with 2 inserts but are more than double the price. - You get what you pay for with that but boosters arnt expensive or hard to make are they!

Your new plans sound intresting, hope you manage to get sewing!

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 21:03

the new fuzzis inserts are much thicker I think, but maybe that's compared to the old fuzzis I had (I got given a job lot of inserts by a mate) were quite well used! they might fluff up a bit when washed . I like the embroidery on the insert though, as I found out recently that inserts are not always interchangeable (BGs don't fit Fuzzis OS)....a bid red coolababy means you aren't going to confuse that one when still half asleep

mumface · 05/09/2009 21:09

I need to put extra insert in my Coolababys for Lewis, but he is nearly ready to potty train. I found that Jersey hemp boosters from easy peasy 5 for £10 free p&p that someone here mentioned(think was Swampster) are brilliant and are exactly the same size as insert in coolababy.

LackaDAISYcal · 05/09/2009 22:13

thanks mumface; I have some BGs and OS fuzzis so can use the small insert from those as an added boost. bumble isn't a heavy wetter though so it'll be interesting to see how they do.

Deemented · 05/09/2009 22:57

Hello folkses

Just wondering is anyone has any size one little lambs bamboo, preferably nippa fastening for sale? Or any size one tots?

Or can reccomend a good newborn nappy? DD was a heifer - 10lb 2oz born, and didn't switch to cloth til she was 12 weeks, so she was a good 14lb then, so i never did the whole newborn nappy thing.

I do prefer bamboo, find them much more absorbant then cotton, but i'm easy really.

Any reccomendations appreciated.

swampster · 05/09/2009 23:22

Deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! How the Devil are you doing? Been thinking of you! Why don't you see if alyson has any of her bamboo Sandy's left?

Do you like teeny tiny size 0 Tots fleece wraps? I have a few of those. And small Airflows. I'm girding my loins for a bit of a nappy clearout.

JennyPenny22 · 06/09/2009 00:05

Where is everybody today?

As for boosters - the easy peasy hemp mentioned above are fab and I will have them in stock very soon.

I use an EP hemp in my coolababys as well as the insert that came with it - but that goe for all pockets not just coolababys.

I have just got in from my pub shift, hense why I am so late posting!

Babybots - interesting to see you are getting your coolababy from the manufacturer direct. I am wondering if I am being ripped off as I all I found was hundreds of different distrubuters. Still very cheap though.

Bit annoyed none of my stock arrived today. Hopefully on monday. I want to open my site!

TheNattyTheHippy · 06/09/2009 01:20

gosh i have a few days off from MN and just look at all the chattyness.

we recently switched to bold 2in1 for the nappies, but we are still having an amonia problem
last lot went in on a cold rinse, then 60 wash no powder, then 40 with powder plus an extra rinse. lets hope thats sorted.
otherwise i may throw my hands up the whole thing and chuck the lot.

i am finding microfibre is working best with charlie, our night soultion is currently 2 BG inserts in a slinki minki lmao!

NEW ITTIS gimmie gimmie

my WN cart is currently on £98.. i dare not put it all through at once tho, DH will kill me...

JennyPenny22 · 06/09/2009 01:48

Woolies, BBH, tots, boosters, wraps, and more for sale!

at chucking all your nappies!!!

We have just switch to ariel for the nappies and find the cleaning so much better AND have switched to 40 which I am hoping will help make my nappies last longer. Now we have an expensive stash I want to look after them properly. Even at 40 though they are coming out cleaner than with bold or anything else we have tried.

Is it sad that I am GLAD to have come on jmy period so I can try out all my cloth san pro?

OP posts:
Deemented · 06/09/2009 07:18

I'd be interested in the wraps, swampster - but would you take a cheque or PO? My PP is seriously depleated after buying a pram

And we are all good, ta. Just over halfway there now. Not due til second week of Jan, but my MW keeps telling my i'll have a Christmas baby!!

4andnotout · 06/09/2009 08:07

Morning all

I'm thinking of switching to Daz this week, mainly as it is £8 for 80 washes in Sainsburys, bit skint this week after we realised we have dd1's brownies subs (£20) and the remainder of her brownie holiday to pay for (£55).

It's dp's birthday today and my grandparents 51st wedding anniversary today so we will all be heading to the chinese all you can eat buffet, they never charge us for the little ones there so it makes a fairly inexpensive meal out for celebrations, just got to ring my grandparents and ask them to pick up a cake on their way.
