Ooohh me too! DS was born 12 hours before I was due to be induced. My consultant said it's really common and certainly a lot of people on my antenatal thread had the same experience so finger crossed eh?

MNP - IF you use fleece liners do make sure you have at least some in cream or white. DS has been unwell recently and I was told to carefully monitor his dirty nappy situation - not easy to do when you have blue liners (makes everything look green ). I use fleece liners for my two but mainly as a stay-dry layer. Runny poo does stick to them but anything more solid comes of surprisingly easily. I've never heard of anyone hemming them to make a dam at the sides. I use huge liners so that they give the maximum area of dryness and it saves anything untoward getting stuck in the elastic of your nappies. Some paper liners give my DCs a rash.

KOHM - I sometimes wash in Bio - 'tis good for getting persistant urine smells out. I think there a few Mnetters who wash everything in Bio - it certainly makes no difference which I use for my DCs and DD1 has very sensitive skin. DS has had things washed in Bio since he was newborn.

I'm going to put my small airflow wraps on here soon so if anyone wants any let me know. I somehow ended up with 6 so they haven't had much use.

Ohhhh...... It's you! Yes, I think you have - I shall confirm right away

lollipopmother · 09/09/2008 15:13

BBM - I've just taken a peek at your profile and the pics of your DS in the Wonderoos and Flexitot are the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen! I can't believe they sell these things saying that they will fit a newborn! Thankfully I am very encouraged by your pics of the Sandy's and Fluffles as I have them ready to go and they are my favourite two types!

BigBadMousey · 09/09/2008 15:41

yes, I know! The wonderoo would have gone smaller in the rise but it was a far more awkward fit that way - could have been down to operator error though! - there would have been a fair bit of fiddling involved to get it smaller and neater and tbh I think that defeats much of the object of pocket nappies. The Flexitot is supposed to be thin fitting but I really don't agree - even when not on it was much thicker than a lot of other brands I have (even some of the size 2s. It had a lovely feel to it but I'm really not convinced it's all they have made it up to be (as is often the case with TB IMO ).

He is still in the Small Sandy's and the Size 1 nippa fluffle btw (with room for growth) and he is 15wo and just over the 50th last time I got him weighed - they are both still a great fit because they are so flexible.

BBM, lollipop is spreading a rumour you might be selling some small motherease wraps....... are they MEOS? how much are you looking for them?

am dying to use sandies on dc3 too, i got 10 as flame had them on 5% off if you got 10 and they are so damn cute [swoons]

treated myself to 2 bambeasy as well and damn near had a hormonal breakdown when they came.... they're so tiny and fluffy! i'm afraid to prewash them in case my hard water murders them!

BigBadMousey · 09/09/2008 16:11

pinktulips - Yes, I've just moved DS over to the Mediums so I'm selling the Small as there will be no more tiny monsters for us after him.

MEOS are nappies, I'm selling Motherease Airflow wraps (the best) which can go over pretty much any nappy you have apart from prefolds. These are airflows. I have one wetlands and several savannah prints - if you click on the 'more images' link you'll see the patterns.

AnnVan · 09/09/2008 18:06

Lollipop - I got four size2 fluffles off twinkleontheweb - £6 each! and I got 3 size 1s off Boocoo - the links are on here somewhere, I think it was KOMH who posted the booco link.

BBM just looked at your profile - love the pics. Hmm, you're into jazz, I see? I play piano (mainly classical) and clarinet (Jazz and blues fiend) although my clarinet seems to have gone missing

I have a question about the nappi nippas. My size 2 bamboos nappies and the fluffles I bought are all nippa fastening. Of course, I haven't actually USED nappie nippas, so now I'm seriously hoping that they're easy to get the hang of - are they??

Funny people mention Bamboozles being problematic, my sister used them for her DD in size 2 and I don't think she was that impressed with them. THe flexitot looks really bulky to me even in the pics on the vararious nappy websites tbh

MatNanPlus · 09/09/2008 18:49

BBM are they really not suitable for use with prefolds? ours are huge the prefolds that is?? really like the designs she is 15lb so would they not work for a few weeks.

MatNanPlus · 09/09/2008 18:50

I'm waiting for more at BooCoo

MatNanPlus · 09/09/2008 18:53

Who was looking for XS sandy's? or size1 Fluffles?

Both look to be available down the BooCoo sale page

KOMH, I got the wetbag from a woman on another website with a cloth nappy selling section, not sure if I can mention it here?? I am forever browsing the forum and picking up bits and pieces to try. I think I may have to stop now as 43 nappies is possibly enough for any new baby . All but 8 are pre-loved too, so probably saved a fortune while I make up my mind what I like.

I use this site for second hand, pre-loved nappies and accessories. Had some right bargains off there and all good stuff so far.

Heartmum2Jamie · 09/09/2008 19:37

Ohhh, I do love the Used site too , have had some ex-demo stuff from there.

BigBadMousey · 09/09/2008 19:39

AnnVann I find nippas very easy to use - especially on fluffles (becasue they are sooooo fluffly). I have come across a few people who could not get on with them but I've never had a problem using them with bamboo and cotton terries and fluffles. What are the size 2 nippa bamboo you have? Some types of bamboo don't take too well to nippa-ing and the nippas can shred the fabric after a while. You can always use pins if that happened though. The worse thing you can do is put a nippa face down on the carpet once your baby is mobile - by the time you get the nippa to let go your DC will be out of the room (I speak from experience!). Yes I like Jazz . I like lots of different things and have quite a wide range of musical influences. Jazz wise I'm a Miles Davis fan if you're going for pure jazz stuff - otherwise I enjoy the likes of The Brecker Brothers, Mahavishnu Orchestra etc. I always wanted to play the Oboe but can't play anything that requires me to blow down it . Clarinet is cool too - hope you find yours . My main instrument is Bass but I also play Drums Guitar and (badly) Piano. What sort of Jazz do you like? We have a very popular Jazz festival down here every year but it is all 'traditional Dixieland stuff which isn;t my cup of tea .

Size 1 bamboozles are quite good but size 2 are awful - strange but true. I'm selling the last of my size 1s too if anyone is interested . TB market the flexitot as thin fitting

MatNanPlus - Do you mean Airflows not being suitable for prefolds? If so then yes I'm afraid they would be a poor choice. You need something gussetted and bombproof - airflows are the latter but not the former. Good news is is that the Motherease Rikki comes in the same patterns and works well with Prefolds

That is the first post I have done for 15 weeks without simultaneously bf . Yes - he feeds a lot

Heartmum2Jamie · 09/09/2008 19:44

BBM, I was just having a sneak at your profile, your kids are gorgeous! I was having a giggle at your ds in his big bottom nappies, bless him! How heavy was he born? I am hoping to go straight to cloth, which I guess won't be a problem if my estimation of 9lb is right! Oh, and we have similar interests, I love veg gardening and am really into F1 (except for the politics....don't even get me started!)

MatNanPlus · 09/09/2008 19:47

Great TY BBM will be on the look out for Rikki as love the patterns thosoon be cooler here and sundress and wrap will be obsolete
