GENERAL CHAT THREAD FOR CLOTH NAPPY USERS - PART 3

1000 replies

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 30/10/2008 19:29

(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

OP posts:

swampster · 15/11/2008 19:20

Next time give her a strict changing schedule: they are due a change at xx o'clock, and again at yy o'clock. And of course, they need to be changed at once if they poo! OR ELSE!!!

matnan did you want the nappies hunni?

MatNanPlus · 15/11/2008 22:41

Have tardily replied to your email TLE ILMD sorry just not on, 6 hours, 2 or 3 would be ok but she is nuts, poor littlies.

mybabywakesupsinging · 16/11/2008 00:10

ILMD my mum has only changed one nappy: ds1 3, ds2 1, and that was a disposable (one day after we moved house). She put it on backwards (how?) and ds2 took great pleasure in piddling everywhere...
Maybe I should have handed her a terry square and a pin....

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 16/11/2008 09:28

MIL arrived yesterday, have dispo ready, though hopefully she won't need to do any nappy change... well, she got dd, 10wks old, summer clothes, 0-3 and 3-6, and lots of crib/cot blankets (we had too many already from ds and dd will be out of crib soon), so not even contempating of showing her my sandy's!

MatNanPlus · 16/11/2008 12:41

Sunshine can you return the summer clothes? and the bedding? even without a reciept many shops will do exchanges?

MyBaby i have put dispies on backwards deliberately in the summer when that was all child was wearing to prevent removal but not had accidents from it.

rusmum · 16/11/2008 19:46

baby have found whale design air flow in whale design???? £4

babyjjbaby · 16/11/2008 19:51

sorry i got one now and it still isn't the same patern i want the same as what lollipop has lent me

Essie3 · 16/11/2008 21:25

Ilovemydog NOT unreasonable at all! Shocking!
My MIL makes a big deal of saying all the time that she won't change nappies. That's fine; she won't get to babysit her only grandson! Babysitters who won't change nappies = chocolate teapots...

Hi all - please sympathise with me. I seem to have lost one of the soakers for a yellow pop-in! I've looked a bit, will look more and report back...

MatNanPlus · 16/11/2008 23:00

Oh dear Essie hope it has only gone on a short vacation

@ MIL = CT

Baby can you photograph it and upload to profile?

mybabywakesupsinging · 16/11/2008 23:20

it may have been the three inches or so of loose nappy round the waist that did it...
She is so competent usually that is nice to have something to tease her about!

foxytocin · 17/11/2008 00:59

finding the dm and MIL stories funny. surely the nappied in the days of terries and pins. spoke to a colleage yesterday about her 18yo and she and her mate talked about using real nappies because disp were so expensive back then. a pack of 20 was the same as child benefit for a week!

babyjjbaby · 17/11/2008 08:08

i can't now cos it is wrapped up ready to post to lollipop it has got like whales and dolphins on

lollipopmother · 17/11/2008 13:50

Rusmum The wrap is 'our oceans' exactly as shown on this link

ILMD 6 hours is ridiculous, however when I first had my DD I kept forgetting to change her nappy, I would feel massively guilty every time I remembered. It was never 6 hours though, but if she's not used to looking after kids she may have just totally forgotten.

babyjjbaby · 17/11/2008 14:43

thanks lollipop i can no wlook for a ocean print one wa sgutted when the whale print one arrived and i realised it wa sdifferent will be posting ur sandys tomorro sorry it has taken so long

LackaDAISYcal · 17/11/2008 18:17

I'm just looking for Ilovemydog..........wondering if she can add anything to this thread?

still not using my fluff yet as DS2 is pooing for a small country and we are barely on top of the washing as it is.......soon though!!

breaghsmum · 17/11/2008 19:42

i took my son out of his creche because they left him in the same nappy for 6 hours so i totally agree that you should be annoyed about that. i agree with the definite schedule for changes next time she babysits and if t happens again i just wouldnt send them back. its not fair on them. surely she knows how often a nappy should be changed, shes raised children.!!!!

MatNanPlus · 17/11/2008 19:56

BabyJJ do you not want the whales you have?

Looking to sell it?

Size?

BigBadMouse · 17/11/2008 20:10

Lollipop - do you want to try a Ellas House Day Nappy? (Saw your post on other thread)

Essie3 · 17/11/2008 20:54

Pop-ins - just noticed that my friends at babipur.co.uk are selling them for £12 each - the cheapest around?? Also 10% off with code F200.

ilovemydog · 17/11/2008 21:18

Lacka - responded to crash thread. It's awful. I had to spend £300.00 on new car seats. And they look exactly the same.

OK, infinitely cleaner, but you get the idea.

If you had £300, what would you spend it on?

Sandy's colored

Is it weird to ask for them from my mom (who can buy them from Canada very cheaply) for my birthday, or is this just too sad?
