Why are things always ruined by uncivilsed people?

My DH has two weeks off work so started taking DS to a pre-school group last week. He started on the monday and DH said a couple of kids were mean to him, pushing him away from toys and ganging up on him.

On wednesday on the way there two boys ran up behind DS and started saying "woooo!" and putting their hands up like ghosts. DS got all upset and hid behind DH and apparantly DH and the kids mothers just laughed it off although DH was secretely annoyed that they didn't tell their kids off.
Thursday it happened again and DS went into the group crying his eyes out because of the ghost things on the way there so as they were walking home DH asked the women if they could have a word with their kids about scaring DS as its started to put him off the group. They apparantly grinned at each other but agreed

Anyway on Friday they were on their way there and apparantly as the women walked past DH they said "woooo!" in his ear and burst out laughing to each other DH burst out crying and they ended up coming home early and now both are saying they don't want to go anymore.

I'm so annoyed that a group of thugs are spoiling this for them. DH doesn't get much time off work as it is.

I'm debating whether I should take DS tomorow and tell the women to leave DS and DH alone or would this make it worse??? either way I don't want them to stop going, why should they?

RIP the hamster. I hope that its ghost doesn't come back to visit...

ruddynorah · 03/08/2008 18:47

how did his hamster die? did you accidently cook him in a casserole?

cornsilk · 03/08/2008 18:48

His hamster died? Was it possessed?

He's an animal lover, if it had been a dog would it have been more worthy of being upset over?

And my family are not wimpy, thanks.

MrPlasterCaster has a grip on neither his emotions nor his beverage and he's being haunted by the Undead.

What a nightmare.

PlasterCaster · 03/08/2008 18:49

It was just old, he'd had it for a couple of years.
At first we thought it had got itself stuck under the exercise wheel and suffocated. DH was in a right state but I'm sure it was just old age now.

You're telling us porkies.

CaptFabioHiltsCatInTheCooler · 03/08/2008 18:50

Who ya gonna call?

Did Hammy fall asleep at the wheel?
You can get done for that.

cocolepew · 03/08/2008 18:50

Oh crap! Was it suicide?

ruddynorah · 03/08/2008 18:51

oh well at least it wasn't another hamsetr casserole incident. that happened to another very troubled mner a while ago.

cornsilk · 03/08/2008 18:51

But you have your doubts don't you plaster caster - what do you think really happened to the hamster?

elliephant · 03/08/2008 18:51

what sort of eejit of a grown woman does that to another parent at a play group ?? Your DH shoudn't be embarrassed, that woman should be. If my 5 year old was upsetting another child like that I wouldn't be sniggering about it.

MrsWeasley · 03/08/2008 18:52

here

muggglewump · 03/08/2008 18:53

A right state about a hamster?
Nope, you are wimpy, well at least your DH is to cry in the street about it triggerred by 5yr olds making ghost noises.

You are a troll though, well at least I hope you are

PlasterCaster · 03/08/2008 18:53

I think I'm just going to leave this thread actually. I actually find it very upsetting that my DH has worked his arse off since january with very few days off (not even sundays) and now when he has a fortnight off and he and DS have a chance to spend some time together a group of fishwives and their kids spoil it.
Hope none of your kids or DH's ever suffer bullying and you have to see it from the other side. see how funny it is then.

PlasterCaster · 03/08/2008 18:55

Thanks elliephant. good to know there are others that see the real issue here and that is some stupid ADULT woman picking on another parent and encouraging her kids to upset others.

princessglitter · 03/08/2008 18:55

I'm sorry, but this really made me laugh!

cocolepew · 03/08/2008 18:56

RIP

FrannyandZooey · 03/08/2008 18:56

is your name Cynthia?

I have noticed people are VERY quick to laugh at a man crying on here
it seems to be quite acceptable to find it really funny

muggglewump · 03/08/2008 18:57

You're right, it would be terrible if a couple of kids made ghost noises at me. A certain case of bullying and I'd see the other side.
This man is a father right and there to look after and protect your son?
I'd question that for a start, if he's likely to burst into tears then how good a protector is he? What example is he setting?

PlasterCaster · 03/08/2008 18:58

he's suffering with depression but hey, he's a bloke so should just get over it, right?

OP posts:
Bronze · 03/08/2008 18:58

Whats wrong with being a fishwife. I'm sure our fishmongers wife would be highly insulted.
I'm pretty sure she wouldn't cry though.

PlasterCaster · 03/08/2008 18:59

And it wasn't the kids that made noises at DH, it was the woman. He should have punched her. Would it still be funny then?

OP posts:
princessglitter · 03/08/2008 19:01

I wouldn't laugh at a man crying- but the incident described here seems more like a silly joke on the part of the women involved. If your dh is depressed then that is a separate issue - but wasn't mentioned in the OP and we are not mindreaders.

cocolepew · 03/08/2008 19:02

You thought Hammy had died but he ran away to start a new life** Caution spooky music
