dd2 has a much older brother. She proudly announced that he was at looney nursery when he went off to university I never corrected her - why? it was probably apt - but her nursery teacher did

tribpot · 10/01/2009 10:32

DD2 plays in the 'Baby Jam', according to DD1. Also she says 'my do/get/read/eat it' instead of 'I do/get/read/eat it' but I don't correct her because it sounds like 'May I do/get/read/eat it', so everyone thinks that she is really polit when in fact she is both bossy and incorrect

katiepotatie · 10/01/2009 11:07

Our dd cannot say V or W sounds yet.
Olivia is Olilia, very cute
Water is Botter!

FairLadyRantALot · 10/01/2009 11:35

tribpot · 10/01/2009 12:20

MaryBS · 10/01/2009 12:44

Vilnilla = Vanilla
The rumble strip at the side of the road is known as "the bumble strip"

mamadoc · 10/01/2009 16:27

gingerbread man is my favourite of DDs she says 'mini-mini-man'

We have gone one mispronunciation further and have nuggles for cuddles which I have shamelessly reinforced cos I love it.

snigger · 10/01/2009 16:30

DD2 is six and I still have a hard time correcting her when she says "We're" instead of "Our".

MrsSanta · 10/01/2009 17:25

Just remebered when dd (7) was little and just talking she used to call her counsin Minge...her name was Imogen.

We tried our best to cover it up, Minge's parents did not know at the time. When she spoke better it changed to Inge for a while and Inge was most upset (only 18 months older than dd).

swiftyknickers · 10/01/2009 18:19

choctan for chocolate-just cant say it properly

also par cark for car park

scrummy boy x

ForeverOptimistic · 10/01/2009 18:22

Ds says "Restronk" instead of Restaurant.
"haircups" instead of hiccups.

He is 4.5 so we really should correct him but it is so cute that I can't bring myself to!

"I want you to pick my mummy up" (to me, when dd wanted to be picked up)

I am smirking at "Minge". I really need to get out more...

DD2-4, likes matoes and balloons are broons. Salami is slammi.
When i taught it seemed that every child talked about pisgetti and crips.

eekareindeer · 10/01/2009 19:01

Instead of cock a doodle doo

my DD used to say

cock a cock a doo

and, in Look For The Bear Necessities

"forget about your worries and your stripes"

CharCharGabor · 10/01/2009 19:03

DD has just started saying 'blobellies' for blueberries. It makes me want to buy more just to hear her ask for them

Tidgypuds · 10/01/2009 19:09

DD has said up until recently -
Bmato (Tomato)
Bwarm (Alarm)
Bsketti (spaghetti)
Eccnnoying or bnnoying (Annoying)
Berry (very), as in I wuvv you berry much mummy
Her friend at school Abi-girl (abigail)
All which I never want her to stop saying.

DS had a favourites of mine which now at 7 are sorely missed.

Gaga (grandma) and I thought it suited her and was an appropiate name all round
Square word (swear word)
