(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

Hi Ann - I have enough trouble keeping up with the PN thread but I thought why not I need something to keep my occupied during those long feeds.

thebluefoxategreensocks · 24/11/2008 20:15

oopsacoconut: Welcome to the "club"! LOL We all love cloth nappies over here! What fun getting 2 big bags of nappies - bet you can't wait to see what all is in there - like a treasure chest!!

lollipopmother · 25/11/2008 11:11

Anyone who uses Bumhuggers - do you boost with anything? My DD is normally in hers for about 8h and it's so soggy in the morning that i'd be amazed if she's comfortable, although her bum is only sort of clammy rather than actually wet.

Hi there was just wondering if anyone has used these nappies? I currently use a mixture of wonderoos, bumgenius and bumbles but need to stock up my collection for dc2 arriving in a few weeks. Any opinions would be great.
oopsacoconunt i was just wondering the same question myself about the double fleece layer as lately dd has been getting nappy rash and seems to be worse if I use the fleece liner as well but I like using them as I think it protects the nappy

lollipopmother · 25/11/2008 11:51

I haven't used those nappies before so can't comment, but the advert looks so horrendous that I wouldn't want to chance the seller anyway!

4andnotout · 25/11/2008 12:13

lolipop i always use a booster between the bumhugger and wrap, usually hemp, bamboo or a couple of microfibre cloths.
The feedback for the nappies on ebay is very good but im always nervous of buying from abroad. They are very cheap though which is v.tempting

rusmum · 25/11/2008 12:19

are all bumhugers the same?????

4andnotout · 25/11/2008 12:24

The new bumhuggers have a pocket which the pull out hemp tongue can go in (and a bit of stuffing in if needed) the older ones dont. I havent noticed any difference in drying times tho

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 12:41

who wants my bumhuggers????

come onnnnnnnnnnnn lol

swampster · 25/11/2008 13:06

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 13:10

rusmum · 25/11/2008 13:17

By the way EVERYONE DH got as a new job!!!!! so things looking slightly better.

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 13:23

Rusmum, will take pics later if you want but they are in VGC. I treat my nappies better than I treat myself lol. they are washed on 40 or 60, with non bio, and white vinegar.

then tumble dried so lovely n soft.

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 13:27

Are any of you near a tk maxx?

oopsacoconut · 25/11/2008 14:01

Yes, why?

rusmum · 25/11/2008 14:47

yes going tomorow y????

lollipopmother · 25/11/2008 15:40

I much prefer the new-style BH's, the old style ones i've got have the tendency to go lumpy but with the new style ones I can make sure the tongue dries flat.

4andnotout What sort of cloths? Iwent looking in Sainsburys for mf cloths and could only find some patterned ones that were quite expensive. The economy cloths didn't say what they were made of.

Rusmum Congrats to your DH!

rusmum · 25/11/2008 16:30

lollipop tesco mf cloths 89p and white!

notcitrus · 25/11/2008 17:53

Hello!
Just wondering how other people wash their cloth nappies? A is 11 weeks and I've been washing at 60 degrees with Ariel non-bio, which works well, and no noticable difference when we ran out of Nappisan. But at 40 degrees Ecover and Persil don't get the yellow out at all. Don't want to use hot water if I can avoid it but I don't want skanky nappies either!

Using mainly Motherease which are great although take forever to dry, and need more velcro wraps because I hate the popper ones. Also have Bumgenius which worked well for first 5 weeks but now leak everywhere. And some terrys with Nappy Nation outers, which seem uncomfortable as well as leaky. The Mothercare Smartnappies were good but A grew out of them in 4 weeks...
Also have one Bambini bamboo one but can never find it and the wrap at the same time...

I wasn't expecting to become a cloth nappy devotee but got given some from SIL1 and then got a mountain of Motherease ones from Freecycle, and generally they're working really well, and you avoid that feeling of wasted money when your baby pees while you're putting a clean nappy on!

rusmum · 25/11/2008 18:09

i wash at pre rinse and wash at 40. dont use napisan.

rusmum · 25/11/2008 18:28

theladyeveningstar did you say your huggas were new or old style?? forgot sorry.

PS WHY TK MAXX??

swampster · 25/11/2008 18:45

This should put you all out of your TK MAXX misery!

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 20:32

oopps tk maxx are selling tots at £25 for a whole load apparently!!! and my local one is not doing them just wondered if anyone was local to one that was doing them and I could send money via paypal

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/11/2008 20:37

VeeBee3 · 25/11/2008 20:42

Evening Ladies!

I'm new to mumsnet and new to cloth nappies. Have spent afternoon reading a bit of your chat and have decided to join MN so i could speak to you all!!
My DH i bored rigid with all my talk of nappies so is great to find others who understand my obsession. Thought i was going a little nuts buying all these nappies but i just love them. However am still trying to find some more to add to my growing collection!!
DS2 is now 7 weeks and i'm using cloth with the occassional disposable when i'm behind on the washing (we bought a stack before deciding to use reusables).Have now got enough reusables to use full time but am not sure which to use for nightime. I have mothercare smart nappies which were great price and using terry nappies to top up my stash.
Anyone with any ideas on what to use for nights?
Thanks xx
