Ok, so the great (well in my mind anyway) real nappy trial has discovered the following:

Cheap nappies don't work.
We don't like pocket nappies
Some of ds's trousers don't fit him in real nappies
We like Mother Ease
Lizzies real nappies are a fab place to shop with great advice and superb customer service
I heart cushie tushies in giraffe - this has to do with what I told people I was having when they asked me
I'd like anyone with a website for nappies to email me a link if you'd be kind enough.

lol tree - I emailed mnhq about a business mum section but they didn't reply

mumface · 01/09/2009 17:15

Have just got my replacement bamboo pop-in really pleased that they have put in 5 fleece liners and some nappy cream in for free.
However have just put it on Lewis & it hardly fits him! Whereas the dream-dri one I have theres loads of room.
Checked the label it says Modern Baby not Close parent. So it's an old one. Anybody know if the bamboo ones just come up smaller than microfibre ones?
Also the colour is different to the other one I returned. It just looks a very faded shade.
Not best pleased.
Don't think I can complain though as it is the nappy I ordered & they put a gift in IYSWIM.

They have sent you the old version with the 3 rows of poppers instead of 4? Norty people - old stock. Lots of these were sent back as they leaked - then they redid the gusset and put 4 rows of poppers on and a label saying not to tumble dry the outer. Not sure what to say really!!!!!

reallywoundup · 01/09/2009 18:03

baron- i can beat that i had mine kitted out this afternoon in : full uniform plus winter coat, scarf, gloves and hat (all with hand sew name tags )- then the opposite which was pe shorts and white shirts- it all fitted thankfully

Jenny- mine would work out at about 10p a wash , washing powder varies but averages about 25-30p a wash.

mumface · 01/09/2009 18:43

Thanks Octo checked website & it says Close Parent pop-in so it's going back again

mumface · 01/09/2009 18:47

(P.s just want to say this is not the one I ordered from Babipur that I mentioned on another thread. Theirs was fine)

JennyPenny22 · 01/09/2009 19:04

mumface - thats not on! Definatly send it back if its not what you wanted. They should at least give you the color etc you ordered! I would email and say thank you for the cream etc BUT the nappy they have sent is....

I have just got in from town and have the info from the bank to hopefully sort out paypal and do some wholesale ordering! Yay! Not that I have any money but a credit card will keep me going till I get some orders in

mumface · 01/09/2009 19:53

Babybots · 01/09/2009 19:56

Jenny/Octo,

With the talk earlier of setting up a forum for Sellers, would anyone mind if I set one up for us all to use.

Of course we wont disappear from here, but it will give us somewhere to chat about trade stuff without boring everybody else!! not that anything connected to cloth is boring.

I liked the email idea but everytime I get an email i get all excited that it may be an order (still in the honeymoon stage with the business)

Anyways let me know

JennyPenny22 · 01/09/2009 20:17

Definatly wouldn't bother me! I don't have the time to do anything like that.

There is a self employed section on here - we could always just have a chat thread like this on on there? "General chat for nappy sellers" type thing?

I am easy either way! I have just got the kids to bed and am going to spend the evening on my website and hopefully get it to the point that I can open it then min my order comes through the door!

My Lo has just gone of to sleep which is handy as I have a stack of orders to pack up and want to do some more redesigning of the site

purplesal · 01/09/2009 20:37

Evening all

My sister and her OH have just left after i cooked them a roast for tea, she has been away for a few months travelling the length and breadth of the uk so it was lovely to catch up.

DD4 had her 9 mo check today, it's a bit late as she is actually nearly 11 mo's, apparently she has dropped down on the poxy graphs and is now on the 2nd centile, they don't seem to take into account that she is petite, she weighs 15lb 11oz but is fairly fleshy just short. Me and dp are both short arses too, im 4'11 and dp only 5'11 if that.

Been really sunny but windy here today so the nappies got lovely and dry super quick and are lovely and bright!

Octothechildherder · 01/09/2009 21:10

Jenny - don't use msn as messes up laptop! Will email you phone number.

Octothechildherder · 01/09/2009 21:16

Have registered but googlemail seems to be down. Have set up new business/website for my distributorship business Not live yet!

Octothechildherder · 01/09/2009 21:29

Jenny - I have large used fuzzis you can borrow - will sort out with other nappies you need.

4andnotout · 01/09/2009 21:38

That reminds me you know those nappies i recieved in a swap they have turned out to be fantastic!! I have put a hemp or bamboo booster in with the mf inserts and they have been great, the name on the label is BB Rainbows and they are very similar to coolababies or fuzzi's. So if anyone see's any, snap them up!!

Octothechildherder · 01/09/2009 21:46

There are loads of cheap pocket nappies on ebay atm - naughty baby, babyland etc - very cheap.

It's silly really as when she looked at her when she was naked and being weighed you can tell she is well covered, she isn't a skinny baby, but the h.v was asking what she eats, does she have any cows milk yet, she gets loads of solids as she eats exatcly what we have just cut up for her, and she still bf's loads
