(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

TheLadyEvenstar: Thanks - that's great! I love getting nappies (more than even things for myself !! I have your 3 nappies packed up and will be out to the post office shortly. xx

treedelivery: yay, glad you're home - I'm sure it's a big relief. Hope the 4yo calms down & gives you a break! Oh yes, and glad you got your poochies wrap. The newborn wraps & nappies do look tiny. But all depends on how big your baby is at birth, as my first baby was only 5lb 14oz and took 6 weeks before she grew into her small Proraps and prefolds! However, her brother being only 7lb 5oz didn't last in that size for long at all (from birth!). Certainly he couldn't even fit in an xs ME Rikki wrap & tiny bimble (or whatever they're called for smallest size) really at all!

As for ages of little ones, my daughter is 3 years old and is now potty trained (she trained herself about 2 months ago). Though I still put her in ME Bedwetter pants at night just to be safe, tho they're basically always dry in the morning, so bet I'm being silly! My second child (son) is 20.5 months old...so a while to go before he's potty trained, I guess. Though he loves the idea of sitting on the potty w/ his clothes on! (as well as splashing in one after his sister has finished using it! oops!) And 3rd baby is due 1st of April...so lots more fun to come with cloth nappies! Yay!

rusmum · 26/11/2008 17:06

I USED TO LIVE IN BRIDLINGTON. xx

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 17:09

RinS - Yay a pregnant person! Wow, 3 babies. Respect!

dd1 was 8lb 4 1/2 oz - thinking tiny naps will last few weeks at most as guessing this will be some sort of 10lb child. Possibly crawling at birth.

Dunno why sort of imagined everyone with 6 to 9 month olds.

Russmum - You did? We could have had nappucino's together!! Fab age baby you have there I think, now till they start crawling is my fav. They are where you put them when you get back!

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 17:17

HI VeeBee, congrats on your 7 week old bubba!
My husband and postman think I'm a bit deranged too I think. Husband also totally nonplussed over the various systems, inners, liners and boosters. Not convinced dd2 will ever get his head round it all!

AnnVan · 26/11/2008 17:42

VeeBee - try babykind.co.uk they have Fluffles for £5.50 each. I have some - small warning for them is that the rise is very low, so if your DC is quite tall, it will start to look small very quickly (my DS is a tall lad, and at 10 weeks, I'm having some trouble already and don't think he'll be able to use them much longer ) they are super cute though, and they're DP's favourites out of the nappies we use.

AnnVan · 26/11/2008 17:46

tree my DS is 10 weeks old, he was born at 9lb 8 though - 17 days overdue He's a tall boy, and looks like a real giant next to some babies

4andnotout · 26/11/2008 18:07

TREE i have 4 dd's who are 7,3,13 months and baby is 5 weeks tommorow. I love having 2 babies in cloth.

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 18:09

Cor AnnVan, thats a big boy. What does he weigh now? Have you others?

AnnVan · 26/11/2008 18:26

hehe! got him weighed today he is 12lb 13 now. he is my first so no other DC - think would like one more so he has a brother/sister to grow up with, fught with etc (I must be mad) also would mean I get money's worth out of my nappies!

BigBadMouse · 26/11/2008 18:30

Hello all and welcome to VeeBee

Got DS weighed today - he is 6 calender months old tomorrow. ummmmmm...didn't go too well - he hasn't put on any weight in 8 weeks now so got a stern telling off from the HV and told to commence weaning asap. Came home laden with banana porridge (my DDs faves when they were littlies) and the little man ate half a weaning tub of it - held the spoon himself and dipped the spoon into the bowl and straight to his mouth - guess he was ready for it . He didn't spill a bit either bless him.

tree glad you have escaped - if I were you I'd be heading back in if your 4yo continues to be a typical 4yo . My DCs are

DD1 4.6
DD2 2.6
DS 0.6.

The two youngest are still cloth bums with DD2 being in ellas house day nappies (for a thin absorbant fit) and DS in Sandy's mainly. That said DS being my tester a lot atm and is currently sporting a rainbow lollipop pocket nappy. Nothing else works for DD2 now really.

babyjjbaby · 26/11/2008 18:42

hello evryone i have been naughty and started using disposables at night again but it is taking some of the pressure off me for a bit so will use them all up then go back to cloth full time

lollipopmother · 26/11/2008 18:45

Veebee3 - Nothing wrong with using the odd disposable, I started using cloth just in the day until I was confident with them then got myself some Ella's House Bumhuggers and use under a Motherease Airflow wrap. I would recommend buying a new-style Bumhugger 2nd hand to see how you get on, one thing i've had problems with is the fit around the leg, my DD went up a popper on the tum but not the leg so we had poo leaks for a bit, but the Airflow wraps are bomb-proof so it never made it on to her clothes, which is more than I can say for the disposables.

Tree - My DD is 10 weeks, started using cloth at three weeks and she's in XS Sandy's, S Nature Babies Lovables or Ella's Hemp for the day, and Bumhuggers at night. I also use Wonderoos in the day or as a night nappy if I think I need extra absorbency.

lollipopmother · 26/11/2008 18:50

BBM - LOL at your DS, at least the weight issue seems to have an easy remedy rather than being anything medical, I say easy because he seems to be brilliant at feeding himself already, bet that's taken all the fun out of it eh!!

BabyJ - Are you still struggling to find a nappy that you're happy with?

AnnVan · 26/11/2008 18:50

oh yeah tree DS started in cloth around day 4 or 5 and wears Bambinex Teddies Bambinex bamboos, tots fluffles and now have a couple of small sandy's as well. (all with Airflow wraps)

Speaking of my bamboo nappies - I am considering selling them off to get a few more Sandy's does anyone know what a reasonable price would be for them?

babyjjbaby · 26/11/2008 18:55

lollipop no i am happy with my terry sqaures for the day but need some new wraps and some boosters but haven't got the money atm so thats why i am using disposibles as i have got some already i really need at least one more wrap and a few boosters but good bossters for night

rusmum · 26/11/2008 18:55

Ann van selling teddies?? i will buy some as love them!!

lollipopmother · 26/11/2008 19:11

Notcitrus - Are you using Motherease Sandy's? Mine are the normal cotton kind and normally dry inside in 24h which I don't class as a particularly long time. If you want a fast drying nappy you should find something microfibre and with a removable insert. I use Nature Babies Microfibre Lovables and they dry in about 2h and the inserts maybe 3 or 4h, they are brilliant, and also last 4h on my DD who is only a week or so younger than your DS.

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 19:17

ooooo so many babies.

BBM - do 4 year olds have attitude? I have had the easiest kid really - she's always been difficult to get to sleep but no one's perfect. At moment she is how I imagine Dianna Ross/other diva on a bad day!! WE waited till dd1 was going to school tillhaving another to 'make it easier' as I find toddlers full on, bu tthink this may have back fired as she was a doddle as a toddler. ROLL ON SCHOOL IN SEPTEMBER. Lord forgive me but somedays I just feel like that.

There's a boarding school up the road....

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 19:23

Can I really get away with not many wraps? Mum looked really suspicious when I said 4. I seem to remember breast feeding poo leaking out of everywhere with dd1 so in reality will I need more?

BBM - ds breast or bottle? Only cos breasties gain weight in such a different way. I have a fab link to the WHO centile charts taking feeding method into account, rather than the red book - based on formula fed babs. ONE day the UK might get round to adopting these as well as the formula ones.
He sounds like he'll like his dinners!! So satisfying when they tuck in.

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 19:31

BTW - if any of you are breastfeeding, Blooming MArvellous have breastfeeding vests in the nightware section at moment for £7-£8, half price!!

And loads of other lovlies I may have dabbled in....

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/11/2008 19:36

LOOK WHAT I MADE!

treedelivery · 26/11/2008 19:38

OOOo well done you!!

How long did it take and what's it made from and wher did fabric come from and and and ohhhh. Brill.

babyjjbaby · 26/11/2008 19:39

thats great lady

TheLadyEvenstar · 26/11/2008 19:46

there are 3 layers and it is a pocket nappy.

inner layer white terry (bought at local fabric shop)

Middle layer orange towel (cut an old one up)

Outer layer blue camoflague fleece (bought at same shop)

Took me about 45minutes to make including cutting it out etc BUT this is the very first one I have ever made so I assume I can get quicker.....

I might even make them to order if anyone is interested and they will be very very cheap lol.....

can get all colour fleece.
