The never sleep with your baby has now been removed and updated to be safe if you share your bed with your baby.

Isn't that awesome 👏 😊

Wel if you know there is a risk then why the fuck did you say it's safe when done properly? Confused

There's a small risk with everything 🙄

There's a small risk with everything

That still doesn't answer why you agreed that it is perfectly safe.

It's a strange thing to do, to agree with something that you don't actually agree with.

I don't have to answer to you.

It was always safe. Humans have been sleeping with their babies since the dawn of time. So it’s great the nhs are now encouraging it especially for new mums who may believe putting their baby in a cot is safer when it’s actually more damaging and creates abandonment.

Exactly! Not something I ever wanted to do - they only ever slept in their cots at night but nothing wrong in safe co sleeping

Don't get me wrong I love sleeping. But loved the baba cuddles 🥰 best cuddles ever

I love my sleep - my main reason for never co sleeping. DC’s were given their bottles (you can cuddle even if you don’t bf!) and then back in their cots. Luckily they slept through consistently from 12 weeks ( thank you MIL for getting them into such a good routine).

You have your facts very wrong. Babies who solely sleep in a cot do not have any abandonment issues. Perhaps best to only post facts?

I co slept with both of mine (still am with my 8 month old)- tbh I’d much rather they bloody slept in their own cots!! but they understandably preferred to be close to me or my husband. It’s primal isn’t it
I’m just glad now that the judgement is gone. It’s so natural (still can’t wait for the youngest to go in the cot though and to be able to spread out with the covers up to my neck 😂)

Spoke to my midwife on the 11th. She disagrees with it immensely.

I think it's ridiculous myself. Why risk SIDS?

premiumknot · 11/03/2023 20:48

That is good!
I remember how guilty the health visitor made me feel when I said I was (safely) co sleeping with my then 1 year old, who was ebf.

That's how you feel. But some need to do it. And sids is going to happen regardless what you do. You can't prevent it. Also baby is right next to you. Your breathing regulates their breathing.

I just think you do what you have to do as a parent.
The NHS guidance now support the fact that co sleeping can be done safely. Everyone will have their own opinions, one way or the other
There’s too much judgement on mums, just do what works for you.

Someone who had their MIL sort their 12 week old baby sleeping for them is never going to get co sleeping 😴

Thank goodness for an amazing MIL! She flew over and stayed to help us with DT’s. I like my sleep!
