Hi I hope someone can help DLA received my son's form on 31st March 2023 .. Today Friday 21st of July and still not heard from them .. I keep calling but they are just fobbing me off with excuses .. Won't even tell me if it's with a decision maker yet.. I am not ever sure if it's been looked at.. Tried to tell me I didn't put my bank details on the form ( but I know for sure I did ) because I have a copy.. They seem so full of bs right now and I am getting so very fed up.. contacted my MP even to see if he could help but he also hasn't got back to me.. This stress is taking its toll .. Does anyone else currently have the same problem??
Thank you

Muva306 · 03/08/2023 11:40

Oh man!! I feel terrible, I feel like I’ve just taken a week away from you 🥹😂 we just have to think we are almost at the finish line, fingers crossed only another 3 weeks (I do keep seeing people having answers by 16.5 weeks) @EB82

Mammyof5cherubs · 03/08/2023 13:56

My scan date was 31st March so 18 weeks and I’ve just received a letter today so say it’s been rejected so I’ve had to do an MR hope it doesn’t take too long I will fight till the very end. It’s just guttering to have waited so long too xxx

16 weeks today and received a text saying my daughter has been awarded. Scan date 13th April xx

Bluebarnetti · 04/08/2023 16:48

My daughter in law has previously had DLA for her daughter and missed the renewal due to paperwork from the council and specialist taking time, her scan date was 23rd March, I spoke with DLA today and they said its not got to DM but should be a couple of weeks absolutely shocking that she has had her DLA and carers allowance stopped from March.....

unicornwonders · 17/08/2023 08:47

hi i want to send extra evidence in for my renewal but it runs out on 05/11 they said it should be looked at the week of 28/08 if i sent it today do you think they would see it in time?

Mumto2sengirlsxx · 21/08/2023 18:53

Hiya everyone... I recently got my eldest daughter accepted for dla and then the school approached me and said they wanted me to apply for my youngest and do another application for a EHCP for her too... so I'm 8 weeks in another at least 8 weeks to go so looking on a decision October time. Was so stressful waiting the first time round with my eldest now I have to do it all over again 😬 don't know her chances she has severe hypermobility in all joints and is on the waiting list for a ADHD assessment so fingers crossed for her to be accepted... Will be following the thread and hope anyone waiting gets a answer soon! Xx

Bluebarnetti · 21/08/2023 21:56

My daughter in law got accepted on Thursday just on 18 weeks waiting and is being back to march tomorrow, however her carers allowance can only be backdated 3 months.

MammaLBlue · 25/08/2023 19:33

Hi everyone. My daughter got awarded middle rate care a few weeks back, I have just received letters from my Pediatrician with a report of how badly she sleeps at night and how melatonin don’t work at all and need further assistance from sleep aid, I’m on about 5/6 broken hours a sleep a night. Would this qualify for high rate?

Chels2020 · 26/08/2023 08:10

Hey it’s worth a try change of circumstances are currently at 26 week wait!

Jolouise1986 · 29/08/2023 14:17

Muva306 · 29/08/2023 15:08

Hello @Jolouise1986 my forms were scanned 28/4 so I’m almost at 18 weeks of waiting 🫠🫠 I called Thursday and was told it’s with a DM. Called today and it’s still in the DM pile

Mandamum80 · 25/10/2023 11:58

Good afternoon, I'm just looking for some advice about DLA. I sent off the claim for a couple of weeks ago and I haven't heard back about it being received yet. Did anyone else have the same issue so early on? How long is the average waiting time, have many of you been waiting long for a decision to be made for your child?

Yes I had this. I posted in mid September and called them just over a month later to check they received it. After much "no we haven't" and "yes we have" (a roller coaster right there!) they found my record and told me it's too soon to send a letter but that I will get one. They said the wait is 18-19 weeks from the date they received it (3 weeks after I posted it).

Leepee80 · 08/11/2023 12:27

Hi I got. Message saying my daughter qualifys for dla on Monday when will I get my first payment does anyone know how soon please ?

Sazbax · 10/11/2023 01:53

Hi everyone. I sent a new claim form for my daughter on the 5th October and not heard anything from them to say they have received it yet. I rang last week and she said it hadn’t been scanned and to ring again this week. So going to ring them tomorrow. Just wondering on what other people’s waiting times are for a message on actually receiving the form. So worried that it may have got lost and il have to do it all again!

SeasonalBlue · 10/11/2023 18:10

Took a month between posting and scanning for me.

That was in September

Mumo2023 · 13/11/2023 10:32

Hiya, I too received text to say we qualify although no payment as of yet, it takes 2 weeks to receive a letter so maybe it takes around 2 weeks for a payment?!

Jolouise1986 · 15/11/2023 09:23

Hey guys does anyone know if I've updated my uc correct.i did it from when he was awarded not from start of claim.also how long do they take to give you back pay is it another 22 weeks 🤣🤣

Mrssnee16 · 22/11/2023 20:31

Update* I have received the letter confirming the DLA got my childs application form on the 25th of October. How long were people waiting to hear again if the application was successful from the time the dla received theirs?
