I was thinking crossiants with ham and cheese, maybe some chocolate filled ones too.
but it’s not really a big breakfast to keep us going is it ?

Chocolate

Frozen pastries and pigs and blankets first thing, then Eggs Benedict/Royale about 1030/11. We don't have the main meal until about 4/5 in the evening so that usually keeps us going with nibbly bits in between.

@MissBuffyAnneSummers drool. I miss bacon rolls with fried egg and potato scones - on the right side of crispy.

My family likes little, saving room for the meal is important !

We have brunch with smoked salmon, bagels, cream cheese, sliced beefsteak tomatoes and red onion, vegan cheese for vegan daughter), king prawns with American-style cocktail sauce (ketchup plus horseradish) and champagne, Buck's Fizz and/or orange juice. We are quite full after that so have our Christmas dinner quite late these days as we are all adults but no grandchildren yet.

We used to have crossaints with butter and jam. Last two years we have had them with cream cheese and smoked salmon.
We have party bites mid morning/midday from M&S instead of starters. Keeps us going till Christmas Dinner

I always had my usual cereal as a kid then I was allowed to eat whatever for the rest of the day.

It's been interesting reading this thread as my kids are 3 years old, and 10 months old. So our traditions are kind of starting this year :) I'll need to think of a breakfast for us!

Your childhood tradition sounds nice, don’t change it 🙂

A tube of orange Smarties (tube tipped up to mouth, I’m classy) and a glass of champagne.

My favourite suggestion!

Weetabix. Because I like it and my shy bowels will go on strike if I don’t.

Croissants and pain au chocolat are perfect for Christmas morning imo! There’s enough food to cook without faffing around with sausage / bacon barms and if people are hungry before Christmas dinner, get some nibbles out!
