It wouldn't have been bollocks if you were in Scotland, Beety

Gobbledigook · 17/04/2005 20:24

And my degree is honours and I didn't do a dissertation as such because I did a combined degree (so mine is in physiology and pharmacology - those who only did one did a dissertation I think).

Dh is BSc and MSc and thinks he is cleverer than me but he only got a Third and I got a 2:1 and I practically wrote his thesis for him (I am an expert on chlamydia) so I am the cleverest so there!

Gobbledigook · 17/04/2005 20:27

No I am cos I was only 1% off a 1st. ner ner.

Twiglett · 17/04/2005 20:28

I didn't do a dissertation either

ghosty · 17/04/2005 20:28

It's ok Beety, I thought it was a 4 year course too. So now I have no idea why I have an Honours degree ...
ghosty BA(Ed)(Hons)

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 20:28

How gutting to be 1% off a First - miserable sods you had for lecturers!

I'm sure at my uni you had to pass your first year (when you studied 3 subjects) with a 3rd or above to qualify for Hons at the end of 3 years.

So I studied English, Art History and Italian in my first year, passed all 3 with Firsts then just studied Eng Lit for the final two years and ended up with a 2.i BA(Hons) in Eng Lit. Seems everywhere is different though.

Twiglett · 17/04/2005 20:29

I was 3% off a first though, so GDG is obviously far brighter than me

Twiglett · 17/04/2005 20:30

but as me ol' da would say 'a miss is as good as a mile'

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 20:31

OK (off at a bit of a tangent) what qualifications have you got altogether? I've got 9 0' levels, 4 A' levels, a BA (Hons!), my Cycling Proficiency (99%) and my Tufty Club certificate for road safety.

Hulababy · 17/04/2005 20:31

I was about 2 marks of a first They marked the 2:2 people up to firsts, but not mine. Boo Hiss! Made worse as my brother got his degree results same month and he did get a first (very very high marks though - over 90%, inc a 100%, in every exam).

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 20:31

I got a First on my Shakespeare and Chaucer papers...

morningpaper · 17/04/2005 20:31

I got a first and I was the prize student.

blows raspberries and looks smug smug smug

morningpaper · 17/04/2005 20:32

... bit jealous of the Tufy Club certificate for road safety though...

marthamoo · 17/04/2005 20:34

You should be - any fool can get a First, it takes talent, genius, courage and wit to get a Tufty Club certificate, I can tell you.

morningpaper · 17/04/2005 20:34

dammit!

Hulababy · 17/04/2005 20:34

Tufty !!!!

ghosty · 17/04/2005 20:35

7 O' Levels, 3 A levels, RSA 1 and 2 Typing ... various 'Dutch as Foreign Language' qualifications.
2.2 degree ... (I had FUN at uni you see, spent most of my time in the pub .... Had I been a bit more dedicated I would have walked away with a First obviously )

Gobbledigook · 17/04/2005 20:35

Was well peeved as I'd slogged my guts out while also going to and fro from hospital with boyfriend of 5 yrs who was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma the Easter of our finals (I know it was far worse for him, but stressful for me too)

Erm - 8 GCSEs, RSA typing, 4 A Levels, BSc(Combined Hons), Professional Cert Management (1st yr of MBA and I do have letters from that but can't remember what), MRS Foundation (distinction) - letters for that too but can't remember em.

Oh, and a 1st class honours in domestic technology and childcare I'm a bazzin SAHM!

happymerryberries · 17/04/2005 20:36

10 'O's , 3 'A's, an undivided BA in Biochemistry (oxford didn't divide when I was there), a PGCE, and grade 5 practical on the flute! Oh and a customer care course whne I was in the pharmaceutical industry.

Dh is cleverer than me (don't tell him I admited that) and he got a pass degree. He discovered women, flying and drinking and I found out that I like learning a lot of 'stuff'.
