I was thinking crossiants with ham and cheese, maybe some chocolate filled ones too.
but it’s not really a big breakfast to keep us going is it ?

what do you guys have for breakfast on Christmas Day?

Stocking chocolate and Bucks Fizz, breakfast of champions.

mondaytosunday · 14/12/2023 21:20

French toast and bacon.

Lilithlogic · 14/12/2023 21:22

I've actually planned to eat on Christmas morning this year. Fortnum and Masons sparkling tea, avocado toast and smoked salmon. Breakfast is a free for all here.

We have those frozen Pret Chocolate Croissants that you bake yourself.

The people having smoked salmon and champagne 😂 ‘home baked sourdough bread’ -

another vote for chocolate here

Spent years homemaking allsorts, lazy mare now, I just buy it all.

PerpetualStudent · 14/12/2023 21:25

Chocolate granola is a good compromise between sustenance and indulgence in my book

CattingAbout · 14/12/2023 21:25

We do panettone with butter and choice of jams.

Snippit · 14/12/2023 21:25

The same as most mornings, a lovely bowl of porridge but with a special dollop of brandy cream, then covered with the usual stuff, nuts, berries and seeds 😋

SpringingJoy · 14/12/2023 21:26

Selection box. Pringles. A handful of jelly beans. Some chocolate orange. Basically whatever shit from 3 dc's stockings that gets opened.

We have a number of guests who'll start to filter in by 10am and a meal for 14 to cook for 1pm.

Ain't no one in this house cooking or prepping any breakfast meal on Christmas morning. The dc have enough junk in their stockings to fend for themselves 😂

What time do you all eat Xmas lunch??? We don't eat until about 2pm so need a good breakfast and snacks later! Just because you are going to eat a lot later doesn't stop you being starving by mid morning. I really wouldn't want to eat chocolate all morning.

At home we had bacon sarnies. I've done pancakes in the past. Or normal breakfast cereal etc. with added Nigella muffins or pastries and/or mango/blueberry/pomegranite fruit salad. This year will probably do scrambled eggs with either bacon or smoked salmon. Salmon is nice but we always have salmon blinis as canapes before dinner so probably a bit much salmon.

OMGitsnotgood · 14/12/2023 21:29

We have had many different things over the years, including:
Full English mid morning then Christmas Dinner at about 4

Bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon

Scrambled egg with smoked salmon

Bacon, egg, sausage butties individually or any combination thereof.

Sausage rolls

Croissants stufte with cheese and ham, baked followed by crossiamte stuffed with mincemeat, baked and dusted with icing sugar

Panetonne and Christmas muffins

And combinations of the above

Mumaway · 14/12/2023 21:30

We just eat our Xmas sweeties and Clementines. Then late morning we have brunch (salmon, croissants, fruit etc) with 'dinner' at about 3pm

Anyonyond · 14/12/2023 21:32

Stollen cake toasts, tea and coffee, and for those who can't wait to get started, smoked salmon blinis with sour cream and lots of dill and, very important, mimosas made with pressed oranges.

We are having our Christmas meal on Christmas eve as one of my sons is working Christmas and Boxing days. He is a chef and gets sick of the sight of roast dinners over the period, so I just put on a spread in the afternoon when he is home. Lot's of goodies.
