I had 100 at last count but i have sold a fair few since then

thebluefoxategreensocks · 04/03/2009 20:39

I've got about 145 nappies I think (pockets/fitteds/tie-on napies) and a further 30-40 odd prefolds, and 30+ wraps, 9 wool covers, lots of inserts etc! I recently took inventory of them so I'd stop buying nappies - but it didn't work very long! I had 130 nappies at that stage, and I'm sure I'm up to 145 now! oooops! I even took pics of my stash, but haven't uploaded them yet!

ilovemydogandMrObama · 04/03/2009 20:48

rachel but think of all the money you'll save by having so many

well, I never buy expensive ones (most are ones I've got for 2-3 pounds each - and never paid more than 6 pounds for a nappy!), and plenty of nappies have been swapped for others etc - so don't think I've spent all that much really, even though my stash has changed a lot in the past 2 years (only used prefolds for first 16 months)! But never actually added it all up either. However, soon to have 3rd child - so I'm sure I would have spent far more had I used disposables on them all!

mumoftoby · 04/03/2009 21:00

Rachel - that is soo many. I don't feel too bad about my stash now.
I thought I was bad with 10 fluffles, 5 wonderoos, 5 ittis (and 5 extra inserts), 1 BBH, 1 Ella's hemp and 2 sandys. Also, 4 cotton tots bots but they are my least favourite and last resort.

2 XL bumhuggers for DS1 who is only in nappies at night. I could do with a couple more of those....at the moment he sometimes wears a wonderoo overnight but they are as stinky as a disposable by the morning.

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/03/2009 21:11

Ok I didn't actually think I had THAT many nappies, but reading what you all have, I think I have too many! And I still keep buying more!

I couldn't tell you how many I have, but can do an estimate and list the types I have. Are we including nappies that are not being used? Like the newborn nappies I have ready for the new one and stuff? And stuff I plan to sell? Or are we just counting what we are actually using at the moment?

Drlove - with regards to being boring with cream and white nappies, I am the same BUT I have ordered some dye and I will soon be transforming my boring white ones to pink and purple! Depends on what material your nappies are though.

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/03/2009 21:16

Oh ok, I spent so long to post that post (I got distracted with something else), I missed the last few posts. I don't feel as bad now about the number of nappies I have.

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/03/2009 21:42

What does everybody think of the modern baby pop in? I don't actually think I am that keen? It seems to be "full" after about 2 hours or so and then be leaking onto clothes? It is leaking through the outter, not the sides or anything? That is without the night booster thing though as otherwise it is too bulky. Also, she wore it today and even without the booster, I just about got it on her and she is only 14 months so really can't see it lasting till potty training! She is small for her age too. I put it on just as we left for a harvester and by the time we got back she had soaked through to her clothes.

rusmum · 04/03/2009 21:46

anyone selling any wool fleece?? want something to cover bumbles at night!!

mumoftoby · 04/03/2009 22:01

My DH thinks I'm awful, please share your opinions on this:
I have 2 next breastfeeding nighties that are well worn but have no damage etc. They are actually quite short so I gave birth in one - the baby can so easily be tucked in to it once the buttons are opened for skin to skin. I was going to ask on a childbirth thread if anyone wanted both of them for £2 postage. Is that awful because I wore them a lot and even gave birth in one (can't tell which one)? They are so ideal for childbirth - I think it would be such a waste to bin them.

4andnotout · 04/03/2009 22:08

I agree with you, if they are in ok condition offer them ffp, i have worn the same nighty for 3 out of 4 of my births (dd2 was a waterbirth so i was naked) and i still haven't thrown it away! It had a bit of blood on it last time and i said to mum to throw it away but she took it home and washed it and it came up good as new All ready for dc5....

TheLadyEvenstar · 04/03/2009 22:15

wow you wore nighties? you are lucky. My blood pressure shot up so high both times that i ended up naked lol as i just kept getting hotter. First time i was in hosp so wasn't so bad but with Zachary i was at home with dp, ds1 and 3 paramedics in my bedroom....and the blinds open as i had not closed them ooppss lol.

rusmum · 04/03/2009 22:15

did you have time to put a nightie on ???

LOL DD1 born in vest top only (what i had had on all day)

DD2 quick birth in bath _ only got in to pass time! lol

but i agree- pass them on!

TheLadyEvenstar · 04/03/2009 22:20

Rus no i didn't..... 4 1.2 minutes was enough time to get on my bed lmao

drlove8 · 04/03/2009 22:34

TLE - WOW 4 1.2 minutes! thats got to be some kind of record- ive had hic-ups that last longer lol.

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/03/2009 22:36

Mumoftoby - sorry to jump in there but I would be interested in them if you do decide to pass them on. Depending on size? Sorry, I probably sound awful asking but couldn't help it as I am due in 7 weeks and only have one breastfeeding nightie and I planned to give birth in it last time but as I put it on when I went into labour (with bottoms on as well) it was too dirty by the time DD arrive 49 hours later!!! I had tonnes of water which meant I had loads of changes of clothes before I even started pushing and then ended up naked! And I plan to breasfeed again.

How long do you leave sales before chasing them up? I bought 2 things from MN and paid 27th feb and haven't heard a single thing since I sent payment and address? I am useless at getting to the post office myself so I am not that bothered as long as they are on their way.

soon2befamilyof4 · 04/03/2009 22:45

Is anybody interested in swaping ME airflows? I am looking for a small or extra small (possibly more than one) and have some larges I could swap? We use large at the moment, so they are well used but have too many as I only use 1 per day and wash every 2 days and they come out pretty much dry! So we have too many really. I bought some recently and then found a load I had put away when DD was small. Does anybody know the difference between S and XS? I just looked on ME website and they both say 6-12lb?

TheLadyEvenstar · 04/03/2009 23:44

Dr it was scarey lol

mumoftoby · 05/03/2009 07:45

TLE and rusmum those births sound amazing - I was told I have rapid deliveries but managed to get to hospital an hour before each birth!

soon2be you would be very welcome to them. They are a maternity size 12. I was a size 16 in normal clothes for a few months after giving birth and they were fine. They aren't fitted - just button down and pale pink.

soon2befamilyof4 · 05/03/2009 08:21

They should fit, I am bigger than a 12 but being maternity they should be ok after baby arrives if not before. Is that ok? I have second hand everything and doesn't both me in the slightest about it being used for birth etc. After all, if we can use second hand nappies, which have been pooed on god knows how many times, a nighty should be no problem. Did you want to CAT me your Paypal?

mumoftoby · 05/03/2009 08:31

I am dim and can't figure out how to CAT?! My e-mail address is vikki underscore higham at yahoo dot co dot uk

On e-bay I usually wait a couple of weeks for something to arrive before contacting to ask if everything is ok

Hopefully · 05/03/2009 08:37

Ooh, Swampster meant to say the wraps arrived yesterday! They're brilliant (no leaks last night despite having a billion feeds and the nappy being sodden this morning), and thanks for the freebies to try as well!

soon2befamilyof4 · 05/03/2009 09:06

mumoftoby - I have just emailed you - wanted to double check I had done email in correctly before sending payment.

I am hopefully going to get some more nappies today from freecycle! No idea what though - I didn't want to sound fussy and we will use anything really because of having the next one on the way.

AnnVan · 05/03/2009 12:24

Hello everyone. Gosh it's been a while since I was last on here. Don't have any nappy news except that I seem to have lost the insert or my NB lovable. Can't bloody find it anywhere.
Hope everyone and their LOs are all ok.

cyteen · 05/03/2009 12:52

likewise Ann, i've not had any news for ages. did go on a minor spree last night though and stocked up on flexitots/teddies/bambinex bamboo, plus a stacinator 2 parters really do suit us best and this gives me a nice mix of more absorbant vs quick drying.

just wish someone would buy my Fuzzis now! i've even contemplated selling the Ittis as they're too narrow to accommodate a flushable liner and it's a pain scraping off poo...but they are nice and slim-fitting, not to mention cute of course.
