(Incredibly childish) BBM sneakily makes part 3 thread and places Sandy's flag at the top for a second time.

(Flag is made from organic cotton and has been dry pailed and washed at 40C)

Well DS is 11 1/2 lb - which size would he be? he's in size one teddies and fluffles.

BigBadMouse · 10/11/2008 13:01

rusmum - yep forgot the fluffle is lower rise - the nippa fit one can be hoisted a bit though! Littke Lamb do s microfibre too - sometimes you find them on ebay very cheaply.

evenstar - thanks . I might take you up on that offer one day!

Annvan 11.5lb - he'll be overtaking my DS soon (not difficult to dosince he refuses to gain weight!)

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/11/2008 13:14

Going to have a search through all my nappies to see what i have that may interest you all lol....ds2 is 14m and 28.5lbs. I know i have 12 btp nappies which i love but as i have to get rid of some i shall sell these ones.

BBM if you look on my profile the top piccy is ds2 in the soaker i made (proud of myself lol) it was first one i have ever done!

BigBadMouse · 10/11/2008 13:27

evenstar - they look really good. Glad to see someone else who 'isn't into TV' - I always get funny looks when I say that

TheLadyEvenstar · 10/11/2008 13:54

BBM I just find it so mind numbing. I limit ds1 as well, and ds2 well at his age his attention span is small lol that sounds bad does't it.

BBM how old is your LO? and what size nappy is he in? I wanna have a go at making a smaller soaker now lol

AnnVan · 10/11/2008 14:07

BBM - I'm not into tv either - there's nothing on worth watcing! MIL's DP pays £50 a month for full sky package, yet when I flick through their channels there's still sod all on!

BigBadMouse · 10/11/2008 14:34

evenstar / annvan - yep me too. I find it all pretty dull. I watch the F1 when I can but I find I never have enough time all at once to be able to sit and follow a plot. My DCs watch DVDs or videos but never just TV - I'm not sure they actually realise that TV itself exists . I had horrors at the thought of the long christmas lists if they got into Lazytown or similar - there is so much merchandise! Downside is I have terrible problems finding things like swimbags, pjs, slippers etc that aren't Dora, In the night garden, HSM etc, Upside is I have a great excuse to watch fraggle Rock and The Muppet show again . at £50pcm on TV!

Evenstar - he is 25weeks and 6.8Kg which is 15lb I think. I think he is on a diet - not put on anything for over a month now. He's rather poorly atm - boy flu!

wastingmyeducation · 10/11/2008 15:53

BBM - my DS is 26 weeks and was 15lb 12oz on Tuesday, after a big growth spurt! I hope he's feeling better soon. I recommend vest extenders for long skinny boys with big nappy bums.

xx

MatNanPlus · 10/11/2008 18:23

Hi Everyone,

Well, the Bambino Mio Medium wraps for 7-9kgs (16-21lbs) have been outgrown at 8kgs!!

Now in the large of which i have new and old style and the new style fit well at the moment and the old style are huge!!

Tho the size 1 Tots Bots Wrap - Velcro is fab still, go figure.

Love the loo shower, used one last year at a UK hotel very nice

Essie3 · 10/11/2008 19:00

Evening all! Hope you missed me! Not been anywhere, just getting things done at home and doing my usual move from London to Wales (ah, split living!). Also finishing a bit of patchwork for expected babies!

Got a question for all now.
I'm a pop-in user (you don't say! ) but recently DS has been wet in the mornings. We tried different things like wiping off the massage oil, but he's consistently wet every morning.
Nappies are on for 12 hours or so.
He's 21 weeks.
We've just been using the slimline booster, not the whole night booster - when do babies start needing night boosters?

We're going to try a night booster tonight and will report back in the morning!

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 10/11/2008 19:16

*BBM hope DS is getting better. My DS is weight shy, but it would appear he's getting longer. rapidly.

Anyone know about loo showers? Attachments that go straight onto the toilet?

BigBadMouse · 10/11/2008 19:33

Essie - You use Pop-ins? - you haven't mentioned this before surely? DD2 needed a booster at night from 17 weeks -DSuperwee-er has had them from birth .

ILMD - My DH knows about the loo showers, you can definitely get them to suit UK plumbing. I will ask him if/when I next speak to him and I can slip in into the conversation. All still very calm here thanks. DS def has boy flu - he screamed non stop for two hours last night, nothing would comfort him. I'm sure he is just a bad patient - couldn't really notice anything badly wrong with him other than some teething and this nasty cold. My neighbour probably thought I had gone out to the pub and left him - the thought did cross my mind once or twice to do just that

Wastingmyeducation - Thanks for the tip. I have just managed get a vest extender on here FFP and I love it - I hope it breeds like my nippas seem to - they're everywhere!

MatNanPlus · 10/11/2008 19:47

ILMD Here, referred to as Muslim Showers!

Essie3 · 10/11/2008 19:52

Crikey, 'Muslim Shower' isn't very PC is it?

MatNanPlus · 10/11/2008 20:02

Indeed not Essie

After some research it seems it can be called an indian shower, it is due to the fact that in these countries it is used instead of toilet paper as said paper clogs the pipes so is put in the trash bin, so the shower cleans and the paper dries, so meaning not skidded paperin the bin!

ilovemydogandPresidentObama · 10/11/2008 21:13

matnan - thanks! I referred to muslin cloths as muslim cloths on another thread

I really like the shower head by the toilet idea. For nappies, obviously!

swampster · 10/11/2008 22:14

You can get them here, IlovemydogandPresidentObama, try googling "hand held bidet" or "shattaf". They are VERY popular on the Continent. In Finland they call them pussy phones.

AnnVan · 10/11/2008 22:26

Essie - DS is a very heavy wetter - he HAS to have boosters in all his nappies. He managed to wee right trough a bamboo one as I was doing the nippa - caught my fingers with a little wee fountain bubbling up through the cloth!
Think he may have diarrhoea

BigBadMouse · 11/11/2008 09:33

rofl at 'pussyphones'

lollipopmother · 11/11/2008 09:33

AnnVan I currently have a Bumhugger being tried by Sunflower, if you like I can get her to send it on to you rather than back to me so you can try it before you buy?

Wonderoos have passed the poo test! I went to see a friend 3 hrs away yesterday and Elizabeth pood on both journeys. In dispicables she used to leak if she pood whilst sitting down so I assume it puts extra strain on a nappy, but no leaks! Also no leak from BHugger this morning either but I think that must be a fluke!

Essie Your pop-ins sound crap, I would suggest getting rid of them straight away by selling them as a cut-price deal to me

lollipopmother · 11/11/2008 09:37

Swampster Who on earth told you about pussy phones?! Are you sure they weren't having you on?!!

BBM Sorry to hear that your DS isn't putting on weight, I don't know much about this baby lark as Elizabeth is my PFB, is it serious not to have put on weight at that age? Surely if he's feeding ok??

BigBadMouse · 11/11/2008 09:50

Hello lollipop - with pfb I think I would have been frantic but fortunately I had a good little pfb who had read all the manuals and knew what she was supposed to do . DS is my PNTB (poor neglected third born) thankfully so I am a lot calmer. He's 25 weeks (I think ) sitting up, commando crawling, rolling, laughing, smiling and chatting away. He's a happy bunny who is developing well in every other way so I'm not concerned. Problem is easily solved by not getting him weighed so often . Bless him though, he is still really rough today so it's another trip to the docs to check for a secondary bacterial infection in his chest, throat etc.

lollipopmother · 11/11/2008 10:17

Oh dear, he sounds very poorly . I didn't get Elizabeth weighed for 4 weeks because I didn't want to get too fixated with how much she was putting on, I just went with the fact that I was happy with how she was feeding. I had her weighed at 7 weeks and she had put on 1lb 13oz, so I won't get her weighed again for a couple of weeks
although I'm taking her to Water Babies in 2 weeks and they don't normally take babies who are under 12lb or under 12 weeks (whichever comes first) hence much bribing with promises of putting her in a wet-suit etc etc and she's in! I bet she hates it now!!
