I am a 48-year-old man with a classic style (every day in shirt, dress pants, tassel loafers) and my wife wants my both ears to be pierced with real diamonds set on yellow gold (identical to those worn by women).I have two children: a son (11) and a daughter (13). They will be very surprised to see me with both ears pierced by real diamonds. Should I talk to them about it before? How would you react if your classic-style father pierced both of his ears with real women’s diamonds? Thank you for your advice. Michael.

You said that. What makes you think it would be a big deal? What are you afraid of?

Just get them pierced with little gold studs like most people do and then you can always change in some not really women's earrings when you want to.
