GENERAL CHAT THREAD FOR CLOTH NAPPY USERS - PART 3

1000 replies

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 30/10/2008 19:29

(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

OP posts:

Lady Ha, no i didn't make the wet-bag hun, no chance of that! I just bought matching fleece for the wipes!

lollipopmother · 12/11/2008 17:16

Jesus, C4C prices are absolutely scandalous!

wastingmyeducation · 12/11/2008 17:41

Lovely stuff though, I got a couple of bits in the sale. The vests fit! FIL asked if there was anything practical we wanted for DS for xmas, and I asked for some C4C trousers. None of the other trousers we've got come close to fitting.

xx

I'd love one of those kimono style bodysuits... Maia is still using wrap-style long-sleeved vests which I love, but she'll outgrow soon , guess the fact that I wore them after my two cousins (then passed to my brother, another cousin, my sister, my niece and then DS) makes them even more special...

rusmum · 12/11/2008 19:15

bbm bambinex teddies. your opinion please??????

still need something for nught, also my sandys smell likeet dogs?????

BigBadMouse · 12/11/2008 19:24

rusmum - I answered that one on here on Monday .

Really easy to get the smell out of Sandy's - have you got any biological powder to hand?

TheLadyEvenstar · 12/11/2008 20:25

Nobody want any of my nappies???????

AnnVan · 12/11/2008 20:34

Rusmum - Know I may be sticking my nose in but I personally love the Teddies - ver cute & fluffy, gorgeous colours and they stay soft and dry superquick -so even if I'm running low on nappies, I know the Teddies will dry quick enough that I don't have to resort to dispos. Not sure I'd recommend for night use, although I am having to use them at night atm for lack of anything else really. Have some fluffles which I also love, but even they aren't quite enough for DS's prodigious wee capacity to last well overnight. God listen to me have turned into a complete loser, extolling the virtues of nappies on the other hand - I don't really care, It gives me something to feel great about every day! (and DS too obviously)

BigBadMouse · 12/11/2008 20:43

AnnVan - that's what I said about them (I think ). Cloth nappies are a great way of getting rid of mums you don't want to talk to .......'ooooh have you seen my new wraps? They have lovely deep gussets!' etc etc

DD1 once took one look at a woman in Morrisons who was wearing a fleece jacket and pointed very clearly at her and shouted 'Mummy, that lady looks like the inside of DD2's nappy!' - I was mortified but also deparately trying not to laugh - DD1 was quite right, the lady's coat was made from the same patterned fleece as the inside of DD2s bumhugger.

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 12/11/2008 21:17

Only ever buy C4C (Frugi) in sales, otherwise it's extortion.

What is it with males an nappies? I get home and DP put DS (aged 8 months) in DD's (aged 2) nappy! . Wouldn't the size be a bit of a clue?

sambo303 · 12/11/2008 21:41

Hello Ann are there more of us Aug 08ers on this thread? Sorted my poo question - cleaned nappies using vanish stick and cold water and washed at 60 degrees on 1.5 hour cycle - thus wiping out carbon footprint saving effort of using cloth nappies in the first place!!

Purchased Easy Peasy Eco Bumbles from ebay - 15 in the set, and microfibre for quick drying...my usual excuse for using disposables is I dont have enough cloth nappies to go full-time-cloth. Hope this is not the start of nappy obsession.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 12/11/2008 21:49

sambo - it probably is...

I want those coloured Sandy's now, one of each colour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

rusmum · 12/11/2008 21:51

bbm found it.lol do you like them? where they in absorbancy stakes??

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 12/11/2008 21:53

colored Sandy's? Who's making colored Sandy's?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 12/11/2008 22:08

Ilove - from another thread (not taking credits away from anyone!) here

AnnVan · 12/11/2008 22:15

OMG sunflower - they look adorable! now thinking I'd like to try a sandy with a view to poss buying some in size two for when he's older!

AnnVan · 12/11/2008 22:16

Sambo Iknow No1's been on here, we'll have to see if oops decides to join us here too

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 12/11/2008 22:29

Thanks Sunnflower! I didn't know I needed these!

Seriously cute colors - I always go back to Sandy's.

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 12/11/2008 22:35

I know, as soon as I saw them I felt DD really really really doesn't have enough nappies ... it'd be nice if they did the bamboo ones too...

AnnVan · 13/11/2008 07:55

So everyone I know bbm's opinion (hard not to ) so what i everyone else's opinion of sandy's? Is it worth buying one to try out?

BigBadMouse · 13/11/2008 09:28

rusmum yes they're fine. AnnVan has probably used them more than me as I find MF a bit too bulky and I don't like aplis nappies - I only use them occassionally so I remember what they are like if I get asked! They are pretty absorbant but not as much as you might expect from all the hype about microfibre. The best bit about MF is the softness and the quick drying.....and they are cute though

If anyone likes MEOS they do those in the same colours too.

rusmum · 13/11/2008 09:28

ANnVan i tried on eand now use nearly only sandys!!! BEWARE> WHat do you ise?

SunflowerNeedsSunshine · 13/11/2008 09:35

AnnVan - they're brilliant - I have bamboo ones, as hard water here (in fact, nearly all my nappies are bamboo). they're basiacally like the airflow, so more like a coulotte cut than pants cut like totbots for example, so great for explosive poos. I find it that even when I change dd after 3-4 hours, the sides and top are still dry (I had cotton xs ones, so difficult to compare absorbence-wise, but I think BBM said that organics are very absorbant too). quite slim fitting too, not as slim as bamboozles, but it's just because of the shape as suppose to the thickness really, so clothes still fit pretty well. So yes, I'd say get a couple and you'll see you'll get more (and as soon as the colored ones are available in UK I'll be the first to add them to my collection... )

rusmum · 13/11/2008 09:39

LOL nappies nappies. are my regular sandys not that absorbant then??

Wondroos = what these like?? ok for night??

still looking for cheap bumhuggers (newer version).

rusmum · 13/11/2008 09:40

sun what bamboo ones like?? i fancy some of those.
