Do you get dressed every day?

I tend to only get ready and dressed if I'm going out and have plans, if not I'll be no make up, I brushed hair and in my pyjamas. Is anyone else the same or do most get up and ready every morning?

I get dressed every day but I will wear joggers if I'm not going out.

BitOutOfPractice · 12/01/2025 16:26

Yes I do. Though it might only be trackie bottoms and a sweatshirt, and tinted Moisturiser so I don’t scare myself when I look in the mirror.

TallNeckedGiraffe · 12/01/2025 16:28

I Have a shower and get dressed every morning.

I go out most days now (kids both school age) but in the holidays I (and they) occasionally don’t get dressed.

If we’ve got nowhere to be, we’re comfy and it’s not affecting our mood / whatever productivity we need for the day, I don’t see any issue. If it is, then dressed and out to the shops / park / wherever to shake things up.

ThePoshUns · 12/01/2025 16:29

Yes. Why wouldn't you?

MelvinThePenguin · 12/01/2025 16:29

I’d add that we wash and change PJs at the end of the day.

witchycat2 · 12/01/2025 16:30

Usually yes, I'll get dressed even if it's just leggings and a big jumper as I usually go for a walk everyday. But today I really cba and stayed in PJs all day as it's so cold and full. I don't feel nice doing that though, but if it gets passed 9pm I can't see the point, especially on a Sunday.

BBQPete · 12/01/2025 16:30

Yes, of course I get dressed. Even if it is only into some jogging bottoms and a hoodie.

Clearinguptheclutter · 12/01/2025 16:30

I def dress casually when at home and don’t put makeup on up on

however I’d never stay in pyjamas all day unless ill. That said it would be very rare to not go out at all. Very likely to nip to shops or go for a run or take a kid somewhere and I’d never do any of those in my pyjamas

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 12/01/2025 16:31

I wear a variation of leggings and a jumper/hoodie every day.

ABunchOfBadBitches · 12/01/2025 16:31

Yes?

I wake up, have a shower and put my house clothes on. Let’s say I’m unwell, wake up late or REALLY can’t be bothered then I’ll have a sink wash instead of a shower. I’ll always bathe and get dressed though

A very OTT reaction, I agree it wouldn't be great for mental health to do this all the time but every so often in the winter isn't that bad.

ApolloandDaphne · 12/01/2025 16:32

Always shower and get dressed. It might just be joggers and a hoody but I need to differentiate day clothes and nightwear.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 12/01/2025 16:32

I don't think I've ever in my life not got dressed for the day except on rare occasions when I was really ill and stayed in bed. I find staying in pyjamas all day a weird thing to do tbh.

frijolito · 12/01/2025 16:34

Yes. I feel like crap if I wear pyjamas in the daytime. If I want to slob around I just wear leggings or bamboo joggers and a tshirt with a hoodie depending on time of year. Even if I’m unwell and staying in bed I’ll do this.

How has that added to the conversation?

Why do you hope she doesn't have children??

museumum · 12/01/2025 16:35

Always get dressed, but often in joggers and a sweatshirt. Always wear a bra and pants in the daytime and never wear either overnight in pjs.

Strawberrycheesecake7 · 12/01/2025 16:35

I always get dressed and brush my hair. I don’t bother with makeup unless I’m going out though.

Cantgetausername87 · 12/01/2025 16:37

This is in a parenting thread. So I'm assuming you have children - how many? What age? There's nothing wrong in a PJ day at all and I surprised it's giving everyone the "ick" for all I know you've got a 2 week old and a 2 year old at home. In winter. No need to feel ashamed x

mollyfolk · 12/01/2025 16:39

I don't like staying in PJs. I'd also never stay in the whole day. We have a dog and kids who need outside time. So if I'm having a lazy or mostly at home day, I'll wear leggings you could go out for a walk in.

Shiningout · 12/01/2025 16:41

I've tried having pj days and just end up wanting a bath and to put fresh clothes on by lunchtime, it doesn't feel right to me to stay in pyjamas I always feel a bit gross.

DoYouReally · 12/01/2025 16:47

No, I've been naked since November! Christmas dinner with the in-laws might not have been a wise choice but sure it's done now!

This is such a ridiculous overreaction - unless you have anxiety or some form of OCD?

There is nothing wrong with having a pj day if you're not going out - we all love it in our house, especially in winter when the weather is crap and no-one wants to go anywhere!

We do, however, have a "24hr" rule, whereby no outfit can be kept on for longer than 24hrs without a full change so I do have some standards I'm passing on to the kids 😆

Aren't you cold?! Don't you have to go out or go to work?
