I like doing bagels with cream cheese, smoked salmon, tomatoes, red onion and capers. Skip the salmon if you don't eat fish. It's lovely with. Squeeze of Lemon as well. Super simple

Whataretheodds · 14/12/2023 19:37

Porridge with dried cranberries and cinnamon

Nesbi · 14/12/2023 19:41

Smoked salmon on scrambled eggs, with a glass of champagne not far behind.

Toast and pate here. Can't wait already 😋

MadKittenWoman · 14/12/2023 19:46

Croissants, orange juice, champagne.

Flangeosaurus · 14/12/2023 19:48

Pigs in blankets butties and a Buck’s Fizz!

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 14/12/2023 19:51

Babycham and Matchmakers for me!

DH and DC have the cinnamon rolls that I make the day before...

CMOTDibbler · 14/12/2023 19:54

We have trifle. A bit niche, but we aren't waiting till 4pm to eat again either

Rapunzel35 · 14/12/2023 19:54

We do panettone and a glass of bubbly 🥰

caringcarer · 14/12/2023 19:59

1/2 fat sausages, scrambled egg, bacon, 2 hash browns, baked beans or plum tomatoes and a slice of toast with fresh juice with bits in and fresh vanilla coffee. We eat this at about 8am then don't eat Xmas dinner until 3pm. We just eat melon cubes for our Xmas dinner starter and often we are too stuffed for the dessert, so we have a selection of desserts at about 6pm.

caringcarer · 14/12/2023 20:00

And much Prosecco from about 9.30am on Xmas day.

ImCamembertTheBigCheese · 14/12/2023 20:01

Toast with ham or bacon. Champagne when opening presents.

MargaritaThyme · 14/12/2023 20:02

Smoked salmon, scrambled eggs & champagne. Christmas tradition.

Tisfortired · 14/12/2023 20:02

We have Christmas dinner quite late so need a decent breakfast to fill us up til then. We always have bacon sandwiches and Buck’s Fizz/OJ, I will also the night before put together a bit of a fruit salad, and put some frozen pastries on the air fryer. This year DS1 has requested pancakes so I’ll buy the fresh pre made little ones from middle - they’re lovely!

Obviously also lots of chocolate!

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 14/12/2023 20:02

Cinnamon buns.

ShowOfHands · 14/12/2023 20:05

We take it in turns to choose. DS requested fruit salad and winter muffins last year. We've had pastries in the past, crumpets, Welsh rarebit, breakfast burritos, bacon sandwiches, porridge. It's my turn to choose. Not sure what I'll opt for. I'll be making it so probably something simple.

Pineapplewaves · 14/12/2023 20:05

Christmas shaped crumpets with butter and jam, orange juice, coffee.

Thesearmsofmine · 14/12/2023 20:06

I put something in stockings that I wouldn’t usually buy, one year was pop tarts, another those pots of lucky charms, this year is pots of chocolate orange porridge,

Blueuggboots · 14/12/2023 20:06

Pork pie, thinly sliced, on hot buttered toast slathered in mustard.

SomeoneYouLoved · 14/12/2023 20:07

Crunchy nut cornflakes with ice cold milk.

gocompare · 14/12/2023 20:07

I could eat those right now

alphadawg · 14/12/2023 20:10

Bagels with salmon and cream cheese but it's quite filling when you have all the rest of the food to come.

Maybe some chocolate pancakes or pasties? Ds loves chocolate chip pancakes with loads of marshmallows and sweets. For one day only.

gocompare · 14/12/2023 20:12

Good point I might just give her the salmon (not loads) and a tiny bit of scrambled egg insteadz

The salmon is a treat for her she loves it.

WednesdaysPlaits · 14/12/2023 20:12

Cinnamon rolls. My Christmas Day recipe is the best one.

go to tescos bakery section and get two sharing cinnamon bun packs, get home, remove from packaging and wedge into a casserole dish, spoon over some extra cream cheese frosting, pretend you spent hours and hours proving dough etc and instead read a book and drink mulled wine. Merry Christmas

VillageLite · 14/12/2023 20:12

We have half a grapefruit with sugar grilled on top (a long-standing family tradition that I assume originated in the 70s), panettone and hot chocolate/coffee/mocha depending on preference.
When Dc were younger they would have half an orange instead of the grapefruit.
